- 7/12 Karen Update, last week the Cops said they were going to press and file charges. On Friday I went to the State Attorneys Office and Records at the Palm Beach County Court House to see whats going on. I had to return to the police station a couple times. It was a rat race but was able to get a lot of information regarding all of this.

I didn’t see the part where he said the Sargent is out of town but he is wrong for giving you wrong information you should of asked someone else inside what district it is
I corrected my mistake. He said off. I translated that to out of town. But he sent to lake worth and u cant walk into the lobby, its closed, so the number outside gives u the info

@@julio65873 they are cops. Sheriff is a dept. Each municipality has police departments, the sheriffs have taken most of palm beach county. Some municipalities still have their own cops, like palm beach gardens, island of palm, Boca, not all is covered. Same for broward. Its BSO

I worked as a paralegal for the Criminal Intake Unit for the Miami SAO for 15 years, and these were the types of cases that I dealt with. This is how it works, if the case is a misdemeanor and the police didn't witness the incident then they refer the victim to the SAO to open an investigation to determine whether charges can be filed based on the evidence. However, if the charge is one of the exceptions, such as battery, as in this case, then the police can file the charges either by an arrest or a PTO (Promise To Appear) which the offender will receive a hearing date in the mail, but that is the police's discretion on how to handle. They could just tell you to go to the SAO if they wamted. In your last video, the officer said that they were going to charge her, which probably meant they were doing the PTO, which could take a month or two for the paperwork to go through before you see anything happen in court. So now you have to wait. If nothing has happened after a few months, that means that the police didn't file the PTO paperwork, and you'll have to follow up with the SAO. I'm assuming that it's the same procedure in West Palm Beach County, but it could be different. Very rarely did I see the police make an arrest on a misdemeanor that they didn't witness in which the charge was one of the excepoins and there was sufficient probable cause. They always referred the victim to the SAO. I've had victims of felonies where the subject was unknown, referred to the SAO by the police. Felony cases shouldn't be referred to the SAO neither any case in which the subject is unknown. I could go on and on about all of the people that were sent to the SAO by the police for all kinds of ridiculous thimgs that we don't do and I can only guess that it was just to get rid of the person so that they wouldn't have to deal with them anymore. I found it disgraceful how a lot of the victims were treated and that was one of the reasons that I left that job.
I appreciate it. He explained it was all E-Filed, and if so, some sort of docket, or case# should pop up, but the court system sees nothing, state office sees nothing. I get you, they have 21 days to file charges to the state, from what the state explained.
My thing is the false report, assault is clearly there as well (threat is assault in FL, so her saying im gonna punch u, thats assault), then striking is battery, even if you miss, she delivered a punch, you see all of it. Also he snatches at the phone twice. Kids get arrested for snatching candy at walmart…. Theres a lot of brushing under the carpet here.
That's why all them cops got fired and they're under investigation in Houston. They kept not handling the reports dating back over 10yrs. I might have to dig that article up again for him cuz I wanna say the feds had to get involved. That whole district needs to be under investigation at this point. That cop just blatantly lied!

But, like @Wtfbroward stated earlier, is that if it were the other way around. Him, doing what she did, then they would have thrown the book at him. He would have been picked up on a warrant and had to bond out, lawyer up and then get through the whole mess. Costing him a lot of $$$$.

If cops don't mind being recorded, want transparency, then it shouldn't be an issue. He has THREE recording devices on him.
Get the footage from the officer's cameras. Get the police department policy.
File complaints (on his behavior, misuse of the body camera if he didn't have it on, find anything and everything). My PD requires them to be truthful and not encage in intimidation. His charging from the doors to your feet is that.

Two different things can be simultaneously true.
Sounds like although the usual address is there, for district one, it temporarily is not there, but apparently at the address the officer provided?
Sounds to me like the officer IS trying to help facilitate your interest in locating the sergeant you are looking for.
He shared information to the best of his knowledge that the sergeant is not scheduled till Monday, that he called for the sergeant to come there to see you (apparently discovering that sergeant happened to be working on his day off), and that that sergeant did sign? turn in? Your case, not the other sergeant (that you apparently indicated?)
And that District One apparently is currently not at that address, but he provides where it currently is.
What does the phone call woman's voice say after giving the address as 3228 for District One? that gets cut off in your video? It seemed like maybe she was about to suggest a possible clarification to the confusion?
Perhaps the location was temporarily or recently moved?

I don't know what is accurate here.
But,
typically its best to cooperate together in problem solving miscommunication and ferret out where the misinterpretations may be, in a non accusatory manner.
Work together in communication problem solving first presuming that you are both intending to be helpful to one another and not hostile.
