They just don't understand 'Burgh fans'......or real success. The current Rooney, maybe hasn't had to actually work for anything......if you're not working to improve, then you're going to lose ground to those whose intention is to improve......maybe he's just looking to maintain, not work to do better......don't know.....could be wrong, but I don't think so.

Sure, not every great player can win a Super Bowl. And sometimes a great player is stuck on a bad team and rarely gets the chance (Barry Sanders). But ... TJ Watt plays for the Steelers. He's won two division titles. And he's 0 and 5 in playoff games. That's unbelievable.

    Steelers haven't won a playoff game since Dan Rooney's passing and yet, Art will keep sponsoring this mediocrity because he's afraid of having to make any crucial decision.

    • @Nightwishmaster
      @Nightwishmaster 13 дней назад +2

      @@Jammaster1972 The Rooney Rule is NAMED after Dan Rooney, not ARII, and it was named after him because he was the head of the league's diversity committee. After Tony Dungy and Dennis Green were fired in the early 2000s a few civil rights lawyers released a study that showed that black coaches were denied coaching jobs and fired at a higher rate than white coaches despite having better records. Some players, coaches and front office people organized to push for what became the Rooney rule, to the surprise of absolutely nobody that has noticed that the majority of players are black and reasonably believe that black coaches should have the same opportunities as white coaches. The rule itself has issues though (like teams interviewing guys they have no intention to hire just to satisfy the rule) and they've changed how it works over the years.

    • @Jammaster1972
      @Jammaster1972 13 дней назад

      @ Civil rights lawyers? Oh you mean the NAACP, because they are standard of what is true and fair. The fact that the league has a diversity committee is farce. 50% of football players are black (probably more). The league and anything sports related should be based on merit. That is the "standard." Just like Lombardi would say, "winning is not everything, it's the only thing." Herm Edwards, "you play to win the game." You don't play to redistribute social equity. Tomlin should be fired plain and simple. He is the ultimate under achiever. He should have won more titles. They won't fire him because he's black and they are proud of their Rooney Rule.

Then it was 21-0 at the half and I just sat there wondering what the fuck happened to my beloved Steelers. I grew up in the 90's and early 2000's where I got to watch the evolution of Blitzburgh transform into the 2nd Steel Curtain. I witnessed 4 Super Bowl trips and 2 victories. Every one of those teams played with heart and grit and they never backed down. This years team, though? There wasn't an ounce of that visible and I think that's why it makes me so depressed. I watched these Steelers quit and now my heart just hurts, man. The saddest part about all of this is that nothing will change.

      Anyone who calls for the firing of Tomlin is just a spoiled loser that doesn’t realize how good they have it. You NEVER fire great coaches. You do fire GMs until you have a good one that can give your great coach an actually competitive roster they can work with.

      You do not need to bottom out and get worse before you can rebuild. A good GM knows how to rebuild while staying relatively competitive. The Steelers' GMs the last severals years just can't do that. They need to clean house with the FO.

    *UTree* - "Stop. I am _NOT_ bringing back Days Of Our Steelers."
    *Steelers* - (forces Tree to resurrect Days Of Our Steelers again and again and again).
    Sorry, Tree, but it is inevitable. Also, man, the Pittsburgh Steelers just beat the empathy out of our favorite yinzer. I don't know how to feel about this.

    The last time the Steelers won a playoff game, Zeke was still considered a good running back and 28-3 hadn't happened yet (it was three weeks away though)

    Damn. Neither Tree or Chiseled were angry or yelling or anything like that. Just deflated, disappointed. As a Bears fan, I can relate. Hell, I wish I had it half as good as the Steelers.

    As long as Tomlin is around we are in Groundhog Day.

    I was saying the Rooneys should just sell the team to somebody who wants to win since they won't get rid of Tomlin. You're right though this Rooney is far from any predecessors.

    I'm not surprised the Steelers blew it the last 5 games there schedule was easy to start the season honestly the worst thing to happen to the Steelers was scoring 44 points against Cincinnati cause it made them believe something they're not Mike Tomlin should be fired but he won't I also wouldn't resign Wilson they need to draft a quarterback this coming year it's the same old song and dance with this team Baltimore made changes in week 11 and now they're the number one ranked defense since then. Days Of Our Steelers are back but honestly it doesn't feel like they've never left.

      It was the snow game in Cleveland that made me realize that they are frauds.
