Adams fight with Alaster was a great way to show just how strong Adam is without even trying. Makes the fight with Lucifer, and Charlie show how much stronger they are than even one of the most powerful demons.
It shows how cheaty are angelic powers against any demon. Charlie and Luci have angelic powers, that's why they could stand against Adam, unlike Alastor. Not saying Alastor's stronger than Luci if we don't count angelic power, but Charlie definetely is weaker in anything than Alastor, but stands higher because of being immortal and having advantage against him.
@@Rororandd._. She’s half angel, she stopped a full powered attack against Lucifer from Adam. His one free shot wouldn’t have been at 10% power. Also Adam could have vaporized alastor like with a nuke. But he used a much nerfed weapon that equated to a spiked club. When he has nukes
Maybe….. but remember Adam wasn’t using anything besides essentially a club here. When his arsenal has angelic nukes. Like doubt he’s gonna beat satan. But probably no dif ozmodius
I love how this episode showed that Lucifer is more powerful than Alastor. I was getting tired of the comments saying he could totally take on Lucy, when it was literally shown in the ranks that his power is even lower than Charlie's. He had to retreat fighting Adam, while Lucifer almost killed him with his bare hands. Just because hes more outwardly threatening, doesn't mean he's stronger.
Yeah and I feel like it's kinda insulting to his character? Like yeah sure strength is a very important part of his power but in the end he's just a human fighting off celestial beings. What makes him dangerous is his ability to manipulate. He may not be able to solo Lucifer but that deal he made with Charlie would make Lucifer sweat more than fighting Adam
Interesting thing of note: When Alastor and Adam are exchanging their quips, Alastor curses, something we've only ever seen him do when he was truly upset. This seems to suggest that he's not just doing this as a part of a deal or to merely fulfil his agenda, but because whether he realizes it or not, he genuinely DOES care about the hotel. Whether that be for magnanimous reasons like caring about Charlie's dream, or even just being attached to the entertainment of it all, Alastor isn't just pretending to be their ally. He genuinely does care.
he seems to cuse when he's sterssed enough or its personal. i would say that a part of him has grown fond of charlie and the others. but his motivations seem to be complicated bheyond that. he is there cause of the deal binding him in some way. he is tied to charile. but he also is takign advantage of his metaphysical bondage cause he sees the immense potentail charlie has and what he could do by being her counsel.... and being able to manipulate her potentionally. Even if free of the deal he'd probably continue to play the role, cause of how much he'd gain from it, guiding someone like charlie.
honestly, him putting his hands smiling about being an altruist while singing at the end gives him as a character so much flair i love it. I cant remember when i've been this obsessed with a character
Or he is using Charlie to break away from his deal with Lilith which seems to be the case since he’s been trying to make a deal with Charlie since the pilot
@@taddad2641I thought he was more upset because as he said in the song after this injury he didn’t wanna be there defending them but guess his master ordered him to protect Charlie or help her dreams come true.
Well that could be true but remember in the next song the show just go on at the end of the episode. Alastor says “ I'm hungry for freedom like never before The constraints of my deal surely have a backdoor. Once I figures out how to unclip my wings guess who will be pulling all the strings” which suggests that he didn’t have his full power during the fight with Adam because of the said deal that restricts him from being all powerful. Now we can piece together who alastor is most likely in a deal with during the season because remember husk says that alastor is also on a short leash like husk is and that strikes a nerve with alastor threatening to off him if he didn’t stop talking about it. Also remember alastor and Lilith have been both gone from hell for exactly 7 years.
Alastor is SO the classic old skool movie serial villain. I can see him in the top hat and opera cape twisting that handlebar moustache. That exit was also the classic villain line: "You've beaten me this time- but I'll be back!"
I gotta give Alastor props. He was willing to fight Adam despite knowing he’s terribly outmatched. Power wise Alastor has nothing to actually do much damage to Adam so it’s smart for him to use mind games to distract Adam. It was only after Adam broke Alastor’s cane which is probably the source of most of his power and finally injured him that Alastor knew he couldn’t afford keep fighting without the massive risk of dying.
@@TippedScaleit’s likely his contract as to why he mentioned it and he didn’t want to help his “friends”. But his order likely is help Charlie or something like that

And if you're a GenXer or a Boomer, it's hilarious that Adam only knows half a dozen curse words. The old timers back in the day didn't curse every other word- but when they did, they could go on for a couple minutes without repeating themselves. That is how I was taught to behave, and I passed this down to my daughter: "A lady should not curse during normal conversation. He was clearly the worse fighter in terms of actual skill. Alastor knew what his abilities could do and how to use them. Its just that Adam's "numbers" were bigger than Al's. @@it3ly800 he did NOT feel any pain until Charlie Stabed Him, even commenting that it Hurt, Alastor did not hurt him at all, just knocked him around some, think of it like fighting someone with super durability
Honestly having Alastor be over confident and get his ass handed to him is actually a really bold move for the show that I respect entirely. After the pilot so many people created this "unbeatable sexy Dom" Alastor idea that as we've seen has no basis in how he actually is, he's actually kind of an attention seeking dork, directly under the control of others, able to be outmatched, and finally, AroAce. And I like this version way better.
As much as Alastor was never going to win this fight and wasn't taking it seriously, credit deserves to be given for putting up a shield none of the other Exorcists could penetrate, holding his own against Adam, AND tanking a hit from Adam's axe that would've killed nearly anyone else. Goes to show what's waiting for Vox when things get to the point where he decides he wants a rematch with the Radio Demon.
In a way, he kinda was, lol. He dodged the entire time, then got one shotted after being surprised; just like Sans. Up until he was one-shotted, I thought he was clowning on Adam, and at least was gonna make Adam need reinforcements.
Anyone else notice Alastor didn't use his full power here? He didnt fully transform, nor did he grow like he did against the mob guys a few episodes prior, he was toying around and feeling the opponent out, I have a feeling he is pulling many more strings than we know so far.
@@gallohaltthats true but he barely used his full power is what I was getting at, I feel like he was just lining his ducks in a row by getting under Adams skin, if he had wanted him dead he would've kept holding onto him with his shadow tentacles and just ran right through him, he didn't even physically touch Adam, he was toting with him the whole time, laughing and joking around, ALSO most demons after being hit with a heavenly axe directly like that would have been dropped in one hit, Alastor just lost his staff, I am quite sure he could've just snapped his fingers and made another staff.
As much as Vox will be celebrating this 'defeat' there's something he's overlooking; Al can EASILY twist this around on him... Vox: Look at that; he ran away from the fight! Al: At least I was there...what were YOU doing, hm? Cowering and watching...as you ALWAYS do.
Whatever that deal is that Alastor is leashed by, I'm convinced that not only does Lilith hold that leash, but it limits his powers. So the deal he made with Charlie will more than likely play a huge part in breaking that leash.
I'm banking on it being Eve. She let in "the evil", from the intro, which looks suspiciously like the tendrils Alastor keeps using. Plus we don't have confirmation that she ever got over Adam, which might explain why Alastor's deal didn't let Alastor kill him. For that matter, it might explain what Adam was doing in heaven in the first place, if she and heaven struck some kind of ceasefire.
You gotta admit, Alastor held his own very well with his calm demeanor and multiple tricks--he just never counted on Adam's holy weapon being able to break through his defenses in a mere stroke. When I saw that staff break, I was like "Oof, yeah, it's all over" XD
Yeah. Another subtle one from the writers. That hit didn't just hurt Alastor- it did serious internal damage. In game terms, Adam didn't kill him, but took him to just a few hit points. Alastor straight up says that in his song after the battle.
Yeah, his eye sometimes does that, like when he threatend vaggie in ep1 or in the song "stayed gone" and some other instances, another cool Detail did you notice his shadow pulls him away in the timestamp?
Alastor always kinda scared me. As if the constant smile and radio filtered voice wasn’t enough, he is also actually able to put up a fight with that asshole of an angel Adam. But despite that, he’s also one of my favorites next to Lucifer, Charlie and Vaggie

The fact Allestor lost his composure for this finale was mind blowing. For a guy who has complete control of his mind, he struggles in taking hits.
Only way to make his character realistic. Unmovable characters that are too cocky with no flaws get stale real quick.
As Alastor said smiling makes your enemies waver and he is a demon in a hostile place with lots of enemies, it makes sense that only when he is alone he can show weakness, definitely he is the one i'm the most wary for charlie and friends, can't really tell if he has evil intentions for them or what
It's part of the Magnificent Bastard breakdown, and I feel that we can fairly safely put Alastor in the Magnificent Bastard category.
@@DomesthenesI know right? I see Carmila's there (and she's earned it considering she's the first to have killed an angel) but the only thing about Alastor that doesn't fit is that he's a protagonist, but Magnificent Bastards generally transcend black and white morality anyway and he's the baddest guy on the good guys team
He didn't lose it as bad as Vox did though, he was still able to keep enough cool to make a closing remark without sobbing or screaming followed by a stylish shadowy exit.

He was just too cocky. Honestly I think if he used an angelic weapon then the fight would have been 50/50
Adams fight with Alaster was a great way to show just how strong Adam is without even trying.
When he has nukes
if an overlord like Alastor can kinda stand his ground for a bit, then imagine the SINS themselves
And Alastor was actually gimped here as well.
Maybe….. but remember Adam wasn’t using anything besides essentially a club here. When his arsenal has angelic nukes. Like doubt he’s gonna beat satan. But probably no dif ozmodius
The difference is that they might actually be a threat to Adam.
The crazy thing is alastor fans are still saying he could rival lucifer.
@@isaiah5519yep, i love Alastor as a character, but come on, put your feet on the ground kids! The seven sins should be stronger than this Overlord’s.
Yeah and I feel like it's kinda insulting to his character? Like yeah sure strength is a very important part of his power but in the end he's just a human fighting off celestial beings. What makes him dangerous is his ability to manipulate. He may not be able to solo Lucifer but that deal he made with Charlie would make Lucifer sweat more than fighting Adam
how the hell can alastor compare to a fallen seraph 💀💀💀
Alistor is end game bad guy he will get there mark this comment
I like the detail of Alistor's ears going back while wincing in pain.

I gotta give Alastor props. He was willing to fight Adam despite knowing he’s terribly outmatched. Power wise Alastor has nothing to actually do much damage to Adam so it’s smart for him to use mind games to distract Adam. The amount of "fuck"s in this make me feel like someone just learned how to curse
And if you're a GenXer or a Boomer, it's hilarious that Adam only knows half a dozen curse words. The old timers back in the day didn't curse every other word- but when they did, they could go on for a couple minutes without repeating themselves.
