    His athleticism throughout his career has been very underrated in my opinion. At some point in his NHL career he has been very good at the following: edgework, lateral movement, deceleration, first step quickness, raw speed, power, strength, balance, and of course skating. And that's just from the athleticism point of view, not including the complete skill package he has. I haven't watched hockey for a long time, but I can't think that there would be a more well-rounded player to ever play the game.
    Not to mention he's never played consistently with an all star player on his line. Just think of the additional points he would have if so, like Ovechkin with Backstrom etc., and also all the games he's missed with injuries

    PLEASE break down how Tyler Bertuzzi is so effective with his wonky skating.
    Maybe a lil Moritz Seider action too 😤

    Would you say taller NHL players utilize the same skating principles, or do anything differently? He’s shorter than average and has a very low center of gravity.

    Great video! If I may ask, what program do you use to draw on the screen?

      I was using a program called paint.net and downloading the images from online. I just dropped them in there and used the paint brush tool to make the lines!

    If you’re not a strong skater, you’ll never make professional hockey your career in this day and age. Simple as that.

      In this day and age lol. That was always the case dude, not just now.

    • @kftc1980
      @kftc1980 Год назад

      @@HT-sm9dm in previous generations there were players who were not strong skaters who made a career playing in front of the opposing net, PP specialists, etc. Not just goons (who had careers in spite of bad skating), Dave Andreychuk is one example.

    • @HT-sm9dm
      @HT-sm9dm Год назад

      @@kftc1980 I think you’re mixing up “not a strong skater” compared to regular human beings to “not a strong skater” compared to the top skaters in the world (NHL).
      If Dave Andreychuk was “not a strong skater” then there’s less than a 0.000001% chance he would have been able to put together a hall of fame career with over 1300 points. Especially playing in an era where the likes of Jaromir Jagr, Brett Hull, Mike Modano, Sergei Fedorov, Eric Lindros, Peter Forsberg, Steve Yzerman and Joe Sakic were in their primes.
      I haven’t even mentioned Lemieux and Gretzky yet.

    • @kftc1980
      @kftc1980 Год назад

      @@HT-sm9dm the original commenter had a valid point. In this day and age the game is too fast for weak skaters (by NHL standards) to keep up. If you watched current NHL and compare it to the 80’s or earlier NHL you can see the gap between the strongest and weakest skaters is much more narrow now.

    • @HT-sm9dm
      @HT-sm9dm Год назад

      @@kftc1980 that’s not a valid point at all. It’s people like who say dumb sh*t like “Gretzky wouldn’t make an AHL roster today”. That’s the point of stupidity we’re at and that statement is somewhat a reflection of it.
      You’re seeing a bunch of teams drafting for speed today and nothing else to fill out their bottom lines. Teams are ok with guys that can cover a lot of ground fast, get in the way and block shots in their bottom six.
      Back in the day that wasn’t the case. But if you put even the worst “plugs” on the ice in a game against regular people, they’d absolutely, medievally abuse them. You don’t make it to the NHL in any era without being able to skate unbelievably well.

    I'm not learning anything from this video. This video would be better if it was about video instead of pictures
