    Lo k mas m gusta de este tipo de costura son sus ventajas frente al sistema antiguo en k cosias por el borde ya k al hacer la costura se podia descuadrar ,romper hilo , etc

    I really like these tutorials. They have a personal feel. Great camera work too. I used them to help make a new shift boot cover which came out nicely. Are more steering wheel covering tutorials available yet? That's my next project.

      As for steering-wheel tutorials we're preparing the first course of a series. it will be for sale on a new website. I think it is worthwhile, for the people really interested in knowing how to do this procedure in an easy way and starting from zero. We´re on edition step at this moment.

    I was always taught to stitch towards me when sewing leather. Is there a reason why you sew away from yourself in cross stitch?

    • @Cechaflo
      @Cechaflo  5 лет назад

      Both ways are valid. I have chosen this position to get a wider view on screen.

    What kind of thread did you use here? How thick is it? Is it UV protected?

    • @Cechaflo
      @Cechaflo  8 лет назад +1

      +syndromer I used a 'polyester thread UV protected' 3/64"thick approx. (it could be waxed)...here in Mexico is called 'double zero'...if I'm right, it corresponds to 277 in USA :www.thethreadexchange.com/miva/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=TTE&Category_Code=polyester-thread-size-277#Polyester_Thread_-_Size_277
      Check min. 0:41 to 1:35..it's the same thread used for these patterns:ruclips.net/video/kahlJ31s2I8/видео.html

      +Cechaflo
      Im not sure if that is correct because 3/64 = 0.046875 inches. According to thethreadexchange, 277(tex270) is only 0.0231 inches. I think maybe it is called "double zero" because it is 2 stands of 277 thread. (2 x 0.0231 = 0.0462...very close..) .Now I am confused though because it doesn't look like 2 threads in your video

    • @Cechaflo
      @Cechaflo  8 лет назад

      +syndromer I'm still confused about these sizes...I got the approx. thickness in inches by placing a measure tape on top.

    • @Cechaflo
      @Cechaflo  9 лет назад

      Hi Patrick, my typical mexican belt is also a leather-cow handcraft, but I didn´t make it...I bought it. I'd like to make one by myself...it's not my specialty, but any leather artisan can do it.

      Hello, Cechaflo!)
      My respects and kind words of the great Masters!
      ... I'm back today to do hand-stitched on to your video. A piece of leather from a broom stick overtighten) Again and again.
      Cross stitches & Baseball seam captured my mind))))

    Hello,which size is the neadle you use?

    • @Cechaflo
      @Cechaflo  9 лет назад

      Hi FRiend, ........'Blunt stitching needles' easily run through the pre-made stitching holes in the leather piece. The procedure to get a ‘blunt needle’ consists in taking off the sharp point just by grinding it a little with the ‘grinding machine’. The final step is to polish it by passing it over and over a sheet of ‘soft grain metal sandpaper’.
      A three inches long needle does well. If necessary when sewing ‘lubricate’ your needle with the ‘bees-wax’ to ease the action of passing through the little ‘leather stitching holes’. The advisable thickness of the needle should be 1/16” of an inch......
