This video was so helpful! My reel is a bit touchy and it took me a little longer to fix, but this video made it so much easier for me to get my new line on. Thank you!
Yeah, never bothered with relining a spin cast before because I love spinning. Recently acquired a micro spincast that has 2lb test which ain't gonna do much for me catching fish considering I tied a hook on and it broke immediately when I placed mediocre tension to secure the knot 😅. So now I reline it and you made it so easy. Always thought it would be a pain, but it's like a spinning. Just make sure you go through the cover with your line when starting.
Thanks for the tips I'm a starting fisherman and got a old pole a just bought some line and this vidja will really help me out left a like a thumbs up. Thanks sooo much
Took my brand new Battle II 5000 for a spin yesterday for the very first time and I hooked a 20lb yellowtail using a Ugly Stik X2 (medium hard) rod ruclips.net/user/postUgkxM68VkfsQhHaabDce1IwOCXuvumcpbZ_k . This combo was recommended on some website and it did not disappoint me. The reel is smooth, the drag click is pretty cool cause i think it adds to the excitement of fighting the fish, personally the drag is my favorite part. I use braid and 300 yards will fill the entire spool. This combo is my main setup from now on although I have to disclose I am new to fishing.
Thank you so much i needed this and need to re do my catfish rods...its the one flaw i had with fishing and this helped a lot. Thank you fishing brother from a fellow fishing sister! I plan to go today to the madison county lake and maybe the hays nature preserve both places i found out were not far. Wish me luck!
@@scratchgolf I did pretty good ! I tore up the brim fish and i caught these weird ones that i just found out are called chub? no one knew what the heck they were but i kept them for cut bait to use for catfishing later
I have a push button reel but when I unscrew it, the line is going THRU the bell and then a knot is tied around underneath the bell. I can't tell from underneath how that line is getting fed up thru the bell.
Great How to Bro! I Thank You for this Vid, I hated stringing these when I was a Kid! I rather use the open Bale Reel! Thanks for sharing! Hey If You can...do a Vid on Open Bale, I want to see how You do it!
i just have one question, how do you get the line on that pin that's on the reel if you don't know what I'm talking about i'm talking the point on the top at 1:34
@@scratchgolf if not i have an open faced rod but i wanna use my push buttons since they are my grandfathers rods and he passed away so they kinda mean something to me
Does it matter which way it comes off the spool top or bottom like a bait caster my daughter just pulled a damn near brand new light action ugly stick while we were magnet fishing and it has the spincaster on it I barely managed to take it apart and clean it up which was a feet in it self (thanks to a Mary Jane filled brain) well that and 30+ years of using reel fishing reels
Ugh I'm so aggravated ive never had anyone show me how to fish so I'm learning to do it by myself and my problem is after I do the nots and put the cover on and start reeling it. It just spins and doesn't reel in the line idk what to do or if it's broke I'm so confused
Help?! I have a reel a customer brought me that is the next size up of this, it's the synergy 20. We can't get the top to unscrew to clean and recondition it. He brought it to us to be done because it got wet when the place he stored it flooded. Does this reel have a bolt or something holding it on that we're missing or is it just stuck/swelled with debris. Either way do you have any tips? I would be extremely grateful for any help.
Hi. I try this and my line start rolling up and then stop. Then when i try to reel in the line doesn't go on, the reel just turn but nothing happens. Help please!
james bennett I did when spiderwire first came out. It eats away at the spinner and pins that wrap the string on the spool like a mini hacksaw. It did on mine anyway
So you just leave that tag end hanging out like that? And the cap screwed down around it with it sticking out past the threads? Man that's just sloppy. I have to maintain a few of these reels because its what my wife likes to use and even though I think they are junk I still try to do the job properly. The knot you show is what I use but I pull it tight and the reach in with a small pair of scissors and trim that tag end. I've found it doesn't take much to make these spincast reels act funny and what you did would definitely lead to problems IMO. In case anyone wants a really good spincast (push button) reel they should check out the Daiwa 210RL. From the 80's or 90's I think and back when Daiwa was Daiwa-Seiko the watch company. All metal and buttery smooth. Oh well, I digress. TRIM that TAG END! haha Thanks for the video.
You really have a TERRIBLE sense of distances! The entire top of the reel is probably about 1in, but you seem to think that the space where the string is being wound is 1in. Lol
You are BS. This video is about how to respool a push line fishing rod. Not whatever lunatic narrative you have. Quit commenting on people's videos you moron.

I cut the most of the tag end of the simple knot before make the spool knot an tighten it but still good advises, thanks an good reels for beginners.
Thank you for the video it was a great help
Glad it helped
Thank you, this showed to be stupendously helpful!
Saved my butt! Thanks!

Thank you this was really helpful 🎉
I can add one more helpful tip. If when spooling up the line you notice the line is twisting, flip the spool over. I will stop the twist.
Doesn’t work

Pull it tight. Then reel.
I took the top part off and I just don’t know how to put the line back in to make it work ahain
That spincast looks vintage! I love old fishing stuff!
works good as new!
Is that an AR build pad/diagram?
Thank you very much 😎😁
Glad to Sir.
I have one like this its a 10 pound 75 yards i believe.
How do i know how much line to put when refilling??
I explain it in the video, you'll see when it's about 1/2 to 3/4 full, thats enough.
Should be about an 1/8 inch gap between line and reel.

+Alaina Rockwall try wd40. I've found them in lakes fishing before. Most times they're just toast after they get wet for too long.
If it got wet its junk unless you want to brake it and get new stuff that same thing happens to me

Good job putting the line on backwards
What happens if you fill it like on spinning or casting reels to 1/8 inch of the spool top?
It should work.
Its what Shakespeare recommends.
