I had a pet racoon when growing up. They're actually very sweet, intelligent, and cuddly animals when they're domesticated. We rescued ours as a very small baby from a stray cat that had taken it from wherever it was and had beat him up a bit. We immediately took him to the wildlife rescue, for medical care and they didn't have anyone available that could foster a baby racoon that needed to be bottle fed every couple of hours, so they asked if we would be willing to foster with their guidance. We were already pretty attached to the little guy so we said yes. When he was older it was clear that he wouldn't be able to survive in the wild (our fault as we spoiled him with all the love and comfort things) so we had him neutered and kept him. Wally was the best pet I've ever had. I loved watching him get his grapes and then run to the sink, turn it on and wash it off before eating it. They love to wash their food before eating it....and it was just something I'm glad I got the pleasure of experiencing. Of course, you shouldn't just grab a racoon out of the wild as they DO carry harmful diseases if they aren't under veterinary care from a very young age and vaccinated....and grown ones aren't domestic in the wild, and they will hurt you. If a grown adult racoon comes right up to you in the wild, it's best to get away fast...and alert animal control as that's a sign of rabies since wild raccoons aren't friendly to humans ordinarily.
@breezez3857 It is NOT illegal, lol. Ours went to the vet regularly for checkups and vaccines and were told specifically that it was legal in our state. Just because you disagree with my comment doesn't mean you are right. I'm going to take the way you commented and assume you've never even been around a raccoon that was raised by people from a baby and kept as a pet since you seem to think they cannot be trained to do things and are just a wild as an adult plucked fresh from the woods. I live in an extremely rural area in Appalachia, and the closest wildlife rehab is 3 hours away and they wouldnt even take him. So I ask you, would you have preferred we just left it to die on our front porch so we wouldn't be breaking any of your assumed "laws"? Or should we have done what we did and take it in, save it, let it grow to a decent size and then try to release it (unsuccessfully) back in the wild? Because it sounds like you think we shouldn't have helped an innocent animal.
@breezez3857 Illegal in "most" states is not ALL states...and not in my own state. Secondly, just because some CAN turn feral in captivity doesn't mean they ALL do. We had ours for 14 years before he passed from cancer, and he was more docile than our dogs. If we had been "selfish" as you say, we wouldn't have even tried to release him...which we did, and it wasn't successful. If you truly know anything about rehabilitation for raccoons you would know that sometimes they don't acclimate back into the wild, which ours did not, and that it is a death sentence for them to just be abandoned in the woods at that point because they can no longer care for themselves. Not to mention the fact we worked with the wildlife rehabilitation center in our state AND a veterinarian to care for this raccoon...which included being educated on HOW to care for them. So forgive me if I don't take the ramblings of some internet troll as gospel over that of what ACTUAL professionals have told me to do. Again, I will say that it sounds like you think we should have just left Wally to die, instead of giving him our time, love, and money to make sure he had the best life he could have. I really can't seem to come up with any other valid reason you would have against my family for following the law, following veterinarian and wild life specialist Instruction, and saving an innocent baby animal and giving him the best 14 years he wouldn't have had otherwise. I'll also mention here that Wally was only a little over a week old when the stray cat left him cold and injured on our porch....so was is really selfish for us to save a tiny animal that couldn't even function on its own when found? Would you have preferred us to just leave him on the doorstep to die a slow and agonizing death....because that's what it sounds like.

Japan has a hedgehog Cafe, but I did not go. I thought it was cruel. Hedgehogs are nocturnal animals that enjoy being solitary. I can understand social, daytime animals but it seems like they will just turn anything into a cafe without considering the ethics behind it
Meerkat and raccoon cafes also seem unethical, I highly discourage visiting places like this but ofc humans are ignorant, greedy and selfish and don't care about other animals' wellbeing, only their own entertainment.
@@nicolemelo8994 Right? I'm actually really disappointed in Jeenie. Even the sheep cafe was off for me. I'm all good with cafes which help animals getting adopted but for selfish humans? No thank you
They could do it ethically and have it be a night time cafe with a silence policy and no touching the animals. Have zoo-like habitats on display and keep it really calm. But I doubt they would because they want the after school crowds paying to pet them.
The emphasis is on WILD animals. I went to a cat cafe in Germany & I have nothing against pet cafes. All the other animals should stay at least at a zoo not a cafe!
Although I do see your point, dogs and cats are (relatively) easy to keep, social and most importantly, domesticated whereas animals like meerkats, racoons and other animals you see in these types of cafes are not! A cafe is also not really a suitable place to keep them, a meerkat in the wild needs LOTS of space to explore and in the wild their territories can be several kilometres wide and need tones of places to hide. They can also be quite aggressive and I really don't think that a cafe would have enough digging space. As for the racoons, they're super overweight. Racoons that are kept captive are prone to obesity even with proper professional care. They *also* tend to be aggressive seeing as neither animals are domesticated. They may be time but those are two very different things! Lot's of animal cafes in places with less-strict animal protection laws obtain their animals from dodgy pet trade and/or unethical breeders.
I wish we could have taken our pop to the meerkat before he passed. He absolutely adored them. It was meerkats and Harley davidsons and family for my pop
About the cafe with the two sheeps - I've heard that the owner brings two of the smallest / bullied sheep of the heard from a farm and takes care of them until they are nice and fluffy. Then, they'll be returned to the farm and the owner will bring the next two... and so on.
I'm a bit worried about the meerkat one since they're notoriously violent - but the others are fine by me lol. I love raccoons and as long as they're not hurt or diseased it's fine! [And they won't be letting them interact with the guests if they were diseased.] Also pet raccoons are a thing, people, so my concerns are with the sheep (since there's only 2 of them) and the meerkat (due to violence).
I was doing work experience at a vet’s place and two Samoyed puppies came in. Those dogs are like literal balls of cotton. They’re sooooo cute and even if they weren’t really trained they were still so well behaved ❤️😊
I've heard of 'bird cafe's and i'm glad they weren't shown here because they're honestly very sad... i love birds and it breaks my heart to see them all packed in there- some are even large birds of prey.......
These cafes are disgusting, especially the ones with WILD animals (the meerkats, raccoons, etc), or nocturnal ones like hedgehogs. I wish people weren't this greedy and selfish but oh well, all we can do is spread awareness.
@@MSC_23 i'm not quick to judge some of those because in some cases they will take rescues or animals that cannot be released in the wild- and cattles are sometimes kept as pets, frankly any animal cafe can be safe if they don't hoard a lot of animals in one space and treat them humanely, the bird cafe i'm alluding to specifically keeps lots of various species of birds in a small building which is fine for plenty species but not for a lot of the species they have, especially with so many in said cramped space.
@@nicolemelo8994 racoons i wouldn't consider disgusting, taking a wild racoon as a pet is of course stupid and inhumane but plenty people have pet racoons, and they actually bond with humans pretty well. It's the same principle as domesticated rats vs sewer rats, or handfed birds vs wild birds. I doubt any of those racoons wild racoons brought inside. The meerkats however are indeed pretty damn questionnable, even zoos hate keeping those.
My 3rd teacher would love the first one, when we went to the zoo for a diwld teio she took us to the meerkat section. She told us it was her favorite animal.

I think the wild animal cafes in Korea are coming to an end in the next year or two with law changes. I know I read an article about it last year.
@@bigeaststarlight6915 that sounds good i really hope they go through with it
Yeah it promotes backyard breeding
Ashley : * bombastic side eye *😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
As a person who has a meerkat as a pet I can confirm that the stand on you every single day I woke up and my meerkat was standing on my face💀
Samoyed cafe looks like heaven 24/7
Ashley’s face at the racoon part lolol
now i wish to go to south Korea more than ever😭😭
Me too 😭😭
wild animals shouldn’t be in cafés
@Alexia Campbell dogs, cats and horses were bred for thousands of years to be able to live in manmade environments
meerkats and raccoons weren't
@Alexia Campbell keyword "wild"
Ashley's dave was everything 😅😂❤
Meerkat cafe was like
“Omg People! I have to test if they can move it move it!”
Then, they'll be returned to the farm and the owner will bring the next two... and so on.
Ashley’s face when the racon put his paw on her shoulders
😂
my eyes would be puffy red crying from both happiness and allergies
I'm a bit worried about the meerkat one since they're notoriously violent - but the others are fine by me lol. I love raccoons and as long as they're not hurt or diseased it's fine! [And they won't be letting them interact with the guests if they were diseased.] Also pet raccoons are a thing, people, so my concerns are with the sheep (since there's only 2 of them) and the meerkat (due to violence).
The Samoyed cafe literally instantly flooded my chest with so much peace omg 😍😍😍😍😍😍😩
The last one is the cutest❤❤
Ashley is the queen of expressions lol
As a Samoyed owner I completely agree, that is heaven
That last scene had me drying.. That's so cuteee... 😂😂😂💖💖💖
Ashley face was like 😮
Soo cute
I JUST CANT. THE ANIMALS ARE SO CUTE
The way the racoon just touched Ashley's shoulder like:
Yeah I wanna get outta this place too
I was doing work experience at a vet’s place and two Samoyed puppies came in. Those dogs are like literal balls of cotton. They’re sooooo cute and even if they weren’t really trained they were still so well behaved ❤️😊
As a New Zealander seeing those sheep made me feel at home.
Meerkat Cafe: * Exists *
Zookeepers: *if only it was that simple*
Jeenie has animal magnetism!
I've heard of 'bird cafe's and i'm glad they weren't shown here because they're honestly very sad... i love birds and it breaks my heart to see them all packed in there- some are even large birds of prey.......
Some of the cafes shown in this video have wild animals as well...
Thank you. I don't like animal cafes because once again these animals are used to serve humans
OMG ALL THE CAFES ARE SO CUTE IM DYING
This really inappropriate and stressful / unnatural for those animals. They should be in a more natural environment. And not pimped out for humans enjoyment. Real shame to watch this one jeenie😢
I had a very gentle and sweet pet raccoon growing up. I understand that most are not suited to being pets, but ours was. He never knew anything else, we bottle-fed him.
Ashley was like hella no this thing did not just get on my shoulder
Meerkats are my favourite animal. Mum!! Pack your bags, we’re going to South Korea!!
my jaw literlly dropped on the last one i almost cried they're so cute
the cute and fluffy sheep’s🥺
*AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA THIS IS SOO CUTE! ESPECIALLY THE LAST ONE!!!!!!!!!*
