Same but my w140 has alot of issues. Everyone says fix it but i could put a good down payment on a w221 rather than fix all the issues on my 97 w140 420
Jeremy Browne great car jus have an extended warranty on it or get a pre purchase inspection from a Mercedes dealer. It’s not part of the Maybach series until 2014 when they made a S600 maybach trim
Car has 279,000 miles on it now - just now starting to have issues with normal wear - just replaced the rear struts. Other than that, it hasn’t needed much - radiator was replaced at 260,000 miles and that’s been about it!
I’m looking at buying one of these, have you had any problems with it yet being that high in miles? Did you recently buy this car, Around how much did you pay for it?
Isaiah Miller with 200,000 miles, expect to pay around $10-12,000. If it has issues, offer them less. Only thing I have had to do in the past year was replace one of the front control arms, it was starting to creak
200k DAMN!!! I just hit 80k 🙏🏾 get it if you can it will keep you safe and happy forever..I have driven it to 🇲🇽 about 10 times and would do it all over again because of it’s comfortable as f, I was going to get the 2020 s class, but it’s garbage..definitely get the 2011/2013 model 🙏🏾
230,000 mile update, had an oil leak (I believe it was the oil pan?) around 212,000 miles, shop charged about $400 to fix. Only other issue happened last week at 226,000 miles, had an air strut go bad, I replaced it myself since I was pressed for time and all the shops were booked out. Cost me about $950 for the replacement strut (had to buy it from my local parts store, online retailers had the same part for about $450) Other than that, the car has been bulletproof. Just hit 230,000 miles and still going strong!
2010 Models do not come with Bluetooth audio as standard, only phone. you would have to use an MMI adapter for music streaming. Blind spot is an available option, but this one does not have it equipped.
260,000 miles now, it’s been good to me. Make sure you find one that’s been well maintained, it can be a great daily but can also be horribly unreliable if you get one that isn’t up to date on maintenance. I average about $700-1500/year on maintenance over the past 5 years
@@dcoonrod827 wow you've had it for 60k past 200? What a terrific machine! Any car is only as good as the sum of its parts of course, any vehicle will need maintenance, but this is great to hear as I'm considering one for my next family vehicle.
In todays market that’s probably not bad, just make sure it has a detailed service record and that there’s nothing major wrong with it. (dealers are selling anything they can get their hands on right now) If it doesn’t have a maintenance record, or there’s any obvious issues, I’d say pass. Personally I prefer the facelifted w221 (2010-2013) but they both share most of the same features.
Jeremy Browne no, Maybach was a separate company until 2014 or somewhere around there, when it became a line of Mercedes, much like the AMG Line. As for the wheels, it looks like it’s just referred to as “19-inch multi-spoke light-alloy wheel (optional)” not sure if that helps, but hope it’s what you’re looking for.
@@dcoonrod827 thank you Derrick it was very helpful. One more question how would you say is the maintenance? I have a BMW so used to high maintenance but how often
Jeremy Browne It all depends on how well it was maintained before. I’m not usually a huge advocate for paying for car-fax reports or anything, however on a vehicle like this, it’s worth it. Most of these cars (at least the first few years) are dealer maintained, so the maintenance booklet in the trunk (either trunk or glovebox) should be filled out, if not, definitely get a car-fax or something similar. If the car has been maintained before you, and you keep up on regular maintenance, it’ll be a great car. Like any import, If you take it to the dealer, you’ll get hosed in repair costs, so find a reputable Indy mechanic. Overall, I’d say these cars are probably more reliable than BMWs of the same year. Hope this helps!
Balamuralikrishna Raju not through factory Bluetooth no, I used an adapter called Tune2Air, it uses the iPod interface and integrates with the car, steering wheel controls still work, and you can see track info on the cars display. Costs less than $100 and it’s a plug and play solution.
@@RossEnzo I’m 2012, Mercedes-Benz updated most of their command infotainment systems to support Bluetooth audio streaming, but prior to 2012, to my knowledge there’s not a single model that supports Bluetooth audio streaming from the factory.
Mrnice Guy It does, the double laminated glass on the 2007+ models is much thinner than before, but is just as quiet and is also UV coated to keep the car cool in the summer. You can tell if a car has the UV/Laminate Coating by the “blue/green mirror” looking shine on the windows.
This was my dream car and I finally got one the 2012 model great job describing the features.
Is it expensive to maintain and does it break down crazy?
Plzzz if u can share it with us is it bad or good

200k miles?? Is it reliable and/or somewhat affordable to own?
Gotta have at least $5000 set aside for repairs,it's a MUST or don't buy one, things are GUARANTEED to break down on a MERCEDES BENZ...
You only need $5000 if you have no idea how to do anything mechanically yourself and have a catastrophic failure.
