Barbour Sapper is a copy of a US Army M65 field jacket with the added benefits of waterproofing and luxury lining. Having spent all of my uni years in an M65, this jacket is comfortably familiar. My favourite outdoor jacket.

Great review. The Sapper also has shoulder seams that allow for greater arm movement and flexibility, making it ideal for working outdoors.

Thanks for the info! That is a great feature of this jacket, a proper work horse!

Great video. Answered many questions for me.
I am between buying Sapper or Corbridge and I would be really happy to hear your opinion. Where I live we barely see minus temperature. Usually winters are no colder than 5 degrees celsius but with really strong wind and some rain. Would Corbridge be warm enough or should I rather go with sapper?
And about sizing, I wear size 34 Bedale and it is a good fit for me. Should I go for Sapper S and Corbridge M? I am 168cm (5 feet 6) and 74kg. Some comments make me think twice about a Corbridge since I have a little bit of a gut.

    Great review.
    I have 3 Barbours.
One of which is the Captain Phillips jacket but I cannot find any information on it.
Did you ever do a review of this jacket? It was released just about the time the James Bond version was popular but only came in black.
    Looking forward to another review.

Not one we've seen or stocked actually, we'll do some research and delve a little deeper!

@@michaelstewartmenswear2397 It is a Barbour Dept’ B Captain Phillips Sonar jacket in Black wax. I bought it as a one off in the Barbour store in London’s Covent Garden in around 2012 I believe but am not sure. Hardly worn it as it was a win and I have 3 other Barbours plus 3 Belstaff Trailmaster jackets.
Wanted to start a collection and wear them occasionally but where I live it gets a little too warm at times.

I cant decide what should I get, I live in London and work in an office but I ride a motorcycle. Also I am an athletic large man. Any suggestions?

I'm a rather slim guy and wears the Ashby in a size M. Would I need an M for this one as well?

A M will fit, I'd suspect you'll find it has a little more room in it that the Ashby however

I really like this jacket however is there a version with just the tartan instead?

Could you review the Stratford. Great job by the way keep them coming. A few more close ups would be nice too.

Absolutely, we have some Stratford coming into stock soon so keep an eye out for that. And we can certainly do some more close-ups. Thank you so much for your comment!

There is a newer version of the Sapper with detachable hood.
