This video is posted just at the right time. I’m helping my aunt re-do her bathroom so she can age in her home. It will be helpful in helping her choose tile and fixtures.
Oooo. As a designer I've been making mood boards for over 15 years. But the software you're using is a total game changer! So much easier than the archaic software in using. I love how the links to the items are saved, and how you can add comments. I'll be downloading this immediately! Thanks for the video. Super helpful and informative for the novice and expert alike. 👍🏽⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Holy Cats!!! You can make swatches all together instead of saying you will remember, but in this case you can really remember!!!! It allows you to capture your creativity but adds the useful and logical bits that are also essential for making your vision come to life!
So it's like what Pinterest should have been, but now you don't even pin things, rather "save" them. I miss the simple days of Pinterest. It's so cluttered with garbage now.
@@tangerinetangerine4400 the ads are so annoying…and they were making me nauseous. But I just learned that you can turn off the auto-play option on the ads. They are still there but not playing. This has really helped me.
As an interior designer myself, I LOVE mood boards. They really help to envision what my client wants in their living spaces. Great explanation and video!
Short, but sweet. And thank you for keeping your videos focused on design and decor and not going off into other topics too much. A small amount is fine. 🙂
This method looks so, so, so helpful. An improvement over just a Pinterest board or making a collage on Canva or a phone's collage feature for example or piecing together phone apps and free online tools that none of them do everything and aren't always set up user-friendly or quality and can have lots of ads and is a bunch of different tools instead of this more all-in-one method. And not everyone wants to have or learn Photoshop. So excited to try this!!!! So fun. It's always worth looking through comments on videos. Below a comment says PNG documents can more easily have backgrounds removed than JPEGs can - great to know!! There's probably many easy online or app tools to convert JPEG to PNG.
As a tip for removing backgrounds: often I find that it doesn’t work with jpg images. What you can do (on an apple device) is screenshot the image you want to remove the background for. The screenshot will be saved as a png file and for whatever reason backgrounds can be more easily and accurately removed from png images.
Thanks so much! I’m helping my son with his first house. This will be so helpful because the visual will help us be on the same page. I always wanted to learn how to do this. I’m old school clip it out…. Not any more!!! Watch out! Mama has a brand new tool!!! 😉
Thank you! This tutorial changed my mood from from "cranky" to "happy", which is a better palette. I liked the idea of Milanote, but was too intimidated to even look at it. A tutorial is exactly what I needed!
I love using Milanote it makes planning a room so much easier. Thank you for the including the colour palette I always have problems with this now i know how to include into my mood board.
Thank you SO MUCH for this. I am just starting the process of re-decorating our townhouse. We are getting rid of most of our furniture and switching from traditional to transitional style. It's frankly a very overwhelming but exciting project. Having planning tools to develop our mood board is brilliant and will help us to finally create a space that is truly ours after 30 years. Love your videos! They are very useful and funny!
It's so crazy that you posted this video today! I'm trying to redo my living room and I've really been wanting to make a color palette. This is perfect!
This video is EXTREMELY helpful - thank you! I'm getting ready to redecorate a 200+ squ. ft bedroom (which is currently a darker beige that looks brown) with one oddly-placed north facing window. I am rather hopeless when it comes to styling and home decor (and I can really only do things on a tight budget right now). Your channel has helped me so much and I am about to sign up for milanote to help this process. Thank you again - can't wait to watch future videos.
?Can it add from your camera roll too? Love this!! Thank you Thank you!! I’ve never done a mood board because I haven’t been able to understand how they help, but adding this/not that works for me!! This is much easier way to build something to scroll through and get overall feel, and see what doesn’t work overall. I finally get it!! You & Julie K are my favorite YT designers❤️
I love the beginning of this video and I love that sometimes you keep your mistakes in. Listen, no one is perfect and I love those subtle imperfections. Enjoying (and learning a lot) from your channel! :)
Thanks for this! I'm a novice and trying to educate myself so I can decorate my own home. right now we're literally a blank slate with only primer and basic furniture. When I started watching this episode I thought it would just be a big Milanote commercial, which I guess it was, but was really very helpful. The additional tools you mentioned for color-checking and notation are also great. I really appreciate all this.
I literally spent a couple of hours yesterday looking through numerous videos of another RUclipsr that I've subscribed to, looking for this exact sponsor because I need to create a vision board for one of my clients but had no luck! Thank you, Nick! This literally could not have come at a better time! You're the best! :)
Hey Nick, I've been following for a few months now, seen most of your videos and wanted to say they've been super helpful! If you get a chance to make one about window treatments (shades vs curtains vs blinds), pairing different ones, and especially what to do with patio doors (it seems sliding track panels are pretty popular now-maybe there are tricks to those too like hanging curtains high and wide), I'd be interested in hearing your opinions! Thanks and keep it up! 😀
Great question and I almost put it in the videos. I don't think you can from the paint store but there are great websites where you can use hex codes to convert to all the different paint companies.
Guess who did a mood board the other day? Superb timing, Nick! I‘m moving into a new apartment soon and felt overwhelmed with finding furniture and colors that fit together. But on a board you can actually get a good sense of the room you are planning.
Thanks A LOT for that great recommendation! We're moving in August and I always get lost with all those different wishlists and end up buying stuff that don't go together and was never really planned out. I love your videos, keep them coming, they make my life (and my home) so much nicer!
So glad you posted this! I signed up a few weeks ago when I saw you mention it in another video. But I didn’t know where to start and hadn’t had a chance to play with it yet. Thank you!
Thank you for this. I’d been searching for mood board apps and never came across Milanote. I’ve downloaded the Safari extension and created a mood board for our boys’ playroom. We’re building a house now, and it’s so helpful to start organizing my thoughts. Perfect timing!
When I was designing my house I was using Canva which worked okay but this looks so much easier! Especially with Milanote since you have the links saved to it
I LOVE your channel and all the great advice you have. I’m moving to Phoenix, I hate the southwestern aesthetic and I’m getting an all white kitchen (😩👎🏼). Can you make a video on how to add color to, or entirely transform an all white kitchen into a more vibrant space please? I soooo need your help!
Hi Nick. I loved this video. Could you give some tips for those like me who don't really know how to finish the stage of collecting beautiful images on internet to start putting these ideas together and making a cohesive moodboard?
I'd never heard of this tool. This is awesome. I plan to make some mood boards for the new space I will be moving into. I planned to use Canva. I'll try this tool as well. Thanks for sharing!
Talk about timing 😳 I've been trying to figure out how to combine my pics, samples etc as I try to "see the whole picture" for my bedroom as I search online 🙃 THANKS 😊
Also, for all the background furniture you graciously linked in the description, the thing I kept fixating on was that big, handsome grey clock. Where can we find that??
thank you very much for all these tipps! i've already created two boards on milanotes, one to redecorate my terrace and one to find the perfect rugs for the dining and living areas! :D the hex color cards are super helpful to find a matching color :D
