hi Joe, it is a misconception that the sampler is free, after getting wind of the existance i downloaded and installed the "free" sampler wich after starting the instrument it asked me for a email and an activation code, making it a useless FREE app there was a text in the start screen wich said that a serial would be inluded to activate the sampler when you buy a pack so, no, not FREE
Thanks for your comment! I know they have plans to release FREE content for this Sampler so fingers crossed the player will be free with those, I’ll follow up with the developers and see what I can gather.
@@Joe-blogcomposer How did that follow up go? I emailed them and was told some random response about "it's not available to purchase". Sorry, but if the only way to get it is by paying for something, it's not free. Being part of a paid product and not available any other way, and is integral to using the paid product, makes it the paid product and not free. I think you've kinda been taken for a ride here, producing content for them under false pretenses. I know some other creators are pretty angry at this and have pulled their videos.
It’s early days yet in all honesty, I’m waiting too see if it’s going to be available “for free” with the Free samples they are going to be releasing for it, or if they have to purchase a library to access it. This is the reply I had “So we’re not selling the soundbox engine, that is correct. It’s our “player” that comes with any library that a user purchases, but at the same time it’s fully unlocked so users can create their own instruments too. Any playable library that we will be releasing will run on this platform. Even the free libraries that we will release in the future.” Waiting on a reply regarding access to soundbox when people who haven't purchased any paid libraries being able to download and use Soundbox with the free content?
Here’s the response: “There will be a lot of free content for Soundbox, as there is with all of our apps, but they are available for users who own each product. Therefore free instruments for Soundbox will be available for Soundbox users. It will be impossible to offer free downloads and free apps for everyone, although in a perfect world that would be the perfect fit.” In summary you’ll have to buy a library to access Soundbox.
Great tool! Good replacement of the bloated #Kontakt, and it’s even on #iOS / #iPadOS, too. Business model is communicated overly complicated. It basically comes down to: 1) a FREE demo version including a nice demo library (on iPad). 2) a FULL version that comes with any paid library sound pack, that will unlock ALL editing and exporting features. So yeah, that’s basically a steal. Jumped in on iPad for 19,99 euro by using the current promo, otherwise it would be 29,99 or 39,99 for bigger sound packs. So still a steal, especially when compared to #NativeInstruments.
I do appreciate sound design like this, where it sounds like non music physical material, yet the pitch of each note can be clearly heard, consistently from low to high range: 17:20
I'd say a strong competitor that's been around longer is Tal Sampler. It has four layers that you can cross fade between as well as MPE support and SFZ import. Sure it's not free but it's not that expensive and once you own it, the possibilities are endless. I use it with Disco DSP Bliss. Another very powerful sampler.
Interesting that it seems to be on a similar wavelength to Kontakt 8 in terms of manipulating the samples through the gui. However Soundbox is coming out of the "box"with this mindset whereas with K8 there is a lot of previous baggage. And of course the price point is very attractive. It will be interesting to see how it develops.
More brilliance from Audiomodern, what a great idea. Cinematic isn't really my sound though atm, perhaps some time in the future. Nice presentation, thanks.
Seems deceptive advertising has become the norm. That said if they had just stated right off that if you buy one library for as little as $30 you get full access to the sampler, then they'd have more integrity. And for $30 it might make a very nifty sampler particularly with MPE support and the ability to import SFZ which are libraries I create and there are a gazillion online.
This plug in is a scam, it is not free and the sound presets are mediocre, In it's current state there's no round robin, no release triggers, no x fading between dynamics, no proper filter modulation . doesn't support Time Stretch, etc, and the MPE doesn't work properly is not a true MPE, This is very, very far from Kontakt, is a scam a mediocre plugin. Also the company and the marketing of this plug in is very very misleading

It looks like they learned from Soundpaint’s business model of low priced individual libraries.
yes...with soundbox I can drag and drop samples easily without preparing it first

No contender to Kontakt although if the community can add good sounding libraries to share without any license fee's it might become a contender
This reminds me of Soundpaint.
Was going to say the same thing, sadly with Soundpaint you can't drag and drop samples into it. You've gotta prepare it first.
I feel this is easyier to use then soundpaint, but soundpaint has more flexabilty

Could you elaborate on the problem with its MPE implementation?
Not free people... FYI.
They do state it’s “Free with any library” but I do agree it could be clearly and calling it Free can misleading
Audiomodern is ripping you of, get more info!
