I appreciate you for doing a mid year video. So many of us rely on you to tell us which games you like, since you play so many games and we can't play that many. By time all the end of year videos come out, most the games will be sold out. This helps us to know what games to look out for. Thank you
Love the cozy chat vibes. Mike texting on the empty phone case is gold. Thanks for the game inspo and smiles this morning Nick & Mike. Oh… and Bring The Stream! 🎉😊
I'm glad Shipwrights of the North Sea: Redux got a mention. It takes all of the worker / resource trading of Hadrian's Wall, the card-tucking / building of other Garphil games, and but makes it light-weight and easy to play. All the good Garphil stuff but very quick and easy.
I'm surprised Ezra and Nehemiah didn't make your list! I'm going to have to look more into Shipwrights Redux. It sounds really good. I'm excited to see Inventors of the South Tigris here, too. I backed that and can't wait for it to fulfill. I'm going to look at the Luthier campaign next week, too. I've only played three new games this year but have enjoyed them all: 3. Draft and Write Records 2. Sankore: The Pride of Mansa Musa (just wish the solo was more challenging) 1. Ezra and Nehemiah
Great video. Love your humour! I have only played a few of those games but am defiantly interested in trying more of them, especially Captain Flip. Push your luck is my jam. Great new studio - but I have one suggestion. Move the white cable behind Mike. I found it distracting.
new studio looks really dope, awesome work. I'm really looking forward to inventors. Picked up almost all the Garphill games in the last year, enjoying all of them
Haha don't worry we agree. The lamp was a last minute addition to the shelf, and we had a conversation about the cord and decided that we were too lazy to change it for this video. In all future videos it will be less visible don't worry
Out of this list I've only played Wyrmspan and Shipwrights, and I agree, they're great! I picked up both of these at retail, and they were absolutely worth the wait.
LOVE this set up. Also, Gest might be my top one from your list that I've tried so far. Its been a really fun year for games so far! I do wonder I I apologize if you have already talked about it elsewhere) if yall have tried Witchcraft by 25th Century yet? That has gotta be close to my number one currently!
I had never played Slay the Spire the video game prior to playing the board game with a friend, and my goodness it so quickly shot up my list. Picked up the video game during the steam summer sale as well and I just can't put it down. Excited to play the board game every chance we get.
I've really been loving Draft & Write Records on BGA, been playing it a lot in the last month. Great theme, and it plays kind of like Welcome To... crossed with Ganz Schon Clever, it has the beauty and card-based play and goal system that reminds me of Welcome to, and it has the daisy-chain combos of Clever. And since I love both Welcome To and Clever, this game was made for me.
I really need to get my hands on Sankore! I adore Wyrmspan, to the extent that I can't see pulling Wingspan off the shelf instead unless I actively want to play a game with birds. Windmill Valley is one I'm really looking forward to, in no small part thanks to your playthrough!
Howdy! We use Panasonic Lumix S5 IIX Mirrorless Sony FX30 Super 35 cameras for our face cams, on our playthrough videos we use a Sony FX30 Super 35 camera for our down shot and a Panasonic GH5 for misc other things. Our mics are the Rode wireless Pro set and they all work with premiere just fine
Gosh I love this new studio so much. It looks great! My favorite game of 2024 so far is Captain Flip. Well... it might be the only game released this year that I played but it is SO good. Just some fast paced fun. Nothing is better than to use a monkey to flip your canoneer which then becomes a monkey that reveals another canoneer.😂

Lots of good games here. Excited to play Redux soon! Disagree on Wyrmspan. I still think Wingspan is a good bit better. Love seeing Inventors on here! No Inventions: Evolution of Ideas? River of Gold? Good list fellas 😎
hey everybody do you think it's worth getting aqua if I already have cascadia and we're very happy with cascadia I'm just trying to keep my collection from being too redundant with games that are very similar to each other so would you recommend aqua why or why not ty!
@@TheBrothersMurph Interesting. I usually align with most of their reviews but over the last 6 months I've really started to see a strong divergence. I'm wondering if they are suffering from reviewing too many games that fewer games shine.
People's likes change over time, theirs and yours. It's natural to stop seeing eye to eye. We have had some people mention that they don't see eye to eye with us on games much anymore because our tastes have been skewing towards heavier and heavier games over the years. And that's ok! It's all just a big ole rollercoaster
It's a 2024, for these videos we go off of the official release date. We talk about this a bit in the patreon video we put out today, that it's sometimes weird doing these lists because we may have played the game in the previous year, or maybe ever 2-3 years ago, but it released this year.
We made a pledge to play our 2024 games as they come in, do a better job of keeping up on them.... .....so of course there's a big pile of unplayed 2024 games on the floor. Anyway, I'd say my top 3 of the year so far are Harrow County, Let's Go to Japan, and Biohack!
I’ve only played two 2024 games so far, so I can’t exactly come up with my top 10 yet. 😬 Pampero seems really great (just played it once last weekend), and Shipwrights Redux seemed fine to me but I’m not sure I love it (let the roasting commence). As for games that were new to me in 2024, there are so many that I love: Voidfall, Evacuation, Scholars Of The South Tigris, Revive, Vinhos, Caylus, Arkwright, Mangrovia, Arabella, The Search For Lost Species, On The Origin Of Species, Snowdonia, Samurai, Through The Desert … along with plenty of other games I didn’t like as much. 😂
@@TheBrothersMurphGameplay wasn’t too difficult to learn, but it leads to interesting decisions about return on investment, since money = points. I could see it being vulnerable to analysis paralysis, but we didn’t find it that bad. Definitely one of those games where you can’t do everything you want to do, so you have to pick and choose. I really liked it!
I was excited for the Robin Hood game coming out then saw the board. They had one quick look at a map and then just made place names and locations up and it put me off. If they base a game on a location, actually do the research first. Might be a good game but this is enough to put me off
We played a ton of Captain Flip ! Not supposed to be that fun, it’s like strike, you read the rules and go : meh and after the first game it’s like : let’s play a 100 mores games of this

I have not played Wyrmspan but the Bros’ comments echo what others have said and I have to admit that, for me, it sounds like the game might be worse cuz it’s not as crunchy.
How come that “Ezra and Nehemiah” and “El Burro” aren’t on your list ?? Impossible… Seems you guys haven’t played them yet, the only explanation. But both have been released already in 1H 2024.
The first one have barely been delivered world wide and the lather is still not done with fullfillment and neither have been "released" by any standards.

What a great new setup. The comfy chairs look great and very chill. Really fits your style :D

Harmonies is great! And it is a reasonably priced game. It may not be my favorite, but it gets a lot of play and is solid.

The cord from the lamp put in the wood on the wall so it goes over by the shelf and then down so you cant see it

Just a little question...Shipwrights of the North Sea Redux plays well at two players??? Most of the time i play with my wife
