    It's genuinely heartbreaking that he only had so little time to enjoy his newfound success. My mother was a friend of his towards the end and looked after his surviving children. I wish I could've known him.

    I’m 15 and been listening to him since I was like 4 when my dad would play it in the car all the time. Best voice I’ve ever heard.

    Roy Orbison's song-writing talents didn't leave him, as the "reporter" said. Popular musical tastes changed. He wrote and recorded some of his best songs during his wilderness years. Then musical tastes changed again and he was once again on top. He was and is my all-time favorite singer, and he ended on a high note.

      At the time of his death , he had a big Hit on the charts ......the song--- You got it...💯%hit 😎

    • @AmericanActionReport
      @AmericanActionReport Год назад +2

      @@frankarce2039 He had a number of songs "in the can" at the time of his death. In 1989, the year or so after his death, a fourteen-year-old boy was surprised to hear that I had heard of Roy Orbison, whose songs in 1989 were very popular.. I surprised him again when I told him I had been enjoying Roy Orbison since I first heard "Only the Lonely" (May 1960), when I was ten years old. Since that day 63 years ago, Roy Orbison has always been my favorite singer.

    I was only 13 years old when he died. And i found out much later. He would have been 86 years old now. He's the one that kept coming back again and again.

      He smoked 3 packs a day until 1977 when he had a triple bypass at 41 (that should tell you something), and was told to quit smoking and eating healthy food no more yo-yo dieting, due to his ulcer (since he was 24) take better care of himself as he had bad genetics he went down to 1 pack a day and kept on eating unhealthy food, when not touring and when he was touring he would starve himself on healthy low calorie food, to be in a large calorie deficit and he drank alot of sugar rich drinks to feel full of energy, he complained about chest pains to Johnny Cash weeks before he died, he was told to go to the ER and get his heart checked but refused and hired a personal trainer to get him in shape, what a fool didnt take his health seriously he had 3 kids FFS but it was his choice R.I.P (1936-1988).

    Elvis himself claimed that he wished he could sing like Roy. The three biggest stars of the early
    60's were Elvis, Ricky Nelson and Roy. Although his music was equal to or even at times surpassed Elvis and Ricky he never really had the adoration or following. Because he didn't have the good
    looks he didn't really appeal to the girls as much so he had to rely on his incredible voice to reach
    out and sell records. But Roy was more than a gifted singer. Also a highly skilled musician and a
    superb song writer.
