3:08 The levels are gained at lower thresholds, you do not gain more experience for picking an option. Also, the level in which the dusk option gets faster level ups than dawn is at level 40. You're expected to beat the game at level ~50 so this will make the end game harder since you're going at a lower level.
1:04 The weapons don't just determine the order of your abilities. They also determine stats like attack, defence, MP, AP and also Item Slots. Whereas att, def and ap are negligible, because they are not that important to begin with and can easily be upgraded with items from synthesis, the other 2, MP and item slots aren't. Having more MP improves the number of spells you can cast, the damage of those spells and the duration. The number of items slots is also very important, especially when doing late game bosses. Picking the shield will give you 8 total items slots in the end, the sword 7 and the staff only 6. BUT picking the staff will give you 2 more MP in total.
I've been playing Kingdom Hearts ever since it originally came out in 2002. I've played the first one multiple times over, the most recent being this past November for a Platinum run, and it NEVER occurred to me that I could just skip all the race nonsense like that and win easily. Just goes to show no matter how seasoned you are with a game, you can always learn something new. Great video; I hope your buddy enjoys the game just as much as we do.
Honestly? I leveled like 9 levels in destiny islands playing in Dusk, helped me a lot to reach harder areas already with a head start, can't say it was fun, but I don't regret it haha!!!
@@Crimsonrosso Yeah! I would wager it would be the same pre-requisites as you said for the second day as well, having to beat each of them one-on-one first. I always went to Tidus last so I can’t confirm that, but definitely know it’s possible!
@@KH_4Lyf_DBZ interesting! I always assumed it only unlocked day 2, mainly due to me not really trying it until the 2nd day! I guess it was just hardwired into me when i played it when i was younger
@@Crimsonrosso most people would not know about the 3v1 on day one since when talking to tidus after all 1v1 people would think it would just trigger the 1v1 again
I'm going to add to some of your points. 1. the weapons only affect WHEN you get your abilities, not what abilities you get. You will still have all of the abilities by level 100. 2. I can't really add on much here. 3. when parrying, ALWAYS jump and then attack, so Sora does the downswing in the air. It comes out faster and is way more consistent then doing it on the ground. ( this is more of a mid to late-game tip but guard sucks compared to just parrying you get way more knockback with it than parrying, which makes it harder to retaliate, and there's more beginning and end lag with it too.) 4. the race doesn't really matter. yeah, getting pretty stones can help with munny early on but you get so much munny anyway. plus, you get most armor and potions from chest and bosses 5. what i just said in 4.
a thing to take note about the weapon choice is if you choose to sacrifice the staff then you start with only 1AP instead of 3AP. meaning that once you start leveling up and getting abilities you can't equip as many as you otherwise could. late game its not gonna matter, but early game it will.
for the tech point tip I would fight selphie bc when she jumps at you with her jump rope/nunchucks and you hit it back at her it gives you 2 tech points and I would just repeat it bc it doesn't defeat her
@@Crimsonrosso Slow and steady wins the race man. And even all this is just a part of that race. You're enjoying what you're doing, and helping us ALL out as well because of it. More than enough.
@@Crimsonrosso Plus, may I also say, lots of RUclips channels, only a very small percent cover KH, one of the best vibes a human can encounter. And you're one of that percentile. So lucky!!!
They (far as I can tell) took out parry in kh3 and I’m livid. Point is, learn to parry; it’s quicker, better, and easier than blocking, you save an AP point and it will literally save your life.
You mentioned potion farming and grinding at Destiny Islands but left out the easiest method where you can do both at once 😂 Once the heartless show up and you get the key blade, just smack away at shadows. They drop potions and hp orbs, you can spam the save point, and it's much easier.
Only picking middle answers grants you the natural route. Where you get niether of the boosts or weakening to your EXP. Its the ones you pick if you don’t wanna deal with the exp add ons basically

To add to your final tip of your 1v3 battle against Tidus, Selphie and Wakka - you can actually do this on the first day as well!
