Today we are reviewing the giveaway watch, GAB2100 also known as the Casioak.
After the success of the regular GA2100 ot was only a matter of time before Casio expanded on the collection and this one, with its tough solar and Bluetooth technology is the best so far, in my opinion!
The rest of the watch is the same as the regular GA-2100 which means it is one of the thinnest and smallest GShocks you can buy.

I have the yellow one. It’s pretty neat. I wish they would do it with the hybrid bracelets that some g shock squares have
Yeah. I wish they could give us the metal cover version with the high contrast metallic indices. I like the existing line, but have always found the plasticky indices to be a little cheap-looking
how long does the illumination stay in the dark, in your experience?
@@fhm4 Do you mean the lume? Not long. Casio has very poor quality lume even on the highest end models like the MR-G. It's next to useless. Fortunately now we have a LED illumination option on a Tough Solar watch. You even have the options between 1 sec or 3 sec illumination.

@@twraia g shock has a habit of adding minimum 200-300usd to the price the moment metal is involved (beyond the caseback 😅). I thknk resin is fine for this price point.

There is positive display version. Lum is kind of average though, but don't expect that much from casio in that area.
I have this watch too, my only gripe is that it can't show the day and date at the same time like the non solar model, it can show the month and the date but 99.99% of the time I know what month we are haha
I have this watch. Its perfect for me i have some problems with the small display but analog works for me too. I would say they can improve lume or add a good display
I have the yellow one. I keep it disconnected from my phone. Neat that it will set with just the push of a button though. Love that thing.
WOW THIS SUCH A BEAUTIFUL BAD ASS WATCH, WISH I COULD AFFORD TO GET ONE IT WILL NEVER LEAVE MY WRIST. THESE WATCHES ARE WAY MORE NICER THAN SOME OF THEM 20 AND 30 MILLION DOLLAR WATCHES TOO THO

I have a green version. Really nice watch. Never had any issues with it. Bluetooth works flawlessly. I wear it on some days instead of my Garmin watch wih MIP display. I use second Time zone function and sometimes a timer.
Cool watch but that 60min timer limit and the fact that they replaced the day subdial with modes/battery charge is a shame. To still remain independent from the smartphone they could have added a mode showing low mid high battery charge and leave the day subdial as it is on the original .
Blah blah blah who needs to know which day it is I know it everyday or check it on your phone lock screen and you can do 24h timers on your phone gtfo

Why not check out the new GBM-2100 series which have lumed markers and hands, solar as well as BT with metallic bezels.

That's the downside of colored gsbocks they tend to get darker that's why I stick to black color
But now I have the full metal oak and sold the resin ones
Hey, I'm thinking to buy this watch and have a question- Can we set/change the time in watch itself instead of going through phone. I just want to use it like a normal watch without any connection to bluetooth. Will the time still keep up?

In many countries we don't have radio signal, like in Brazil, where I live, that's why I prefer Bluetooth

I recently bought a yellow one. The resin band and case have been rubbing against the case, making a really frustrating squeaky sound when there’s wrist movement. It’s a little more pronounced when I wear it tightly during the day. Tried silicon grease, and it didn’t help by much. Do other owners have similar experience? I’ve seen others commenting on this and videos documenting the same problem
I mod mine with casioak rose gold with bracelet.. no more squeaking sound,and the quality build felt way more better..
@@adyyzels ha ha yeah thought about doing something similar, except after wearing a full metal g-shock over the last few years, I’m enjoying how light the watch it. It’s refreshing
@@twraia this is my first g shock,have other watches all metal,included edifice.. i cant stand the lightness of gshock and the squeaking sound..😂 i order the royal oak full metal bracelet the next day.. i need to feel the weight..😅 and this full metal is still not the heaviest in my collection..
@@adyyzels I see where you’re coming from. Most of my watches are on the heavier side as well - dive watches, often on bracelets. It’s a matter of personal taste, of course, but having spent the last few weeks wearing this resin model, I must say I forgot how good resin g-shocks are. If you like heftier watches, perhaps you could consider the more premium screw-back models like the GW5000U or try out the full-metal series. I enjoy the DLC polished case-back, the flexible and airy bracelet, and the general high quality finish of the watch. The only downside is the lack of a sapphire crystal. In any case, I’m glad you found a way to make your first g-shock worked for you
After wearing the watch for a few days the squeaking subsided...maybe yours has settled too?

I have a question for you Watchgeek… I have a Casio Ga700 that keeps incredible time, its my most accurate gshock yet! I have set the time on January 1st, thats almost 3 months ago and that watch as 2 sec behind only! My question is this : are the Ga700 more precise than other Gshocks or did I get a very accurate watch by luck? Thanks for taking the time to read and hopefully answer me 👍🏼

My GA-2110ET-8AER looks very similar to the one shown here. Got mine as a birthday gift. Rarely use it, cause I can't read the time at a glance. The missing minute markers and the negative LCD display are a huge turn off. I'd never buy one myself, not even the never GAB-2100. For the money there are far more superior G-SHOCK models available.
