I think that mouse hardware has already reached a point where spec increase doesn't translate into a percievable difference in user experience. Can you notice a difference between a 15000 dpi mouse and a 30000 dpi mouse? Most likely not. So you buy a mouse that you like, and you keep using it until it breaks, becomes too worn, or you get bored of it. In a sense we've already reached the forever mouse era. There's no longer a point in buying a new mouse because of a spec difference, and your current mouse will likely be absolutely Ok experience wise 3-5 years from now if its hardware can survive for that long.

exactly, human hands don't meaningfully change over time so a device designed to relay clicks from your fingers to your computer doesn't need to change either. I just recently watched a video where a guy cleans up a crusty old microsoft intellimouse and it worked perfectly fine.
if you want repeat customers as a HID company you need to do something like come up with new colorways, a new form factor, or convince esports players their mouse needs some new gimmicky feature to make sure their input registers 0.001ms faster than the other guy's.

There is no such thing as a forever computer or forever peripheral. The hardware improves and the old needs to be replaced. I just replaced my mouse because my old one was outdated. I kept my outdated computer longer than I wanted, but that was a budget issue. If 10:38 Logitech wants to charge me rent (because that is what a subscription really is) on a mouse I already paid good money for, they can kiss my business goodbye.

Logitech also have no support for repairs or maintanance. They have no in house repairs service, and when I reached out to pay for out of warranty repairs they said I should take my keyboard to a 3rd party repair store. But they don't provide any spare parts to 3rd party retailers.
