【072】Blues Basslines in E: Inspired by Led Zeppelin’s ‘Moby Dick

  • This video features the iconic bassline extracted from Led Zeppelin’s “Moby Dick.”
    The original is in Drop D tuning, but I’ve transposed it to the Key of E to be playable in standard tuning.
    Using a blues progression, I’ve created four different basslines. These basslines primarily consist of sixteenth notes.
    Bass Line 01: Get familiar with the blues progression, focusing on the root note.
    Bass Line 02: A slightly more dynamic bassline that still sounds cool.
    Bass Line 03: Another cool bassline to add to your repertoire.
    Bass Line 04: A bassline in the style of “Moby Dick.”
    I’ve included tablature in the latter part of the video, so be sure to watch and refer to it as needed.
