Very true, great point! Hyaluronic Acid is a great ingredient but it will suck away moisture from your skin if you're not properly hydrating first as it can absorb up to 1000x its weight in water, it's kind of a double edged sword. Yes it boosts hydration but it shouldn't be the sole thing used for hydrating dry skin! If you only use that, it will pull moisture from your skin AND any positive results go away in 24 hours! A great substance but by no means a miracle one ;)
Love Kristi, but a lot of the beauty community seems to think people want fuller coverage, matte foundations in the colder months and I can’t understand it. Celina Antony omg it makes so much more sense with that in mind, thanks for sharing this information. I was really wondering why they went with a sorta cheap looking plastic for a Holiday release. Now I get it!
The way the sides of the packaging look it does honestly look like there woukd be led lights ! Idk if your being honest or just guessing but if you are guessing I would say that's a really good guess ! Not spending all my spending money on that ha

But I do have to say the essence micro eyebrow pencil OMG best dupe for the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz and benefit precisely my brow. I'm so happy that I don't have to pay $35 Canadian any more for those pencils
IDK I feel like you might have just used too much product with the tinted moisturizer... like I wouldn’t put on more than what I would use for a regular moisturizer and it looked to me like you used a lot more than that. But also like you said, you just prefer something with more coverage that you don’t have to build up as much, so to each their own :)
I definitely prefer very minimal coverage & agree, based on my experience with these kinds of products [& just thinning out my foundation/concealer with moisturizer]. If you're going to go in with a skin tint/tinted moisturizer, you have to commit to the low coverage. Building it up is just going to make it look like garbage -- you're caking on multiple layers of emollient pigment that has no dry-down. I definitely respect her preferences, but I do think the texture suffered from the over-application. And even for my dewy preferences, sometimes spot-powdering can smooth out the surface of the skin, because sometimes the pigment lays on top of the skin rather than sinking in & "becoming one" with it.
I love how real and honest you are in your videos, I personally appreciate you not using filters and turning down the lights to show how the products sit on your skin. I've seen so many beauty influencers trying to push products just to stay on the PR list. That's why your my go to beauty influencer!! You give us the real tea 🙌
Not sure if many people will see this but apparently the Revolution Skin Finish in shades Luminescence and Opalescent have a similar highlight/ lit from within effect to the Hourglass Ambient powders ✌️

Exactly my thoughts. I only use tinted moisturizer, never foundation, and she used a lot in my opinion. I use it sparingly to not have a heavy makeup feel.
I live on a desolate island, all by my lonesome. This place is named "I Have No Strong Feelings One Way or the Other About the Colourpop No Filter Concealer, it was Okay but I Finished it & was Happy to Try Something Else I Liked More" Island.
Talking about the CP concealer “I love the hydration from it” Girl. On my skin it in dehydrating. I’m in the “my under eyes have never looked so bad” camp.
I'm living for the retro eye look. That's exactly the eye look I go for, when I want a small bump from casual to casual/glam. Also girl, you channeled me after you set your face and couldn't find your fan, that is literally me everytime...
I feel like so many youtubers I've seen review this tinted moisturizer applied it like a full coverage, It CC Cream, foundation type thing. Like full skincare first, plus primer and several pumps of moisturizer applied with a foundation brush/sponge. Is this because it's what everyone's preference to get the highest coverage possible? Or were y'all given the impression that's the type of thing this product would provide? I can't fathom coating my face in so much moisturizer that it can't all absorb and leaving that mess on my face for the day. So, adding a hint of foundation and doing that doesn't seem like a big difference to me.
right ive been seeing the same. its difficult finding a decent review for the tinted moisturiser cos so many YTers slather it on, then layer a very full coverage concealer & thick contour. whats the point of using tinted moisturiser if youre painting it on like a foundation?
Since my skin is so dry I don’t mind a skin tint in the winter. I’d love to see you use less of the product and give your opinion again. I feel like it was heavy because maybe they intended you to use less. Also that top you’re wearing is the best color in the world and I think you ARE my real dad
I'm not going to lie to you my terrible eyesight mixed with the angle of your picture made me think you were pulling your face in to create the funny double chin look and I was like A MOOD and then I realized your head was just tilted and I felt very dumb. Just so you know😂😂
Kristi you are bloody hilarious😂🤣 I really appreciate it when you turn the lights down so we can actually see what products look like.. cause honestly without you doing that absolutely everything looks fantastic all of the time 😘
3 looks with the so jaded palette?? I know everyone is doing it but there’s sooooo many looks you could do and it’s so affordable so I’d love to see as many as possible!
Same. I could watch people do looks with this palette all day. I have it and I'm obsessed, but I'm also not hugely experimental unless I've seen someone else do it.
This eye look is more relatable for me and actually makes me want to buy this pallet. As much as I love the ig eye looks they’re not realistic. But this is! I love it and love you 💞
@@keilidhseashore99 she had already moisturized so putting on more moisturizer and overdoing it will of course cause the skin to overhydrated and dry after because it's called a tint moisturizer for a reason.
She also applied a lot more then average on the first side before layering. The left side already looked pretty full coverage when she blended it out but maybe that’s because the right side got soaked up by the beauty blender. Idk I love her but I feel like she’s not the person I would go to for light coverage products.
Just for reference, the 2 “highlighters” you used ARE in another one of their 6 pan holiday palettes. I know some people use the yellow is one to set under their eyes and the pinkish one to buff. Love you Kristi!!!
I always use Dewy /moisturized foundation or tinted moisturizer in fall/winter because my skin is very dry and with psoriasis and colder months make me flare up , I could never use a full cover foundation :(
Thank you for keeping the lights turned up besides for specific moments! When videos are filmed without beauty lighting, I feel like I have to turn my screen brightness up. You just can’t see the rest of the details as well. I do appreciate turning the lights down to really see the foundation, so i think the way you do that momentarily is a great compromise!

Hahahaha!! Your comment cracked me up!! Did you feel guilty?? Kristi got mad at you in particular? hahaha that was funny! I once paused one of her videos when I had to answer the phone, and that happened to me too. But only I think she dropped something, and said "where'd you go?! Work with me here!" I looked around for a minute thinking I was being pranked lol. Love from Miami
For me, if I’m going to use something like a tinted moisturizer I just really want it to have spf in it. There’s nothing about this CP one that would make e choose it over my Korean BB creams.

I’m pretty sure CP is coming out w a hydrating concealer bc they changed the name on a Ulta of the current concealer!! I personally hope they expand on this HA collection!!! ❤️🙌
If they do that, I'm gonna be hella conflicted!! I was planning on buying the Makeup Revolution Conceal & Hydrate Concealer, because I like the original but would prefer less prep-work for it to look smooth on my under eyes. But if Colourpop comes out with one, too... UGH. INDECISION.
I justify it like this $80 for 6 products (so what like $12 each) that you’re legit never gonna work your way through. I have the standard hourglass ambient lighting pallet worth 3 pans and I seriously use it every single day. I mean don’t get me wrong that pallet is the most expensive thing I own 😂 but for a natural highlighter that I can wear to any occasion and to work as a nurse and not feel like I look insane is worth it
Jessie J 271 yeah. I always think about .. yeah ok that palette is cute but how many shades am I actually gonna use and use up? Usually it’s like 1/4 of the shades so then I have to see if , for the price, it’s worth it.
The hourglass palette is worth it! It’s also so much cheaper overseas, in Australia we pay $122 for that palette. Their mini blushes/bronzer and lighting powders are between $35-$37 and the full sizes are between $57-$61 each so the palette is really good value. You need the smallest amount of product and light hand will give you such beautiful results.
There is only one highlighter in the ambient edit ghost- the other two are finishing powders- I am sure you know that but in the video it came across a little confusing! 😂 so you get two finishing/I strobe/1 bronzer and 2 blushes for those who are wondering!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️ I LOVE THAT EYE LOOK! YES Fall!
Noir Alibi yeah.. it looked like she used the finishing powders as highlighters.. but didn’t use the actual “highlighter” as a highlighter.. I adore Kristi and I think maybe she just didn’t realize it- when you buy a product yourself- I think you pay more attention to what is in it. She’s getting tons of products all the time- so I get it. I just love their 6 pan palettes so I hate for their finishing powders to get critiqued as highlighters.. and it explains the value more because you can do your entire face with that palette- esp. if you want to do something really glowy and radiant. I have it- I love it. I also have their confessions lip and I really love it as well.😍 110 bucks is crazy though! 😂
I´ve seen a lot of people making the same mistake, they use the finishing powders as highlighters, and of course they are not really shiny. The actual highlighter is subtle though, not a blinding one at all,but it has some more shine
Susan Johnfauno im totally with you. I just turned 36. I probably wouldn’t have liked hourglass in my 20s but I think their products are killer for people 35+ - esp. their finishing powder :)
I'd like to see what the tinted moisturizer looks like on bare skin, since you moisturized, used a moisturizing primer AND the tinted moisturizer. I'm not surprised it fels heavy after all that moisturizing....
The colourpop tinted moisturizer is my #1 favorite foundation of all time. I have ridiculously dry acne prone skin and it makes my skin look absolutely flawless. Its literally so good

Rose Watson thx fam I just couldn’t help it the bold font made me giggle
MsFears yeah it was a joke on the font but I actually really agree because tinted moisturizer seems like such an “easy breezy” summer product but when you think about when your skin needs the moist moisture I definitely think about winter 🤷♀️ also, the idea that complexion products are seasonal is kind of weird to me in general
it's a tinted moisturizer so I feel like it can't be compared to a foundation which is what some people are used to wearing
The slight disdain of "...that's coconut" once you figured out the scent of the primer has me ROLLING
The hourglass ghost palette was originally supposed to light up... I know someone who works for hourglass and last minute they couldn't get it to work
Celina Antony omg it makes so much more sense with that in mind, thanks for sharing this information.
The Essence highlight in shade "be my highlight" looks just like that and it's like $4!!!!!!!!!
I love essence high lighters!!!
saaaaaame!!! so beautiful
Shit really. !! I gotta try it. I don't own anything by hour glass cuz it's too expensive for my wallet. But I do have to say the essence micro eyebrow pencil OMG best dupe for the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz and benefit precisely my brow. I'm so happy that I don't have to pay $35 Canadian any more for those pencils
Tysm!!
Yes this is what I was going to say. The nude sunlighter is the one that comes to mind...I believe that is what it’s called
I would love to see a full face of "worst selling makeup" from sephora! You could sort each category by bestselling and buy the very last thing!
Absolutely. Thin layers if you insist upon building it up, which I don't suggest. Tinted moisturizers are my jam for everyday use.
I love how real and honest you are in your videos, I personally appreciate you not using filters and turning down the lights to show how the products sit on your skin. I've seen so many beauty influencers trying to push products just to stay on the PR list. That's why your my go to beauty influencer!! You give us the real tea 🙌
Where is the "you're not my real dad" merch?!?! I freaking need it!!!
Right??! I need that shit ASAP.
Where is the “RawBeautyKristi is My Real Dad” collab COLOURPOP?!?!
Here it is 😊😍
Not sure if many people will see this but apparently the Revolution Skin Finish in shades Luminescence and Opalescent have a similar highlight/ lit from within effect to the Hourglass Ambient powders ✌️
“Looks bigger online but it’s about teeny tine” 😂😂😂👏🏽
Chaylen Andolino that’s what she said😝
I love how you're like "oh I didn't go TOO hard with this eye look" meanwhile my jaw is on the floor because it's so STUNNING
Was in the middle of doing my medical terminology homework for my test tomorrow and saw that you posted a video and clicked on it instantly. If my professor has a problem with it he’ll just have to deal with it because you’re my real dad.
I enjoy the lengthy wrap ups. Gives a good detailed “is it shit” 😂🖤
I felt rushed just listening to you! Give us lengthhh.. and no i'm not a size queen.. ok maybe a little ;)
I really like the soft Hourglass highlight you put on. Such a pretty glow within type of look.
Horglass is for more natural looking makeup
Tinted moisturizer may feel heavy cuz you used a ton lol
Sam Greenwald thats what i was thinking but didn’t wanna say it 😂
Exactly my thoughts.
Hahahh so true
I read the first sentence and just thought, "Oh wow, that must be wonderful!" till I realised it was a metaphor! 😂
Saywhatnow
Oh man, i didn't know someone else was on the island too!!
A lot more people live here than I thought! 😄
I would love to see more looks with the Just so Jaded palette and also more first impressions. Thanks
Kristi: This isn't my best eyelook I've ever done
Me: I NEED TO PUT THAT ON MY FACE RIGHT NOW!!
Disappointed I didn’t hear you call them colour bob or colour mom lmao
she did at like 2:30!
thank you for turing the lights down so we can see when you get texture from a product. It's helpful.
I would rise from my coffin to press play on a kristi vid
I disagree. I think more hydration during the fall/winter season makes complete sense. We tend to be dryer and need the moisture.
OH MY GOD... your reaction to the camera shutting off is literally the funniest thing I’ve ever seen
The hourglass lipstick holder/container reminds me So Much of those "old timey" cigarettes (cigarette holders)
Just so you know😂😂
Kristen Hutchins omg, same!😅
Kristi you are bloody hilarious😂🤣 I really appreciate it when you turn the lights down so we can actually see what products look like.. cause honestly without you doing that absolutely everything looks fantastic all of the time 😘
I absolutely love how we can see your pores and everything is very real and honest! Thank you thank you
3 looks with the so jaded palette?? I know everyone is doing it but there’s sooooo many looks you could do and it’s so affordable so I’d love to see as many as possible!
Same. I could watch people do looks with this palette all day. I have it and I'm obsessed, but I'm also not hugely experimental unless I've seen someone else do it.
I agree with this
Finding your channel is one of the best things I've done for my soul in 2019. I feel like we are so similar and would be best friends! ♥️
This eye look is more relatable for me and actually makes me want to buy this pallet. As much as I love the ig eye looks they’re not realistic. But this is! I love it and love you 💞
Kristi: Cakes on tinted moisturizer
Also Kristi: "Feels pretty cakey to me"
Katie Snyder 😂😂 I was just about to say the same thing.
Its supposed to be buildable....
She didn't cake it. Its supposed to be buildable so, putting on more than one layer should've worked
When you were roasting the camera I was just waiting for a "you're not my real dad"
You should do a “just bloopers” videos
The timing of this was great, I was having the biggest panic attack and looking for something to distract me and this popped up. Thank you so much! Lots of Love
Oh no! I am so so sorry! I hope it passes quickly and you are able to have a calm, relaxed, stress free night
I hope you feel better!
Ugh me too. I hope you feel better ❤
Your like my best friend in my mind😝. All my life all I've ever wanted was an hourglass blush palette....one day💁🏼..love the look
Tell me why my WiFi cut out for a second to come back to you saying don’t ever cut me off like that again 😂
That's because she's your real dad haha.
For me, if I’m going to use something like a tinted moisturizer I just really want it to have spf in it. There’s nothing about this CP one that would make e choose it over my Korean BB creams.
Why does this eye look look so simple yet so dramatic??? I love it.
Don’t even care what you talk about here you’ve made my day by uploading. Love you Kristi. :)
Kristi’s camera straight up said “you aren’t my real dad” and cut her off 😂😂
If only I was ever this early for any appointments in my life...
Or work...
Yeah but like... appts are so much work. Having to get up and get ready. Then you have to leave the house. Then have the anxiety of getting their on time. Then dealing with a long check in. Waiting in a room with a bunch of nasty sick kids. Just to be called back and stuffed in a waiting room for a half hour... just to talk to the dr or person you have an appt with, for 5 minutes. Hours of work for one 5 min appt lmao.
Those highlighting powders are beautiful! I may have to invest in that palette. Maybe for my birthday this month?
I literally cannot stop watching you! I have NEVER been into makeup reviews/tutorials etc. but YOU are the most adorable, beautiful, funny and inspiring thing on RUclips! I am a (43 year old woooommmann) and just am so excited about makeup now. Thanks for giving me reprieve from my busy life as a wife, mom and Chiropractor. I love you. That is all.
Freaking cracking up over here “everything else looked like total buttshit” 💀
coming from an Aussie going into spring now, the tinted moisturiser is PERFECT timing for us! xx
COB?? also I'm obsessed w this eye look, even though it's nothing fancy I feel like it looks so flattering with your eye color!!
the fact that you can take colors that don’t seem to go together at all and make it into a gorgeous eye look. like wtf you’re magical
Omg this look is SO PRETTY on you!! You did like a blushy look with the deep red looks stunning on you ❤️ love you!!
"Better make me look like.... Natalie Portman" 😂😂👌👌❤❤
I feel like the launch is actually a good time. The hyaluronic acid will help in the dry winter months!
My battery went dead at the best part😭 when Kristi does her eyes & wow man 😍 bloody gorgeous!! 😘 I would love to make a collage of all of Kristi's eye makeup looks, I think it would make a brilliant coffee table book!!
I love you! You're so normal and real and FUNNY! I absolutely love that you leave your outtakes at the end of your videos. Hilarious! Keep up the awesome, honest content!
You should totally do a “tutorial” with that bottom blue/purple quad 😁
When you space out and come back to her scolding the camera and you take it to heart
Yassssss!!!!! I haven’t watched it yet but I’m so excited to !!! That sweater looks amazing on you 💚😍
Ahh thank you so much!!
🤗Omgggg you’re so welcome!!! You just made my LIFE !! Fan girling so hard rn cause you commented back to meeeee. 🤣💕💕
UGH. INDECISION.
I like mixing tinted moisturizer with my foundation! Makes everything look so flawless and pretty ☺️
those eyeshadow colours with your eye colour are absolutely the prettiest combo i've ever seen. you make me want your eye colour so bad!
That “peace out” at the end had me rolling. LEGIT HOW MY DAY ENDED. Yay for 30s related adulting life choices! 😂😂
I justify it like this $80 for 6 products (so what like $12 each) that you’re legit never gonna work your way through. I have the standard hourglass ambient lighting pallet worth 3 pans and I seriously use it every single day. I mean don’t get me wrong that pallet is the most expensive thing I own 😂 but for a natural highlighter that I can wear to any occasion and to work as a nurse and not feel like I look insane is worth it
Jessie J 271 THIS! This is exactly my thought process! 👍🏽
Ann C yikes! That’s way too much Sephora is wild
Lolllll when she yelled at the camera 😂
I was like OKAY! I WON'T CUT YOU OFF! I PROMISE! 🤣
I died laughing 😂
I love how honest you were about the lighting and filters etc, appreciated that so much as it's something I've wondered about for a while xx
I need that shadow pallet, I’m a huge crystal collection, you’re look is so beautiful. Blessings 🖤🖤🖤
YES Fall!
Abby Roggenkamp yessss!!!
Me: *in bed, ready for sleep*
Kristi: *uploads video at 11 pm*
Me: ... welp, guess sleep can wait
The colourpop tinted moisturizer is my #1 favorite foundation of all time. I have ridiculously dry acne prone skin and it makes my skin look absolutely flawless. Its literally so good
Seriously, I’d come to this channel just to listen to you talk about random shit, even non makeup related. Your personality and humor are pure gold. Lol pleaseeeee don’t EVER change a thing. Love you! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
