- In today's video, I show you what you can do to your lawn now that it's March!
Every lawn is different - it's not a 'one side fits all' scenario. So, with the advice in this video, take into consideration the condition of your own lawn and hopefully you can get your lawn looking thicker and greener in no time! - Хобби
The lawn is looking good for this time of year and considering the rain we have.
You are right regards scarifying, I will be waiting at least another month and until the ground dries out and temperatures increase.
Look forward to you renovating the long strip of grass.
This year I’m gonna try overseeding with fescue and bent seed mix. Tired of wasting money on rye grass.
Was thinking the same thing
The strong creeping red, brown top bent combination can be great but folks pushing colour in it to appear more like perennial rye helps kill it.
Did my first mow of the year today at 60mm and put some treatment down. Looking forward to getting it back to its best.
Great video buddy 👍
Good video again mate,I honestly can't wait to scarify and aerate my lawn and see what the results will be,especially that my lawn is clay heavy as well
Same here - counting the weeks to the warmer weather to get started!
@NoviceGardener oh yeah hahaha,I took my chicken wire fence down today and the garden looking so much bigger as well lol
You should edge the lawn near the edge
Casually introducing a whole new lawn, unless I missed that last year, interesting to see the expansion and how it'll turn out. Would you be tempted to try some new products on it to compare against yours?
I’m going to be doing the same sort of stuff as I do to my front lawn with it looking ok at the moment. It’s more the back lawn I’m going to think about doing differently. Just looking forward to renovating now!
Maybe on that other field you're taking on now, you could also apply something with N in it. Giving it a bit more strength in advance before you scarify it. Not sure if thats a proven way but makes sense to me at least.
I did that last year - worked quite well
My grass has turn quite yellow. Some parts are a healthy green colour but the majority has gone oretty yellow. How could i rectify that?
Could be worth fertilising, might be a deficiency of some kind
What type of nozzle do you use on your knapsack sprayer as mine doesn't give a good fan?
It’s called a flat fan nozzle - should be able to get one for fairly cheap on Amazon
my plan this year is a light scarify with a hand rake, seed and top dress. Don't fancy ripping up the whole thing, maybe spring 2025 lol
I’m itching to renovate now, especially with having decent weather recently!
The hand rake is only for the tough guys! Hard going, depending on the size of your lawn, good luck and enjoy the burn! 💪🏻
Would I be alright throwing the weed and feed on in the next few days and then starting the scarifying and seeding process thinking easter weekend?
That's exactly what I've just done mate, a lot of people don't like the 4 in 1 stuff but I've used it every year with great results, the trick is not to over apply it as it will do damage to your lawn, only 35 grams a square metre, then I'll scarify it easter holidays,
I agree 👍🏻
So weed and feed now, then scarify in around a month followed by overseed and top dress?
Sound like lee Nelson.
Jason Bent? 😂
