It's the ingredients I worry about. I'm not a chemist so I really can't comment, but that's always a concern with cheaper makeup for me.

I totally agree that Wet 'N Wild is killing the drugstore game. Did you hear that Ulta is going to start carrying it? I'm not sure about in stores, but defiantly online. Can't wait for them to start carrying it!

Yeah there weren't huge differences but I actually noticed before she even started the video that one side of highlight looked kind of chunky and glittery and it turned out to be the wet n wild! Personally I have that one and like it but more intrigued by the Dior now

I love these type of tutorials but want to see how it lasts throughout the day comparatively. Maybe I'm just a sucker that thinks a more expensive product = more lasting power. I would love to know if this is the case

I agree. In my own experience, I've been able to purchase more high end makeup lately and have definitely found that the lasting power is better. I think at least face products like primer and foundation are definitely worth the splurge.
Suzanne Guzman Yes! I am the same way, I have stopped buying a lot of drugstore bc they don't wear as long for me, even tho they apply the same.
Mrs Andy Then you haven't tried good-quality drugstore makeup or you believe the myth that drugstore makeup equals short wear time, because there are awesome drugstore products that do wear just as long as high-end products. Tati has a lot of videos devoted to this subject, as do other vloggers. Just because a product doesn't cost as much as another one doesn't mean it's not long-wearing. There is some truly outstanding drugstore makeup on the market, you just need to know which ones.
I think smaller very affordable brands like essence and catrice are better then "expensive drugstore" like loreal and Revlon for some reason.
Man I love Tati she's such a woman of substance. From the way her eyes shine with or without makeup, her choice of words, articulation and body language yall can see she is for keep!
ohhhh I was hoping you would do a wear test on the high end VS the drugstore side.... I would have loved to see how each side wore and if one wore longer than the other and how each help up through the day...Love the look!!!
In the future you should do through the day check ins and then give a final update on which dupes are best at the end. Love you and your videos!

Most of the products are things that she's used and loved for a long time (on both sides), so I think we can assume that the cheaper ones also wear well. However, its not a bad idea!

I totally agree! Tati is the only youtuber I follow that not only does a video everyday but does a quality one each day. Tati is the gold standard for RUclips truly. It's hard for me to take some other youtubers seriously when they barely post once a week but they claim it's their full time job. If Tati can post every single weekday there's no reason other youtubers who claim this as their full time job, can barely post once a week.
And she looks put together everyday! And you have me here in my pjs watching the video 🤦♀️

The fact that the $6 drugstore mascara looks SO much better than the CL $70 one.... love you tati! consider doing a check in throughout the day with this type of video also to see if the higher brands last longer (therefore are more worth it) than the drugstore brands.
I wish you would have done a wear test since that's typically the difference between high end and drug store! None the less you look stunning and I'm loving this look! Absolutely going to try to recreate it myself

When beauty gurus do videos like this it makes me wonder why the hell anyone still spend $30-100 on one product
Ariel Pippin Simply because high-end products are generally better. I only have few drugstore makeup that actually worked for me.. so for me buying drugstore makeup is usually a trial-and-error experiment. Esp with foundations, drugstore foundations would only look good on me for just 3 hours unlike with high-end foundation which still looked good on me after 12 hours.
@@babykay7929 The Maybelline 24 hours super stay foundation is actually as good as a high end one, for me at least. It lasts a long time on my face, it's full coverage and it doesn't feel cakey or anything like that. But I agree that some drugstore products are awful. You just have to find the good ones.

M S Tried those, I ended up giving it away. Drugstore foundations are not for me. They only last for 5 hours max on me.

I agree about the satisfying part - Although I am a not a guy, I've always found that watching make-up application videos is relaxing. I always love having my make-up professionally done because the feeling of the little brushes on the skin is relaxing too!

I agree. Finding a color match is great and all, but I'd really like to see how the dupes preformed next to the high end. For me that's what makes it worth paying more money for. If I can fix a dupe that can last, I'm all in.

Tati I loved your hair in this video. I love it when you show your ears cause i's proof that you (people in general) can overcome insecurities , and something about your hair looked rooty or dandruffy or white-casty but that just made me happy. I'm not sure if you feel a lot of pressure to look perfect but, if you do, remember that imperfections make you look more human and even more beautiful

Tati! Would you consider doing a makeup centered q&a video?? For example, I always get a dark corner beside my nose in the inner corner of my eye even after concealer, what should I do?? I'm sure plenty of other suscribers have similar questions that could be addressed by the expert ;) Hope you see this!!!

Try using color correcting concealer before! I normally use a peach color because that's what works for my skin color but a pink might work better to cancel it out.
So the inner corner is a hard place to reach, when you apply your foundation and concealer I don't disturb it too much, I kinda just let it be a little cakey, also sometimes these areas can be a little bit too dark because the skin is too thin and the veins show thru, you can do color correcting. I don't know why this nose thing happen too btw
Agree, part of the point of high-end products in my mind is that they wear better, so all day check-ins would be been really helpful

Always try & use a mineral/physical sunscreen. It's better for you.
If you have oily skin and you can get the brand Biore which is an Asian brand, I highly recommend you to get the Biore Perfect Face Milk. It's super lightweight, very affordable and not greasy whatsoever. Stays matte for a good few hours. It doesn't cost me to break out either.
I love EltaMD my dermatologist suggested it for my sensitive skin. It's amazing!

PS: Am I the only one who thinks the drugstore looks the same? If not better. Price doesn't always mean high quality.
The drugstore one is so much better, it's way richer in pigment.

personally I only wear drugstore makeup and I am very pleased with the way the products perform and stay all day all night. 😄😁
asreh 1912 I just decluttered and tried on about a dozen different products to see if they should just go back to Sephora or Ulta because I find I buy EVERYTHING that I think I'll like from beauty gurus, I'm addicted to foundations especially, I have a problem? My point is when I was trying this makeup 90% of the stuff I loved were from drugstore! I had know idea I had so many amazing products from Walmart! Lol! The only thing I won't skimp on is my eyeshadow palettes! Drugstore has come ALONG way!
I don't have any high end makeup except mary lou manizer and juvia's place (which are pretty cheaper than sephora stuff). that is all everything else is drugstore brushes and all. Everything that I use every day and I don't get the hype about expensive stuff. Absolutely love them!! Agreed!
I honestly love the smell of the coty airspun, it smells like my first ever makeup product which was a powder from covergirl
You should've wore it all day and then did check in is to show how long each product lasts compared to the expensive and the cheaper version.
Packer Lover yes I really wish that happened!!!! I'd like to know how the products wore, did they crease, did the color last, foundation breakdown. If the foundation is a dupe but the drugstore brand breaksdown at end of day, I need to know that. That will definitely weigh into my decision.

Faeza Knows I think that the check-ins would've been cool nonetheless , although they are products that Tati has approved seeing how the drugstore products worked with each other could've helped certain viewers decide wether the dupe or the high end was more worth their money or if some products didn't work together very well since not every product will layer well, or remain in pristine condition throughout the day.

That would have been the most interesting thing about this whole thing... after all we can see dupes everywhere, but the wearability is not that easy to find in a honest review about dupes.
Love this! I really like the idea of doing more "Dupetorials" lol. Being a college student, but also loving makeup, it is super helpful to know what drugstore products I can use to achieve the same look and quality of high-end products at a fraction of the price! I'm always on the hunt for great affordable products and dupes

I got a Kokie mascara this weekend on your review Tati, and i LOVE it! The wand and bristles are amazing and I've never had a mascara separate my lashes like that! Even my favorite perversion from UD!

Hi Tati, I have to say that the side with the cheaper makeup or dupe, actually looked better than the other. It just looked more flawless & better blended in just about everything you put on. Much prettier! 👍
I've always wondered what it's like to have such clear skin like Tati's😅
I've had severe to mild acne since 5th grade and personally I spend more time applying concealer over my scars and bumps than I do with all the other portions of my makeup combined!
Brittany G. Well, she has a great Skin care routine, she alwats says that if you're gonna splurge, do it on skincare, but she did used to have severe cystic acne, so, a good skincare routine works amazingly.
Mariana Faría I use the Clarisonic as well, in conjunction with Differin and Clindamycin (both prescribed by my doctor) but so far I have yet to find the perfect thing for me😅
Not sure what kind of topical treatments you've used, but the only one that's worked for my acne is Facereality. It's a brand that has clinicians that work for them that evaluate your skin and help pick products out to clear your skin. And my clinician had me go back every two weeks to look at my skin and change or add any product that she thought was necessary after she looked at my skin. If you can find a Facereality place near you I highly recommend the products, but the person that evaluates your skin will obviously be different than mine and I only have experience with one woman but she was absolutely amazing !
Brittany G. tati does have clear skin, but she also has all the studio lights that makes her skin look even better! you can't compare your skin in real life to someone's skin on camera

ashley G from stores like Marshalls and TJ Maxx? Those should be real products otherwise they'd be sued for selling them. They usually get older products that didn't sell or stock that was messed up in some way, like mislabeled, or missing a color or something weird.

I kinda wish Tati had included clips of her makeup at the end of the day to compare how both sides lasted.
Usually both sides look flawless at the beginning but in my experience I notice that my drugstore eyeshadows fade more easily and my drugstore mascara have a higher tendency to smudge.
not your only video on the wet n wild foundation but it has long been my favorite cheap foundation and knowing that it's Tati approved makes me feel yes I'm doing something right I'm good at makeup after all! lol love your videos, your pretty much the only beauty youtuber I watch anymore

The drug store sides blush looks a little patchy.. NARS definitely blended better.. and the high light looks too glittery as opposed to glowy. Other than that... looks good!

The cheaper side looked prettier!! It was a very slight difference but at first I thought that side was gonna be the more expensive side because something about it seemed smoother and more vibrant. O: Loved both though! :D MORE MORE MORE!!! :D
You should do a wear test next time to see if the products have the same staying power etc. Honestly, most high end products are a rip off because they likely look and feel the same on the skin.
Please do more videos like this in the future I actually enjoyed watching this. I was surprised to see how similar the drug store brand makeup looked compared to the high-end side.

I totally bought Photo Focus. That stuff is amazing. It goes on smoothly and it actually dries down to a satin matte and make up goes over so nicely. For $5.99. it's incomparable. It's the sheeit!

The Milani setting spray is awesome. I went threw my bottle so quick cause I used it every day after I got It! I used it in a few of my videos on my channel too if you're interested.
