I had a blast at my first GNR! Fell off my goal pace at half way so just soaked in the atmosphere and cruised the rest of the run :)
best Half for sure , best people and best supported
Totally agre
Great video. See ya Sunday. Think they listened about the start as back to original set up! yeha! 🏃♀️🏃♂️🏅
Come to the shakeout on Saturday or Sunday to the meet up at 9.15 at exhibition park
Absolutely Brilliant video Chris! It was a great day, crowds were amazing and helped me at the end to push to a 1.43 pb, mustnt of been far from you but with 60k around you its hard to spot people! Loved the lads getting that early beer, priceless!!
Fantastic!
My 8th GNR and course PB - def a 100/10 from me. Good to meet you boys and shake your hands outside the starting pen. 🤝🏻👏🏻
Nice to meet you
Well done guys, I got a PB this year 1hr 54mins 35secs, it was an awesome race
Well done congrats
Quality video! Shame didnt see you! So glad people enjoy us northern lads and lasses! Another amazing GNR! keep up the good content mate!
Next time!
Pleased you enjoyed your time in our little city, I wasn’t running myself this year but cheering on at Jarrow and saw you run past. Great vid!
Thank you!
Great vlog! Really gave me the feel of it!
All the folk crowding around at the start... genuinely makes me queasy and slightly breathless 😳
Great work from the Fordy Runs gals + guys.
Thank you so much! Was pretty awesome
Highlight of my weekend wasn’t a few days away from the kids, nor the run in sub 2nd or catching myself on BBC pre race. It was meeting Chris, Simon and Toby in an Italian restaurant on Saturday night and getting a geeky pic with the lads. Really nice to meet you all
Thanks for saying hi!
It was such a good day and great to meet lots of other fordys
So much fun.
Great video... 😁My friend Paula from Glasgow was running it she beat yous!!!.. 🥳🥳🥳🥳I told her to look out for yous and she says yous got a shout out at the start...😁Well done guys!.. 😁🥳🥳🥳🏴🏃♀️x
Was amazing meeting you yesterday, love the channel keep up the amazing content.
Thank you!!!
So many runners 😎🔥🔥🔥 what a great event. Beautiful weather too. Well done 💪💪
Cracking race!
Thanks for filming I’ve now relived all of yesterday! This was my first HM ever at GNR at the age of 45 yrs. It was amazing! Not as quick as you guys , fingers crossed I get a place next year defo will be back
That's awesome!
Well done Chris and your Fordy team. Did look for you all on the field but you know what it's like. Great race and enjoyed your video. (was a PR for me 😀 )
Thanks !
Agree with the queues at the start. An absolute shambles.
Yeah only thing that was a negative other than that 100/10
I saw you all before the race going through the gates before exhibition park. Was a great day I'll never forget.
Glad you enjoyed
Great video! I watched a few of your videos leading up to the GNR for tips and advice, including your recent long run podcast, very helpful! I saw you and overtook you just before the Heworth roundabout and said 'nice one on your RUclips channel' and you said something like 'cheers, go on son'! It was my 1st GNR, my 2nd HM and I finished it in 1.41.18, a 4 minute PB! Can't wait to do it again next year!
Legend well done mate
Great to see you up North. The start qué was a first done it many times and not had that issue.
see you next year
Cracking Vlog. Laughing all the way through. My 29th GNR, yesterday. Hopefully see you at Royal Parks.
Thanks!!! Wait til Sundays Vlog 🤣
Love watching you and your boys!! I’m like you, I NEVER shut up while running. Lol
🤣🤣🤣
It was a great run the only down side was slow/non runners not going to the side which slowed me down no end
Thanks
👊
Great video, was good to see you at the start on my way to the pen ( green vest I shouted hi). Nice video as always.
Thanks buddy
Thanks so much for the tips on the podcast on the Friday night for this, ensured I didn’t miss a bit of this amazing race! Especially the tip to go left! “Oggy oggy oggy”
Love your work hope to bump into you at a future race
Thank so much glad you had a good race
Saw you having dinner in AskItalian the evening before but we didn't want to disturb you! Smashed it and what an amazing event!!
I appreciate that
Quality Vlog as per usual 👍
Thanks 👍
brilliant vid mate, those oggie oggie oggies where from running with andy (another youtuber) literally just watched that before this, how weird!
Proper weird!
It was my first time doing the GNR yesterday and your video does not do it justice at all. Unbelievable event!
does not or does?
@@FordyRuns does not. I mean that in a good way. Edited the comment for clarity 🤣🤣
Also the hints and tips podcast you did the other day helped out massively. Especially the embankment tip 🤣
Great video guys. Definitely going to try and get into the ballot next year if not charity place. #bucketlistrace
It was great to see you on Sunday and thanks for the photo 🤣
Nice to meet you
Looks amazing 👍 well done fellas 👏
Thank you!!!
Really enjoyed it yesterday I’ll be back next year
see you there
I ran this race for 1st time , loved it never seen so many people , very moving for minute silence at the start. Great video , didn’t spot me on it tho.
yes the start was very moving
Another cracking vlog Chris. You guys have to try Chester 10k, half marathon and the marathon. Looking forward to meeting up in London. Great work as always.....OGGY, OGGY, OGGY....
Thanks mate
That was me in the yellow Team RunGeordieRun T-shirt you overtook on the line. Meant to say Hi but given how I’d blown up 9 miles in I could barely speak 😂
Still got it done so well done
Was tracking you and Toby on the app, great effort boys 👍
Thank you! Speedgoat left us 🤣
Fordy your a mad scone! As we say here In Dublin - great vid
Thanks I think that’s a compliment 🤣
How do you make the go pro selfie stick invisible ?
Well done mate and sorry I didn’t make the meet up, it was so busy I was waiting for the loo so long I didn’t make it. However my run went great and knocked 20 mins off my last GNR best time in 2018 and did 1:44 👍
Booom well done lad
Also agree they mucked up changing the route to the start, loads didn’t make it to the pens in time
@@FordyRuns cheers Chris 👍
Queues were rubbish. Looks a lot quieter at the sharper end of the field - completely congested all the way around for me. Great atmosphere 👍 managed to high five Eilish 👍 , and Colin 👍 and briefly managed to meet some dude called Chris Ford near the baggage buses 🤣🤣
Legend!!
Done itr myself yesterday. It was a great event. What GoPro Kit are you currently using out of interest? Colin is also an absolute legend. Keep up the good work
Nice one!
It was an odd first time for me no doubt. Will do it again at some point hopefully with a more party atmosphere at the start line. Got home this evening and quads are still not happy with me for throwing the hammer down from the Marsden! Had to get under 1:40 somehow and made it with 5 seconds to spare in the end!
Very subdued at the start because of everything
👍👍👍👍👍
👊
I’ve done over 30 GNRs and the baggage buses all down the road worked just fine in all past runnings. The move to Exhibition Park was a total shambles. Too narrow to enter park and too narrow to get out again. People were still trying to get into their pens 20+ minutes after mass start. Experiment failed, put it back how it was for next year. Still a fantastic race though!
I’m with you
@@FordyRuns new location of baggage buses at the end was great though. Meant we could pick up our gear and sit on grass in the middle for a chat with fellow runners.
give credit were its due
Thank you
I had a blast at my first GNR! Fell off my goal pace at half way so just soaked in the atmosphere and cruised the rest of the run :)
Well played!
