I remember watching this trailer in December 2013 and wondering how awesome the movie would be when it comes out. I watched this movie on the first day in theaters on November 7th, 2014 and since then multiple times, and now I am here watching this trailer again. Needless to say, this movie changed my life.

You probably won’t see this comment but I feel the same. I regret not seeing this masterpiece in the theatre but it’s fine because I wouldn’t have understood the beauty of this back then. This movie has given me a sense of perspective and curiosity like no other movie or piece of art. Whenever I hear the beautiful score composed by the legend Hans Zimmer I experience vibes and feelings which I can't quite express in words. People point out the movie's flaws but I can't seem to see them for myself because I am so engrossed and intrigued by the move every time I watch it. No exaggeration, this movie has changes my life in a way nothing else can or will.

I regret not watching this in the cinema. I didn't have a clue of what the movie was about as I hadn't watched the trailer either. I had just heard from someone that it's a good movie. So I just downloaded it and watched it on my laptop a couple months after it had been released.
Since childhood I have been a space geek and have always looked up at the stars in the nightsky curious about how much is out there and how small we really are.
So as I was watching the movie having absolutely NO CLUE it was a space movie you can only imagine how far my jaw dropped throughout the entirety of it.
This movie undoubtedly is the most amazing masterpiece to have ever been put on screen.
I had no knowledge about Christopher nolan as a director, although I had already seen almost all of his movies. But this movie sure made me notice him after watching. Him and hanns zimmer are prophetic when working together.
Now I watch every nolan movie in cinema as soon as they come out. Dunkirk and tenet being the latest ones.
But even as a nolan fan I know nothing could ever supersede interstellar. Unless maybe Interstellar 2 🥺

    • @rohantripathi9791
      @rohantripathi9791 3 года назад +2

Salman Butt all us fans want interstellar 2 but we don’t actually need it because the first one ended on a perfect note balancing hope and curiosity perfectly. A second part would undoubtedly be good but I don’t think it would be able to beat the first one.

    • @salmanbutt4706
      @salmanbutt4706 3 года назад +1

@@rohantripathi9791 I don't know, with nolan anything is possible. He made 3 batman movies and all of them are masterpieces. But I agree a second part to interstellar could never do justice to the first one. I guess all we can do is hope and pray another space movie will come along which could encapsulate our imaginations as interstellar has done so immensely, it seems unlikely

Oblivion is still a better deal than your "heaven" (where you're eternally required to lick the boots of a cosmic dictator, and you don't even get a smoke break)... even if I have to "burn" for a while first. 100 bazillion years from now, I'll be peacefully asleep while you're standing in rank-and-file with your fellow "saints", singing "Amazing Grace" for the mega-gazillionth time with your feet eternally rooted to the ground (i.e., the "Beatific Vision" as described by Thomas Aquinas.) Have fun!
Of course, that won't happen anyway; Christianity is superstitious bullshit dreamed up by stinking, ignorant, Bronze Age goat-herders.

I come back to this trailer every now and then to recapture the feeling of the first time I saw it.
I remember working a double shift the day the movie hit theaters and I still practically ran to the cinema up the street from my post to catch it on IMAX. The experience was, to this day, unmatched. This was far more than just another movie. This was a 2 hour and 49 minute life lesson that will stick with me forever.

This is the only trailer I saw before watching the movie. I didn't know they were going into space. I didn't know they would set foot on other planets. I didn't know Matt Damon was in the movie. I thought the movie would be earth based only with dialogues about space, etc. Watching the movie and being surprised by different scenes was a fantastic experience. Watching trailers steals movie experiences.

It's about the stories he told as well. In every feature I've seen of his, he always asks questions about the human need to assume that they already know what is going on. He plays with it...counts it. And then, when you least expect it, he springs the trap, the one you should have seen coming. That's a rare storyteller, no matter what kind of budget he has.

This comment will probably get buried but I will love this movie. Even if it flops I will love it due to the message it is sending people. It is true that we forget we are pioneers. People and nations as a whole lost their adventurous spirit and instead spend all their time figuring out ways to screw each other for an extra buck. We all need to stop with the bullshit politics, unite, and discover new things together.

No, we need more fierce competition between nations & cultures for any meaningful space colonization to happen. Competition is what got America to the moon. Not this "humanity" & "universal brotherhood" type of sentimental drivel.

    • @junkevin

I find it sad that the US has basically abandoned manned space exploration. NASA only receives 0.5% of the nation's total budget, and at its peak in the 1960s, it only received 4.4% of the national budget. It's hard to think of another federal program that has done so much good with such little money.

Man i am so hyped up for this. Sci-Fi film about space exploration, Interstellar space, wormholes, time travel, and maybe even black holes? On top of that, Nolan directs, Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway........Spielberg was supposed to be the original director but left so Nolan took over(thank goodness!!)
"The ambition is that Interstellar will depict a heroic voyage to the farthest borders of our scientific understanding." -Interstellar website description
One thing i just hope the film doesn't do(but i highly doubt it since it's Nolan)is the typical "Identified aliens/creatures in space, they kills crew members and now their running for their lives." crap. Other than that, I have a good feeling about this film........I feel warm and fuzzy inside my stomach watching this trailer......or maybe i just need to poop.
INTERSTELLAR SET RELEASE DATE: NOVEMBER 7, 2014!!!

I never would have imagined that Mathew Machanauhay would go from being one of my least favorite actors to one of my favorites. He gave us a glimpse of his potential in 'Frailty' a decade ago. Unfortunately he chose to take the dreaded romantic comedy route in his movies that followed, but he came back with a force starting with Mud, Magic Mike, and notably the Dallas Buyers Club. Going from Kate Hudson to Christopher Nolan is no easy task.

jamal namal With the greatest respect, I know all that as I have a degree in Physics, a degree in Aeronautics & Astronautics plus 25yrs in the Aerospace Industry.
To answer buffalo827's point directly, "quick" would mean not just as fast as light but many many............many times faster than light, in order to make Interstellar travel even worth bothering with and being "efficient" would mean achieving this at a minimal requirement of resources/fuel, so as to not make it impractical to embark on Interstellar journeys.
Therefore, the reason why buffalo827's comment is unrealistic, is not because it is impossible to travel faster than light, indeed there are several "cracks" in Einstein's Theories of Special & General Relativity which are currently being seriously explored by Physicists. Moreover, if a method is found to travel faster than light, the likelihood is that the energies required to power such a method would be simply beyond harnessing, ever.
Just try to imagine trying to harness energy equivalent to our Sun's entire lifetime output in a simple, practical "engine" that could allow us to exploit these "cracks" in Relativity. Not impossible I grant you but difficult enough so as to make it near impossible, certainly for this Century!
As for Nuclear Fusion, it provides no energy advantage over Nuclear Fission (which we already have) due to the enormous amounts energy required to initiate and sustain the reaction. The key advantage of Nuclear Fusion is the use of Hydrogen Isotopes as fuel and the lack of radioactive particles produced by the process, making it much more environmentally friendly and safe. Either way, the "useful" product is actually electricity which we already know how to produce from all sorts of different methods.

Fastdags I'd like to think humans are extremely impatient beings. If it isn't interstellar travel, i'm pretty sure we'll think of something else that will just as easily revolutionize our world.

I remember seeing this trailer in the cinema in 2013 and becoming hooked.
It's funny to look back on it and listen to the music... Music that is now so familiar and powerful to me, and part of what I regard to be one of the best soundtracks in history.

Nolan could take the weakest of actors out there and still make a classic. This film will be incredible because he's the best out there.

For all of the "experts" out there who already know that this movie will suck, keep in mind it has a triple-A cast with a top notch production crew and a director who's made virtually nothing but critically acclaimed movies. But yeah, you guys are probably right, cause you know - it makes sense.

Watching this movie was such a rare experience. I saw it alone, something I often do, but hen I walked out of those theaters doors and into the crisp night air, I was exhilarated. It was a strange high, my spirit was just uplifted and I felt so very good about life and universe. I'll never forget it, only a handful of movies in my life have moved me so deeply that they have moved into my soul and stayed with me. I think I will always have a fraction of that feeling I can tap into forever, because of this one film.
