- My first visit ever to lake Hornborgasjön. Every year in spring a special event takes place at this lake. It's called "The Crane dance". Thousands of cranes gather here before they move on to their locations for nesting.
In the second half of the video, on my way home, I stop at Färnebofjärden national park for some landscape photography.

Tack Robert! Hoppas du kan åka dit någon gång! :)
Beautiful images Thomas, it seems that it was more than worth the 500km ride.
Thank you Hugo! It sure was worth it. I'm definitely going back there some day. 😀

Amazing experience to see all those cranes! Beautiful! Love the silhouette images!
Hi Karen! It was special. I'm going back there next year for sure! :)
What an incredible trip! You wonder how anyone was able to sleep with all the noise that the cranes make. I would have needed my ear plugs! lol
Thank you for this video Thomas, just wonderful!
Hi Mike! Hehe, yes they sure did make a lot of noise. Glad you enjoyed the video. I had so much fun that weekend. :)
@@ThomasRaskPhoto I would have loved to have been there too! We get Sandhill Cranes here in the spring and fall as they are migrating to and from their summer breeding grounds further north and then as they head back to their winter grounds in the south. Such incredibly beautiful birds.
Our cranes does the exact same thing! :)
@@ThomasRaskPhoto I'd migrate with them if I could! lol
Hehe, they have more freedom than us humans! :)
Vældig smukke billeder af tranerne i silhuet Thomas både i farver og sort/hvid. Jeg så selv tranerne ved Pulken syd for Kristiansstad for to år siden det er en flot oplevelse. Fin video 👌
Thank you very much Christian! It's indeed a special thing to see. :)
Thank you for another great video Thomas. Loved seeing all the cranes
Hi Kenneth! Glad you liked the cranes. They are so beautiful! :)
Great video as always, love the cranes in silhouette, where do the cranes migrate from.
Hi Donald! Many thanks! They go to Spain and France during the winter. So not that far. :)
Hornborgarsjön added to my bucketlist, last place, was it at Gysinge ?, We have our summerhouse just 20-25 minutes from there, visit Gysinge 2-3 times/months for photo trips even in the winter.
Hi Hans! Yes, Gysing and Färnebofjärdern. Very beautiful location in all the seasons of the year. I hope you can visit Hornborgasjön in the future! :)
Wow, nice pics 🤩 You've had a good time ther, I think. I'm the last week of April an first of may in reach of this spot, but I think it's too late? What do you think?
Hi and thank you Volker! Check this website for the number of cranes at Hornborgasjön: www.hornborga.com/naturen/transtatistik/ .
I don't know how many there will be in late April.
@@ThomasRaskPhoto Thanks, seems that they‘re gone at that time.
