  • I bought a whole box full of AMIGA goodness off of eBay. I really just looked at the photo of the stuff and the price tag and wildly clicked the buy button. Let's check out what's in there for the 50€ I paid.

    Another way to support me (without having to spend any more money than you normally would) is to use my Amazon affiliate links.
    If you buy stuff on Amazon, you can use the below links to get to your country’s Amazon site and I will get a small share of what you pay there. You can buy whatever you like and use this link as your regular Amazon link if you want to. The price and everything else stays the same for you. I consider this an okay (and easy) way to give me some support.

    Nice score indeed. Sometimes I buy things off eBay expecting them not to work in some cases hoping they don't work so I can have some fun fixing what I buy. The mouse you have there is for the A1000.

      Yes, I do that quite often. The prices for retro computer stuff are going insane lately sadly. I continue having fun with this Amiga haul still though. ;)

    Thanks for the replies on the other videos . It made me want to share with you relative to this video that I also will be inheriting my families computer the Atari Falcon this Friday !!! . While not an amiga it certainly did share many of the chipsets such as Motorola and hardware limitations of the amiga. in all honesty apart from the difference in workbench to ataris tos I felt just as comfortable playing dizzy , turrican , paradroid 90, and various other awesome
    Titles on the st and falcon as a child ... I felt we have something in common Jan as we can both appreciate retro machines and know their value from hardware to experience as a child with our family . Eventually my son will inherit all of my consoles and computers - unlike today pcs, laptops , will not only fail to have any value but also even operate properly due to expired services etc giving amiga and Atari to name a few a frozen experience that can be handed down to generations . An exception however is I Wish my amiga cd32 had an extension card but heck even more reason to build one myself someday , enjoy your videos and wish for more :)

      Oh, the Falcon is an incredible machine! Enjoy. :) I agree on that the retro computers are much easier to pass on to the next generation. I think it's important to keep them alive. There's actually an open source expansion board for the CD32 that TerribleFire (RUclips channel) developed as a weekend project just recently. It's called the TF328. I highly recommend checking it out. ;)

      Yeah the falcon will be awesome I can barely hold my excitement in haha! Oh wow Jan! thank you for letting me know about the open source cd3d expansion board... I've just managed to do some SMD soldering 2 weeks ago with much success and look forward to giving something like this a shot, In fact the old expansion cost too much and this would be an ideal first attempt at something valuable and improve my CD32 at the same time. Thank you for referring me to Terriblefire's youtube channel :) I'll subscribe to him and watch his videos to get the full gist of what it offers but from what it appears on the github IDE and 8mb fast ram expansion alone would be awesome... drooling already :)
      As for the cd32, I know it could never replace an a1200 however I'm a very lucky man as my cd32 plays Verbatim CDR's without any delay like I've heard can be a issue, PHEW don't like to pot tweak as I have not invested in a oscilloscope yet. Doing an RGB mod on it in a few days dropping out the RF box and replacing with a d9 . I'll take a few photos of hardware and rgb output quality when I'm done I'll post them in this conversation. :)
      Now time to watch your new video :)

    Wow... what a jerk putting those chips loose like that... I am glad you got everything so cheap, but seriously... I would be PISSED at the seller for how they packed it all.

    • @JanBeta
      @JanBeta  5 лет назад

      Yeah, not the best packaging indeed. Still a lucky find though so I won't complain. Big kudos to the postal service for not throwing this stuff around too much, too... ;)

    Hi! congrats for yor channel, subscribed. Stick with heavy psu... much much better than light one... can power an 1200 and the light one no..

      Jorge Carvalho Thanks! The heavy PSUs really are very sturdy indeed. :)

      Definitely. :) It also made for some good video material.

    Do you have a video how you connect your laptop to display Amiga video output?

    • @JanBeta
      @JanBeta  6 лет назад

      Unfortunately not. I used one of those cheap EasyCap video capturing devices. The picture quality is pretty bad really (looks better in the videos than in real life for some reason).

    Wow, that's some horrible packing lol. If that went over here to the U.S., it'd be one big mass of plastic bits. But only 50€, that's amazing.

    • @JanBeta
      @JanBeta  6 лет назад +1

      Yeah, it was an amazing bargain. Plus, I still didn't make all the videos that I can make from the bits in this box. ;)

    @jan do you still have that Winkelmouse from the Amiga 1000 ? Wanna trade for something retro related stuff from Commodore/Amiga ?

    • @JanBeta
      @JanBeta  4 года назад +1

      I still have the Winkelmouse but I got my hands on an A1000 recently, so I'm going to need it myself. Sorry! Video series coming soon(ish), too.

    How did you get image using the portable pc ?

    • @JanBeta
      @JanBeta  7 лет назад

      I used a cheap EasyCap video capturing stick and the "MirrorPro" app. Works for me. I wouldn't recommend it, though. The EasyCap sticks are very difficult to get to work properly. There are different chipsets with different drivers and different capabilities. And you don't know which one you get if you buy one.

      Ja! Somebody told me already. It has been repaired but seems to be an original. It's probably worth more than I paid for the whole box. ;)

    Eine zu grosse Schraube holst du mit einem Hammer raus?! Ich dachte du bist Jan Beta und nicht Jan Hammer. ;)
    Würde Ich in Zukunft bei Amiga Gehäusen NICHT machen denn die sind in der Regel Spröde wie Glas,weil der Weichmacher raus ist.

    you can restore this pins chips

    • @JanBeta
      @JanBeta  7 лет назад +1

      Yes, I'm definitely going to try to restore that second Amiga and bend the pins in shape/solder on new pins/use sockets. The board has quite a few issues, though. Don't know yet if I can get it to work.

    Man, that's terrible packing. If you're going to sell things, please don't pack like this.

    • @JanBeta
      @JanBeta  7 лет назад

      Yeah, I was quite surprised how well the Amigas survived this. The only thing that may have been damaged in transit is the bend pins on the chips.
