Glad It worked out. I have a 4K Model 1 that I'm going to start restoring. One of the shift keys broke and I'll be upgrading its memory. I love the 8-bit era!

Old man glasses.... HEY! I resemble that remark! ha ha
From one old nerdy fart to another. Nice video. I fixed a lot of video games in the late 80's and 90's. Later video poker machines for the mob in bars LOL and cable descramblers with my trusty eprom programmer. Thanks for sharing. God bless. The KlodFather.

I think half the secret to getting older is having the correct pair of glasses for every situation.

@@HeyBirt - I have three strengths. One to walk and drive and two strengths to see things and to read. I even have a special pair to watch TV with a specific diopter. Too many years as a tech and engineer looking at screens and small parts... Now my eyes are kinda fixed in a far sighted kind of way. 1.25 to drive. 2.0 for TV. 2.5 and 3.0 for small work and sometimes a boom magnifier or two LOL I have two lighted 8 inch and two 5 inch lens magnifiers.

Don't see a Level I Model I every day. Seems like most got upgraded. I picked up a Model I from Goodwill several years ago, in the travel case, but didn't open it until recently. It's absolutely immaculate--even smelled like new TRS-80. Looked at the bottom, and turns out it's a virgin--the warrantee sticker was never broken. Sadly, it does have a problem. I suspect one line from the keyboard matrix has become disconnected, because some of the keys are interpreted incorrectly. I haven't looked into it further, and I'm torn because I really hate to open the thing when it's made it all these years unscathed :-). Can probably tell exactly what line isn't working when I go back and look at which keys are working, and which are showing as duplicates when typing. Maybe I can perform orthoscopic surgery on it...

@@HeyBirt Most of the work on that ROM is made by David and Adrian, I've just sent them some of my code I wrote to diagnose various arcade boards :)

I have a CoCo 1 and everything works but it has a black screen. I even installed a brand NOS RF modulator.
