Race to the King 2023

I took part in this year's Race to the King - a 100km figure of eight race around the South Downs in the UK. It was a very warm day, especially compared to the past few weeks - which made it a rather challenging; but I fought on though and managed a top 10 finish, coming in 8th place (being closely persued by the 9th place finisher - you don't usually expect a 500m sprint finish in a 100km race!).
I wore my GoPro throughout, and managed to capture some of the glorious South Downs scenery as I went past, Previously, the race was an A-to-B route from Arundel to Winchester - and I really loved it when I did it in 2018, but unfortunately it had to change in 2020 - however, the new route is very good too!
Threshold Sports put on really well-supported and organised races, and this was no exception. Strongly recommend their races to anyone, especially if it's your first ultra!
