"I have a lot of back to back calls, which means that I don't have much time to get *actual work* done" --> the biggest struggle in consulting, I feel this so hard 😂😂 Props to you for staying on top of the time zone so well though! My sleep schedule would not let me do that very well so much respect hahaha
Yup. Lots of calls means lots of talking about the work instead of doing the work 😂 It’s difficult to wake up so early but I’m used to it now (and I recharge over the weekend!)

@@bykchoi Is it possible to be an independent consultant? I have a background with film/media producing + production coordinating. Found a huge passion in developing small businesses so I figured I could invest time to learn about that (LLC, and typical issues they'd face). No pressure on answering, but could one be an indep consultant and how should they set themselves up?
I think it’s just a matter of getting clients! You would probably start with people you already have a connection with, and then gain experience/testimonials from them. In terms of the logistics of setting that up, I’m sure there are tax documents you need in order to set up your own company or LLC, but I don’t have much experience with that!!
A “consultant” just provides expertise, advice, and services. So depending on what you’re providing you could find a way to make it happen.

I have a case interview soon and I am asked to prepare for a simulated client scenario so I'll be preparing the client's workshop and your video helped so much with understanding the usual process! Do you have any tips on what I should do and how to prepare???
glad you enjoyed!! haha hmmm, i don't know that i have enough information to provide good advice, but i would say don't forget about your actual presentation/storytelling skills. it's important to understand the simulated client issue, but also to be able to communicate your findings/solution in a way that's engaging :)

Hahah it’s sparkletts water! Normally I just drink water from a Brita filtered pitcher but this is what my parents have

Hi, Kristina, glad to come across your new video and you are healthy & fine. So, how is it like working from home, remotely compare to during normal days and weeks you would be traveling? I’m used to it now, but it can be difficult sometimes, especially if I try to think about how much longer things have to be this way (the answer...probably a while). But I’m glad I have time to focus on things like exercising, youtube, etc :)

I've been staying at my parents' for the past few months, so I'm very fortunate that they cook a lot :) But we also get takeout and eat takeout leftovers quite often! I'll occasionally cook dinner, in which case I do it after work (since I end early on the west coast).
But when I was meal prepping a lot a couple of years ago, I did a lot of my cooking on Sundays for the beginning of the week!

Omg it has been a while that YT suggested your video to view eventhough I subscribed to you. Do you have suggestions of steps if I would like to switch to consultation. I have been working in diff field and has a General Business degree. I noticed that I'm interested in consulting and like the flexibility of it with the current Covid going on and it seems going to be a while.
depending on how long you've been working, you could apply for experiened hire positions at consultancies (whether one of the big ones or a boutique firm). not sure how much places are hiring these days, though! (i know some companies cancelled summer MBA internships, for example)
@@bykchoi omg thx for responding especially so quickly. I'm currently watching your video you done with your friend about HR resume and interview. I realized from each position I worked at what I like and not like in my future role and company. This would be my first try to get into consulting. I will do some more research but for me I have been unlucky to not get into the role I wanted and mostly overqualified role. The one I want they would denied bec I dont have background in it. Glad YT read my mind and suggested your video again

business is a common major for consultants, but it honestly doesn't matter too much! depends on internship/interview opportunities you can get and how you do in them. :)
