Lol 'that's cool' whilst looking at a hot soup machine! Really interesting tour. You'd love it over here in rural France. The stuff you find is incredible. Furniture from the old Châteaus, farm equipment from 200 years ago, shells from WW1, all sorts.
That would be amazing! Maybe someday will make a trip across the pond
@@66uniqueantiques you are always welcome! I am on the coast of South West France, between La Rochelle and Bordeaux. I live 5 minutes from le Chateau Fort de St Jean D'Angle and 10 minutes from the chateau of Mareshal Murat, one of Napoleon's cavalry commanders, 20 minutes from the Royal French Naval garrison town of Rochefort. All in all, I'm spoilt for choice. It's a beautiful place to live. Best of luck to you and yours, and bon sainte'!
You as well
Buy low sell high a lot of those furniture pieces can be cleaned up and pained. You have to see beyond the dirt sometimes.
Lots of work and lots of cleaner. If you were ok putting the work in then you would of loved this sale
I have 4 pieces of the furniture I saw in mint condition.
That was a couple of years worth of chicken poop.
I loved to go to auction houses before they became mainstream. I’ve never been to an outdoor auction in a barn, although I always thought that it would be fantastic.....this was not what I thought it would look like tho. What a shame that most of that stuff was beyond salvageable. Sad. Breaks my heart. Was this a hoarder’s barn ?? I saw some things I would have bid on. Can’t wait for the US to reopen like it’s 2019 !! I’m liking your channel !! 👍🏻👍🏻
Yes it was a hoarders barn. Alot of beautiful pieces that went years without care
Does kind of make you feel sick in the stomach that most of these were just left to rot in the barn smh. I would imagine that they were great items in their day. Sometimes no amount of cleaning or sanding can get certain odors out of wood. A few not so bad things though.
For sure! That is what kept me away from most of the items there
@@66uniqueantiques don't blame you a bit. Even if they gave it to you for free, the amount of lost time and energy wouldn't be worth it. Especially when you have ample opportunity to turn a good profit with much less elbow work lol.
Yep same mind set I had
How much of that stuff ended up in the landfill??? Uff da, it was embarrassing to see the condition they set out.
After talking to some of the buyers they thought the could get the smell out. I disagreed that's why I didn't buy any furniture lol
Burn it all
You know more then anyone I don’t mind the super rough stuff and poop doesn’t scare me. Although I will be the first to say, some of that stuff is WAY pass saving and ready for the burn pile sadly. Nice fuel man sign
Totally agree! It was sad to see some really beautiful pieces not get the care they deserved
What kind of auctioneer would let it be put out with that crap on it?
I agree.....most of it was unbuyable but we did find some treasures
I feel like I need a tetanus shot! Happy you found some good deals!
Haha yeah it was quite unsanitary
