Hello, thank you for stopping to watch this video. I just wanted to let you know that the cost of living discussed in the video is our essential cost of living as a family of four. Please feel free to share your monthly cost of living with me, regardless of where you live. I would like to know.
Good evening! To give you a rough estimate of the cost of living in the UK, I’ll break down common expenses and then convert them to USD. Prices can vary depending on the city, lifestyle, and other factors, but this should give you a general idea. 1. Housing (Rent) London: $2,500 - $4,500 (for a 1-2 bedroom apartment in the city centre) Other cities (e.g., Manchester, Birmingham): $1,200 - $2,500 2. Utilities (Electricity, Water, Gas, Internet, etc.): $200 - $300 per month 3. Groceries: $300 - $600 per month 4. Transportation Public Transport (monthly pass): $100 - $250 (depending on the city and distance travelled) Car (fuel, insurance, maintenance): $300 - $500 5. Dining Out Occasional restaurant meals (mid-range): $200 - $400 6. Entertainment and Miscellaneous; $200 - $400 7. Healthcare: NHS is free at the point of service, but private insurance can cost $100 - $200 monthly, depending on coverage. 8. Miscellaneous Expenses (clothing, personal care, etc.); $100 - $200 Total Monthly Cost: London: $3,600 - $6,400 Other Cities: $2,200 - $4,750 Additional Notes: Exchange Rate: GBP 1 = USD 1.25 (as of recent data). This may fluctuate. Comfortable Living: These costs assume a moderate lifestyle, not extravagant but with some room for leisure and savings. London vs. Other Cities: London is significantly more expensive, especially regarding rent. This breakdown should help you plan your budget if you're considering living in the UK. Costs can vary, so keeping an eye on exchange rates and adjusting your budget accordingly is a good idea.
I have two offers from Hull and MMU and I had to refer back to this video to make a decision on which to go for. God help me, my course really will flourish well in Manchester than in Hull and as such choosing Manchester, I definitely will contact your landlord cos I'm coming with my family. Thanks this is useful. I want to rent a flat in the city centre and i dont see much difference in rent prices between city centre vs greater manchester other than council tax. Have you ever lived in the UK as a single person or couple? Im wondering if you notice much of a difference in utilities with 4 people vs 1 or 2.
Well, I have noticed the price difference between renting a house or apartment in the city versus outside the city. I lived in a 2-bed apartment that was a 10-minute walk to the Manchester city centre before moving into a 2-bedroom house outskirts of the city that is a 20-minute drive to the city centre. The rent for the apartment was £1200 while the rent for the house was £875, which is a price difference of £325. Below are links to the tour of both the house and apartment ruclips.net/video/k4mboLh66Wc/видео.html ruclips.net/video/ZFkVbqORlx0/видео.html I have lived in the UK as a bachelorette and a married woman. Your question is unclear, but you might be asking about a situation where two people are working and wondering if one person's salary can be saved entirely while living off the other person's salary. This method is a common financial strategy, often called "living on one income," which can be an excellent way to save money quickly. Here’s a general outline of how it can be done: Steps to Save One Salary 1. Assess Combined Income and Expenses - Calculate the total monthly income from both jobs. - List all monthly expenses, including rent/mortgage, utilities, groceries, transportation, debt payments, and discretionary spending. 2. Create a Budget - Develop a budget that allows you to cover all necessary expenses with just one salary. This might require reducing discretionary spending. 3. Save the Second Salary - Deposit the second salary directly into a savings account or investment account. Avoid touching this money for day-to-day expenses. 4. Emergency Fund: - Ensure you have an emergency fund (usually 3-6 months of living expenses) for unexpected expenses. 5. Track Progress: - Regularly review your budget and spending to ensure you are staying on track. Adjust as necessary to maintain your savings goals. Example Scenario - Combined Monthly Income: £8,000 (Person A: £4,000, Person B: £4,000) - Monthly Expenses: £4,000 In this scenario, you would live off Person A's salary of £4,000 and save Person B's entire salary of £4,000 each month. Benefits - Rapid Savings Growth: One full salary can significantly boost your savings rate. - Financial Security:** It can provide a cushion for emergencies, large purchases, or future investments. -Flexibility: This strategy offers flexibility if someone needs or wants to stop working. Challenges Lifestyle Adjustments: To make this work, you might need to reduce non-essential expenses and make lifestyle changes. -Consistency: Maintaining this strategy requires discipline and consistent budgeting. If this differs from what you meant, please provide more details or clarify your question. We want to ensure we've fully addressed your initial query about living on one income to save money.
Thanks for the video but please is there jobs opportunity for health care and other job apart from health sectors and what is the pay like please? Thanks

@@onyiugwunwa2328 2500 a month is about 38k annual salary. Not sure about your other question. I typed in 12000 in the take home salary calculator and it shows no taxes but then on another website it says if you make more than 1000 a year you need to pay taxes. Maybe the latter is just referring to an annual income tax return.

Can couples stay in a studio apartment?
They can.

Above £1748 monthly.
To put it in perspective if you make 30,000 year then your take home salary after taxes is about 2000 a month.
