I've met a few lads fae that Gothemburg team over the years, and they were always so humble and appreciated what they had done for the club, the city and Scotland.
    Especially 'Tattie' RIP.

Aye “Those wer the Days” Great Interview, I doubt there has Ever Been a Better Defensive Triangle in Football History.
Miller, Mcleish & if they Got Past them, they Still had Leighton to Beat.
    The Great “Fergie” Said So.
Willie Miller was According to Sir Alex & Still says Now, the Best Defender he has Ever Seen.

Great to hear these stories, I think Aberdeen will probably go down as one of the greatest footballing stories of all time, they probably had the whole of Britain wanting them to win which must be a one off.

Sorry missed this prog , was busy but ye McLeish was a top class cdefender ..Is someone like he was i feel strongly today Celtic need a guy who won his high balls in his own box and defended well and scored odd goals also ..Im a big Billy McNeill fan and several others i can mention who could have done a great job in todays Celtic defence which lacks with high balls into box and Joe Hart needs replaced at Celtic today as never comed out of his box for high balls in knowing we are weak there .
I dont go by stats in todays Spl as other teams dont attack much ..As most older fans know other teams like Aberdeen , Hibs , Hearts and Motherwells of Spl are not the teams of way back in 70s and 80s ..Top side Aberdeen in Alex McLeish days and top centre back he was also as said ..

Everything considered, probably the single greatest achievement by any Scottish team.

@@larrydavid6852 Aye, but when you see the team we had, we should of been winning European trophies.

@@larrydavid6852 No way Larry 2nd best in Scotland maybe aye
As Celtic with Lisbon Lions stands tallest an all Scottish side who became Kings of Europe with very first team from UK shores to win the big cup the European cup in 67 ' and became the first non Latin side to win it ..and very first winners of the cup
known as BigLugs from the UK and this was Celtic who were first ever winners
as year before the old style European cup was a white jug like cup was won
by Real Madrid the year before ..Celtic first EVER winners of big lugs .

@@DavidGemmell-vz7in yes and that's a great achievement too - but a provincial club beating Bayern and Real Madrid to win a European trophy edges it for me. Also, football wasn't fully modernized in the 1960's, all sorts of strange things were happening, like England winning world cups. But yes definitely a fantastic triumph, just not quite as good as AFC when you weigh-up all the factors involved.

@@larrydavid6852 Mon noo Larry min yourr obviosly an Aberdeen fan or rangers fan saying such
as it does not compare with the big cup and Celtic done such a feat with an Entire all Scottish team which celtic did and in fact all from within a 30 mile radius of Glasgow and was one player from just within that was from Saltcoats in Ayrshire furthest away guy Bobby Lennox .The Big Cup and dont forget just lost out on the 1970 European cup final in extra time v Feyenoord this after winning v Englands best then team leeds in semis home and away .
First team from British shores to win a European trophy and the biggy was Celtic no matter how your trying to compare ..I agree Aberdeens win was very good also and i felt the heavy rain aided them that day and in a way not to same extent as \Lisbon Lions side but Aberdeen side also many were reared and were a top side them days
Today Celtic fc do not have any competition 12 yrs winning Spl title from 13 yrs tells u such and thing is only can get better whereas others are also rans sadly unlike them days with Aberdeen and u had Dundee Utd also a very good side them days who just lost out in a European final to Gothenburg of Sweden .
