    Very nice! Small thing to get done are the tire pressure monitoring system. Get those changed if you haven't already.

      Hi, I apologize for the late response. That’s a great thing you pointed out about replacing the tire pressure monitor. I have definitely had prior s550’s which have given the “(!)” on the dash for tires even though all tires were good and no leaks in tires. So definitely like you mentioned, it’s a great idea to switch out the tire pressure monitor sensors. Thanks for sharing that, this comment will definitely be helpful for other viewers as well. Thank you for taking the time out to watch this video and sharing here😊.

    09,10, 11 were the best W221s with the best of the M273 engine. The M278 has cylinder wall scoring on the first few years.

    • @meetbhuller6324
      @meetbhuller6324  9 месяцев назад +1

      Hi, I definitely agree with you, the 09,10 and 11 were great years of the W221. Those are very solid years. Most of the early generation problems of w221 were resolved by those years. What does "cylinder wall scoring" mean? Thank you for sharing your comment here.

    • @kylegaddie9139
      @kylegaddie9139 9 месяцев назад +2

      @@meetbhuller6324 Cylinder wall scoring is where the piston scrapes against the cylinder and eventually "carves" grooves resulting in a low compression and causing blowby and miss-fires. You'll see a lot of earlier M278's missfiring at cylinders 4 and 5 due to this issue. There seem to be a fair amount of W221 and W222 cars that have made it to very high mileage. My opinion (take it with a grain of salt) the cars built in Germany seem to fair a lot better(S class, SL class, CLS class ) than the SUV's (built in one of those southern states). If you search the GLS's and ML550's, a ton of them have cylinder scoring and oil/coolant mixture failure. If you look on the MB forums, there was a bulletin put out by Mercedes that on 2016 and newer models where they talked about switching to cast-iron and using nano-slide coating which supposedly rectified the issue.

      Your 2010 should easily do 300K as long as it's maintained. Sure you're going to have suspension issues along the way, maybe a leaky waterpump, the alternators can go bad if you let any valve cover gasket leaks go unchecked. But overall, a 2010 S550 is a solid car

    A pair of speed sensors for the W221 costs around 25 usd for the pair and takes all of three minutes to replace. Not sure why a mechanic would charge you 400 for it.

    My 2008 s550 problems at 50,000 miles in 2023.
    Driver air strut blew, vcm broke caused radio to glitch, starter battery died, oil cooler leak into coolant, cam magnets failure, starter failure, smoking tailpipes (pcv), oil leaks from cam caps.

      @meetbhuller6324  9 месяцев назад +2

      Hi, sorry to hear you had to deal with all those problems with such low miles on the car. I would honestly think a car with that low miles, you wouldn't run into that many issues. Alot of those repairs can get expensive. Is your s550 early production of 2008 or later production? Also, I appreciate you for sharing your experience with the 08 S550, this comment will be helpful for other viewers that may be looking to purchase a S550 w221. This gives other people a heads up and makes them aware of the repairs that can come with the car. It seems that the later s550 09, 10, 11 tend to have lesser problems. Each car has its issues. I had a 07 that had transmission valve body failure and an 08 with 98k on it that didn't have transmission issues but had some electronic stuff that went out like the moon roof, front drive assist, but other then that car was solid.

    • @ToJoseGarcia
      @ToJoseGarcia 9 месяцев назад +1

      Mine is an 08 late production. Flawless transmission with bigger pan. Forgot to mention sway bar clunk on driver side. Your maintenance needs to include cleaning water drains in windshield cowl and sunroof(do not used compressed air) checking coolant for oil(internal oil cooler leak), checking heated windshield washer fluid for coolant, oil on spark plug threads(internal valve cover leak), top pcv breather(change if still original), heater valve under cowl has a revised part(change if original), cam magnets were revised compare your part # to new part #. The ds front air strut and mini auxiliary battery are parts that should be changed if original. These cars are very good for large people but a bit overkill for normal size individuals. I should have got an E class.

    • @meetbhuller6324
      @meetbhuller6324  9 месяцев назад

      @@ToJoseGarcia That's good to hear your car is the later 08 production. I agree 100% with you, all the things that you mentioned should be a part of the maintenance needs. All those things should be checked and kept an eye on, since it will prevent bigger things from going wrong in the future. This information will definitely be helpful to other viewers as well. Thank you again for sharing that knowledge brother. Mercedes E class are great cars and have just the right amount of space if you are not looking for something very big.

    What would you say about interior quality?
    I have a 2007 model with about 120k miles, so pre facelift, and the plastics from the dash and front seats make annoying sounds when getting in and out or going over some rougher roads.

    • @meetbhuller6324
      @meetbhuller6324  4 месяца назад +1

      Hi, I apologize for the late response here. Personally, I think the newer the cars are getting, the more the quality is degrading and becoming more plastic.
      On the 2007 model the interior quality is good quality. I have owned a few 07’s and 08’ and a few 10’. I have definitely noticed those sounds you mentioned on some of the cars I have owned. I think those sounds come with wear and tear and just the age of the car. I have owned some S550's with high mileage but no sounds and owned some S550's that have had those annoying sounds you mention.
      Personally I think the S class that was before the W221 model had a bit better interior quality, since less plastic*w220. W221 the S class that you and I have do have good decent interior quality. I have seen some new Mercedes and they are all just putting plastic, so compared to that I think the W221 still has good interior quality but could have been done better.
      Great question btw. Happy to hear from you.

    My first S550 was a iridium silver metallic 2007 with black interior and it had the abc suspension i kept it for like 2 years and upgraded to a black on black S550 with the AMG sport appearance package my advice to anyone buying any W221 is get one from a person who took really really good care of it and it won't let you down although I had a preface lift 2007-09 S Class first before i got my 2011 facelift S Class i would recommend getting a 2010-2011 they seem to be the sweet spot S Class because they have the Naturally Aspirated M273 5.5 V8 which is not as problematic like the M278 4.7 Twiin Turbo V8 which came in the 2012-2013 W221 S Class i want another 2010-2011 S Class hopefully with the designo package and AMG sport appearance package in either black grey or diamond white metallic

      Hi brother, I apologize for the late response here. It was nice to hear your experience and journey with your S550's. Thank you for sharing this here, this information will definitely be helpful for other viewers as well that may be looking to purchase a S550. I am 100% on the same page with you, the 2010-2011 is surely the sweet spot for the S550. 2010-2011 are more reliable, since some previous issues have been fixed already. I am in the same boat as you, I am also wanting a 2010-2011 S class as well. Best of luck on your search as well brother! Designo package and AMG sport appearance package both are great options! Love them. I used to have a 2008 S550 (black exterior and pearl white interior Designo edition), and it was stunning, but don't have it anymore. Hi bro, inside your glove box, you should have a wire coming out of it. The end of the wire will have an adapter which will look like an iPod cable from 1st generation iPods. From online you can buy “Bovee Bluetooth” and plug that into the wire that is in your glove box it will allow you to play music from your phone via Bluetooth. You can google search “boove Bluetooth and it should come up. I know “boove Bluetooth “ is good, their may be other companies out there or similar products but I know “ boove Bluetooth”. What year is your car? Do you see any wire in your glove box?
