this is a very special one-of-a-kind song. the best my generation produced imo. if i were a music critic i would describe Don't You Evah as " A bit of a paradox because it's slick-upbeat and super chill at the same time." It still captures THAT feeling everytime I listen to it.
It's such an uplifting song too...especially for those certain individuals in tough or abusive relationships. "Don't you nevah be down. I said don't evah 'cause it's gonna keep him hangin around. Bet you think you have to but it doesn't feel right."
What an amazing voice and what an amazing ear. He’s so awesome that Conor Oberst made a split EP for the Home Series. It’s amazing, this EP recorded in the basement of Conor’s childhood home.
@EliasElElias That's cause he's sampling his voice into one of the keys on the keyboard. He's holding it down to arm and record his voice into a sample bank that can be triggered later by pressing the same key.
This was recorded on 10 November 2007. 'The Beast and Dragon, Adored' is from 2005's 'Gimme Fiction' - certainly not "the new song". I very much hope they do a session to promote 'Transference'.
this song is so awesome, ive been listening/watching for about a half hour now over and over. i previewed some of their songs on the same album that this is on and i just didnt find anything i really liked. if anyone knows this band well can they tell me if their other albums have funky stuff like this?
@MrMagneticPelican Thats because they dropped the volume on the keyboard n drums and raised the guitar and bass. then they raised the drums, n piano got raised earlier in the song
Bass is the most important ingredient in every Spoon song, but it’s nice to hear the clear, ringing high and mid notes in the guitar…and that’s how you know I’m a lead guitar player. 😝
loll!! I like the song but yeaa i mean in this vid the main singers voice sumtxs and his facial expressions...loll!! though we aren't perf. its still an awesome tune!

I wish I had his voice. It would make me feel so cool.
One of the most underrated bands man.. They 🎸
Such a good song. Gets your damn foot tapping.
+LordFridge1 Literally was tapping my foot as I read this comment.
Love the beat, great to dance to, very original. I give it a 100.
this one goes to 11

Can't believe this song is over ten years old already. Time flies!
The blending of their voice/lyrics at the end...
Remind me of the bassline of "Evil" by Interpol, simple and effective
extremely catchy. I'm hooked on this song. probably played it a hundred times.
I still hear this and "The Underdog" playing at Coffee shops and public places all the time ; that's a testament to a good band 🤙🏻
Drummer is genius
He's clearly getting all the ladies
How can anyone give this recording a thumbs down?! It's amazing!!!

Now that I like. Simple, effective
These guys are Awesome!!!!
What a band! This is an awesome performance
YOU GUYS ARE WONDERFUL!!
Spoon is so good!

Love it!
Nice!!! Thank you!
All their music is footstomping good!
Where is the talk back Jim!?!

@@connaught60 T H A T !
Fantastic Song!
Gotta love MPR's The Current. What an amazing station
So good!...so very good!
The band that most do the songs track in american movies! Totally awesome!
all the time;)
Finer Feelings is their best song imo. I was the 666th thumbs up!
love the effects at the end, whatever it is

wish i was in a band like spoon
The kings of minimalism.
what a voice
Nice!!
I didn't expected George Clooney playing drums here!
Still magnificent
If these guys had any grove this tune would rock.
@4jonah
they were doing an in studio for their new album and must have thrown this in. The new song (Beast and Dragon) was posted a few days ago.
What is with you aaaholes who watch a good video and don’t leave a thumbs up?
sambas, heck yeah.
My favorite part of this song is the bass line. Too bad you can't hear it in this vid.
bass sounds good to me 😉

Turn the bassist up!
no need to turn him up when he's so jacked! jokes aside he's actually fairly audible
Sounds like he's palm-muting.

Funny how despite all the negative comments, this upload has 643 thumbs up and 4 thumbs down. :) Carry on or enjoy the tunes. \o/
awesome Gibson
que buen temaaaaaaaaaaa !
❤❤❤❤❤❤
@aciddwashed Honestly they took that song and ran with it; this version is just overflowing with Spoon's inventiveness
Yep.
Jim wasn't there to record the talkback.
Since when does George clooney play the drums?
Wish they'd chorused or double tracked his voice on the chorus - that's the part I liked the best!
Fuck.. yes...
They were totally on the 'Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga' tour.
This one is so much better than the original by 'The Natural History'.
loll!! I like the song but yeaa i mean in this vid the main singers voice sumtxs and his facial expressions...loll!! though we aren't perf. its still an awesome tune!
This feels rushed compared to the studio version
does anyone know if they will be at Austin city limits music festival?
@melonface57 I think of that every day
I really wish I knew what chord Britt is playing at 0:40... does anyone know?!
What effects does britt use on his guitar in this song? anyone know?
Does anyone know what kind of guitar Britt has here?
@aciddwashed Whats the original song?
@Tillkila Craig Ferguson!!
I've always felt worried about Rob's bass positioning. It seems very uncomfortable, but solid playing nonetheless.
hey is that Raj from the Big Bang Theory on keyboards? lol
they use good gear
The base in this track is awesome so gloomy.
@ChriSlowpoke113 I sure as fuck hope so.
The singer reminds me of the dude from the cage the elephant
*11 October - apologies, I'm Australian! :-P
its so fast they should slow it down a bit otherwise good
1:31 when i see a fly on my keyboard
Brit Daniel is so fucking hot
tabs ?

4 angry thumbs passed through here.
Is it just me or does the drummer look a little like Keith Moon in this video?
LOUDER bass please
Why is he in a human jar? O.o
2:14 I CAN PLAY DRUMS WITH ANYTHING *Crash*
It is strange for me
But ..
Keyboardists fly is open! Lol
Wow! 10 hater-bots watched the video.
its really too bad that no one knows this is a cover
if you take the vocals out, the instruments remind me of something the whitest boy alive would write
regardless, this is a top notch song!
he looks like he's really struggling to sing.
Mixing is pretty bad. There's hardly any bass
Terrible!
