Man if I ever made a video like this it'd be way too long lol. Games that I actually finish are the exception for me! Much more common for me to get most of the way through a game, and then fall off it and never go back Octopath is so fantastic, especially the second game!! OT2 is actually one of the few RPGs I've finished lol (still have like half of the final chapters left for OT1... and haven't done the post-game for either oop)

Ooh some controversial picks here. Long ramblings below (you’ve been warned): I actually really liked Pokemon Scarlet/Violet despite all its technical shortcomings. It definitely has its problems like not scaling the levels of the gym leaders/titan Pokemon/team star leaders and all the glitches, but overall it was a good time and got me back into the series after Sword/Shield made me lose interest for a while. As your resident Fire Emblem friend, I’ll recommend finishing up Fates but it’s definitely got its flaws. Birthright is just kinda boring, Conquest is insanely difficult and Revelation is just too big with a narrative that’s just kinda bad. There’s no real reason to use most of the units in Revelation over the main royals who are more story-relevant and wreck shit gameplay-wise. It’s worth a try but I won’t be coming back anytime soon. Super Paper Mario is a game you gotta finish at some point. It’s different from the other Paper Mario games but in a way that’s good and not Sticker Star. Plus the story is amazing. I’m glad you’re FINALLY getting around to Octopath Traveler. It definitely has its flaws (it can be really grindy at times, whoever you choose first is locked into your party so they get very overleveled and the 8 stories probably should connect to each other better) but overall a game I recommend. Just don’t do the optional super boss at the end, I gave up on that one after one attempt because of how much I would have to grind to even stand a chance.

Lmao, that thumbnail 🤣 I dropped Octopath Traveler as well shortly after playing it, the game is gigantic and endless with grinding requirements. I'd love to get back into it one day though.

Nice picks. I really wanted to enjoy Pokemon ScaVio but the amount of glitches I came across made me drop it completely. I'm shocked that game was given the go-ahead. FF13 is very overhated in my opinion and that also goes for the rest of the trilogy. I'm interested to hear your thoughts on those when you get to that point.

I love the drive gauge trick... I remember testing the limits of it cause there's all sorts of instances that it can happen. So if you leave a world and go back in it'll refill your drive, if you go to another world it will also refill, if you save then reset. I believe you also spawn with full drive form. So I'm guessing its a safety net thing added into a bug they couldn't quite fix. The bug isn't resetting the drive guage its resetting the drive form. A couple cool tricks I noticed. You can retain the drive form of a Party Member that disappears between cutscenes. Example I discovered Goofy and Valour Form to fight Demyx in Hollow Bastion. If you enter the cutscene with Valour Form equipped you are still in form after Goofy is unconscious. I dunno of many times Donald abandons the party without Goofy. But I think I remember noticing it'll also kick you from drive form after cutscenes where both Donald and Goofy get kicked from the Party unless its Master or later added Limit Form. Also can't remember if it worked on any other challenges in the poohs book but the cave one I'm pretty sure you can use wisdom form go into the area talk to pooh then zip through like a run and gun.

I am now just realize just how stubborn i am and how high my tolerance 😂 cause i play all of the game in this vid and beat them (except for paper mario and xenoverse cause i'm never play them) : 1. I like fire emblem fates, while the story is "not the best." I like some of the characters and the gameplay is fun to me. 2. FF 13 is a weird one, some part i love it, some part i just wish to skip it. I do love the music and lightning is a very cool character. I do believe that FF 13 is not a good game but a good trilogy. 3. Octopath is something...pften times i want go bash my head to the wall due to the grind. Just need to force myself to spend 30-60 minutes everyday to grind...everytging else is good tho. 4. Yeah the pokemon is terrible as single player game. The only good this is the PVP is one of the best and most flexible in the series

Dream Drop Distance is a game I'm extremely mixed about. It has some really high highs such as a solid world lineup (Musketeers and Fantasia being my favourites in the entire series.) an OST that's fantastic but really underrated and as broken as it was, Flowmotion was a cool gimmick, but there were also some pretty low lows such as bosses not staggering, the combat being "Spam Balloonra to win", confusing story and the Drop Gauge being really pointless. Still, solid review as always. Excited to see you cover the rest of the series.

Save to say You arent that into kh. From what i see the series does too much stuff you dont like. Thats fine..still cool to see someone not like it that much but still not act like people that do enjoy it ar weardos. Have anice life

The naivity thibg is aculy sora just simply beeing over confident muxed with a slightly bad translation. In Japanesse It makes more sense as the dialoge is writen inna way wher i formation isnt given to him more then he needs to. Like captain pete is just called captain so his reaction to see pete makes more sense. Its weardly translatet thats all. The plotpoints made sense though and nomura did plan this for a while but Square wantet kh 3 so he gad to make ddd then not the game he wantwt to do in kh first.

Well said! Dream Drop Distance was one of the few 3DS games I just couldn't get into. Didn't enjoy the gameplay as much as the main games in the Kingdom Hearts franchise 😅

this game truly began the "kh confusing plot" the spirits while adorable were bad gameplay wise, plus that minigame raising them was busted the flowmotion was stupidly broken, why didn't they just unlock more as the game progress balloon, that all we could of gotten treasure planet, huge f why does the drop mechanic exist it doesn't help that this game completely drop the plot for xehanort to take sora body, wth Lastly, lying about kh3 being the next game, Graceful for the ports but 0.2 and SPECIALLY the mobile games mess with kh3 itself There is some positive tho, I think drop are the best, even more than gummi ship. twewy cast was great...thought I'd had more to say, rip

oof, that's a pretty savage score. But I have to admit I didn't really notice a lot of the issues since I was so in love with the gameplay. Plus the hype ending really helped to boost the game for me. Solid review all around!

Another interesting thing, since you compared Terra's story to Star Wars Ep. 3: Master Eraqus is also voiced by Mark Hamill, or Luke Skywalker. And Master Xehanort was voiced by the late, great Leonard Nimoy. In fact, KH3 was one of the last projects he worked on before he passed away.

As far as other games that have job systems, the ones that jump out to me are Octopath Traveler, Bravely Default, Various Fire Emblem games, and I guess most CRPG's like Baldurs Gate, Pillars of Eternity, etc if you want to consider job/class systems similar 😂 I've never heard of that costume quest game. It looks interesting! 😮

I legit love the job systems in Miitopia and Fire Emblem, it's always exciting choosing different options for characters and watch them grow with what job class you assigned them to!

BUT CRIMSON I HATE FUN!

I think Calasmos being the real villain that the Hero was destined to fight, actually strengthens Mordegon's character. He's not just some cliche reincarnated evil villain, he's actively interfering with fate to gain power and control the world. Calasmos is just a prop in his master plan. But yeah, the time travel stuff isn't great because it undermines the struggles the party went through throughout the game. It's an interesting plot twist, but it could've been executed better imo.

It weird fight Seifer for xp UT don't grind to get the extra 1 or 2 ap. Which you need 2 way more

There is another spot you can fight Seifer in the beginning, it is at a point i think when you are heading to the 7 wonders of twilight town. In the sandlot you can fight him one time. Leave the area and reenter and you can fight him again, as many times as you want. I just started the series over and am at kh2 right now. Got myself an extra level doing that.

I took a hiatus after starting the post game. I thought the initial ending was great (Bittersweet but it made it good) but the time travel fix I wasnt a fan of and I felt ruined the ending. I do plan on going back to it though to at least truly finish the content.
