    • @Dac54
      @Dac54 4 месяца назад +3

      Yes, all they can do is keep on winning. In a previous post, I said that they shouldn't expect much help from the opponents of the Braves, Diamondbacks, and Padres. At the rate things are going, they're going to probably need 90 wins or even a bit more, though they do own the tiebreaker with the Diamondbacks and the Padres if it comes to that.

    • @davidwalter2002

      It's actually the Braves who are under pressure more than the Mets. They have the lead, but it's not a good feeling to have another team, who's red hot at the moment, breathing down your neck. So the Braves are more worried than the Mets are.

He brought in rich hill on Sunday when criswell had a perfect game going. Lmfao. Again, rich hill is 44 years old. What part 44 did the red sox think would be beneficial for their baseball team? He's the oldest player in all of baseball. This is ridiculous. Amean honestly....this is absurd. The Boston red sox are featuring rich bleeping Hill as their late season/September call up guy? • @oromis1113
      @oromis1113 4 месяца назад +3

      No way a DH should be an MVP candidate. Ohtani is a phenomenal player and great hitter but of course it's easy to hit and steal bases when all you do is sit in the dugout for most of the game. Lindor plays elite defense and has been winning games for the Mets on both sides of the ball. That's what an MVP season looks like.

    • @colintca094
      @colintca094 4 месяца назад +1

      A DH (which is what Ohtani is this season) is expected to put up big numbers like that (maybe not as much in the SB department, so I can concede that), but a SS is more valued for strong defense than their hitting at least with respect to WAR. Lindor is an offensively talented SS along with strong defense to back it up, not even counting his contributions to the team in other ways.
      There is absolutely a strong case to be made for either one of them. 50/50 is definitely a good reason to win MVP, but I think MVP voting still considers contributions on both sides of the ball and with Ohtani not pitching, I think Lindor has a slight edge if he continues this pace through the regular season and the Mets make the playoffs.
      If only being on one side of the ball is what matters, then by that logic deGrom should have been in the conversation in 2018 with his 1.7 ERA and 269 Ks over 200+ IP and allowing an average of less than one baserunner per inning.
