If your name isn't Patrick Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, or Josh Allen, you dont deserve big money. Brock Purdy deserves a long-term deal, but anything over 35-40 million a year? Shake his hand and tell him good luck.
That's simply not how the league operates. You are the first one that wants everyone to get fired if they draft a QB that isn't turning to a future HoF player, which chances are minimal at best.

It’s funny how everyone just says not to pay anyone, but these teams can’t operate without the QBs they have. If the Dolphins and Jags didn’t pay Tua Tagovailoa and Trevor Lawrence, they’d be bottom tier teams.
@ Tua missed time and the team was ABYSMAL. We saw what the actual bottom tier looks like. There aren’t a ton of options better than Tua Tagovailoa, for example.
@@DieHardEddieEdwardsexcept Purdy can’t operate without other players. He clearly isn’t elite. Shanahan would be dumb to not move on after next season.
This is why fans view you guys as entertainment, not serious football analysts. Purdy now holds the record for most QBR of 120 in his first thirty games. You point to the last game against the Rams. First, Of the four longest passes, Purdy had three. Stafford's one was to a wide open Puka. He also had an easy first down to the tight end when no one covered him. Second, Stafford had a better line and running game. Williams had over a 100 yards compared to Guerendo with just over 40 yard if you take out that long third down where they ran it for field position. Third, neither Purdy nor Stafford had a touchdown in the game. It should be noted that Deebo dropped a pass in the chest that should have been a touchdown. Fourth, if you want to talk interceptions, Kyle called the play and Purdy had to release early due to the fact he was about to get sacked. The Niners were playing for Jennings to out leap the shorter defender, but Jennings slowed up on the play. Meanwhile, Stafford should have had at least two picks. Fifth, despite the interception, Purdy had a higher PFF rating than Stafford who only had 22 yards in the first half. Sixth, Purdy had two backups in at left tackle and left guard. Purdy reads defenses really well and is very accurate, but you want to cherry pick your facts to hate on Purdy. He went toe to toe in the Super Bowl with Mahomes and Spags acknowledged that the Chiefs had to change their defense. This season he has effectively played without Aiyuk who forces defenses to open up. The Niners are rated as one of the worst at getting separation this season without Aiyuk. Until you guys learn how to analyze football, you will never be taken seriously.
Collin berates Purdy because Nick has bullied him into it. Nick hates Purdy because any QB that is any good takes spotlight away from his almighty Mahomes. Mahomes is one of the best right now, but that doesn't mean others can't be good. Purdy walked off the field at the superbowl with a lead. The loss was a defense problem, not a Purdy problem.
@@zachherrera5961honestly I hope they pay him so Dallas can start beating them again😂 When they pay him and have to get rid of half their stars it's over for them
There's a reason he was the last player taken in his draft...when he was surrounded by the league's best talent, on both sides of the ball, and defenses hadn't gotten much tape on him yet, he looked really good. But now that Frisco's talent isn't order of magnitude better than anyone they play and defenses have a couple years of tape of him, now it gets hard to play QB in the NFL. only the top guys can carry a team and beat good teams in games that matter...Brock isn't one of them...he's just a guy playing the position.
Yes, that is an insane thought...the percentage of the cap for those B grade QBs in execution is nuts. They are great leaders, community members, and teammates, but it takes more than that to win in the NFL. Maybe each does a fantastic job with their charities to make it tolerable to pay for their subpar performances.
That is just where the market is heading, same thing happened with Jimmy G being the top 3 in qb pay and went to the middle of the pack in a year or so.
And if that happens just watch the Niners suck just like the cowboys for as long as they’re giving all the payrolls money to an unproven mediocre quarterback
Funny how it’s Brock’s fault but if he was a 1st round pick Colin would be saying he just needs time to figure it out. The 49ers as a whole are a dumpster fire. Guys walking out mid game, and wr dropping passes left and right. No running game. Brock is not the best qb but he is more then capable of winning in this league
Purdy is better overall player than DAk but he shouldn't get dak money, he whould be at 45m~ a year and everyone would be happy i think. But the purdy disrespect is crazy
there is absolutely no point in comparting Allen to Purdy. Allen physically is the best QB in the league, by a long shot. Mahomes and Lamar are not even in Allen's league, no one else is. The niners o-line is the worst w/ the exception of Trent and Puni and the practically the worst separation on the WRs. Purdy is frustrated and has no time to pass and has hit a brick wall, if he runs it more he's likely to get hurt. Allen is probably going to be the first QB to get a $75 mil contract, no one else is even close in terms of talent. He is the only superman in the league. I think Purdy will end up getting about 52-55m when it's done.
Agree with you Purdy comments. While I like Allen, how many Super Bowls has he taken his team to in his career? I think Purdy will get 3-5 years at $40 million. He wants to win a Super Bowl and knows that he can make up the difference with endorsements.
@greglyon1402 Purdys accomplishments are always ignored because he wasn't a 1st round pick. He will be fine. His agent is going to get him 50 mil. cap will continue to go up and it will be cheap in a few more yrs. I say let Trent retire and get 4 new linemen and put 40 mil towards new guys. Deebo is done and we need a few burners.
Purdy is slightly better than average so paying him that much would be ridiculous. As a Seahawks fan I hope they do it since we wouldn't have to worry about the 49ers for the duration of his contract.
@@greglyon1402 Getting to the SB means nothing if you don't win it. Allen was knocked out 3 times by the GOAT. If the Niners were in the AFC they would not have gotten past Mahomes and Reid to the Superbowl. If the Bills were in the NFC they would have gotten there.
on top of that all the years he's played and didn't get compensation for. Like say if he makes 50m next 2 years. The previous 2 years he wasn't even making anything since he wasn't a top draft pick. It would be like 4 years for 25m. What if brock ends up settling for less and he gets injured? He is screwed and 49ers screw him over while other players on that team who had extensions and didn't meet those standards....well they got paid. Because this year Brock looked like the guy to get paid out of everyone on that offense.
@ exactly he gave them 4 playoff home games and a Super Bowl appearance while making nothing why we worried about saving the owners money it’s the front offices job to protect him not his
What you mean they didnt fix it? they drafted Puni who is one of the best rookie o lineman Purdy cant throw un the rain he dont deserve to be paid more then Mahomes😅
@ains7327He didnt do all that by himself CMC carried him there so did Kittle,Aiyuk,Deebo,#1 defense in the nfl if it was Purdy SF would be in the playoffs this year the o line isnt an excuse most QB's have a worse o line
Go look at what Mahomes and Allen are making, like 14 and 15th highest. The k League is screwed up when Trevor Lawrence is making 50% more than Mahomes and Allen.
Carr 38 million Kyler Murray 46 million 40 year old injured cousins 45 million 52 year old injured Rodgers 38 million You gotta at least offer him 45-50 million
There should be room to pay QBs on a declining scale that matches their talent. Brock is a top 10-15 QB in the league. So why can't a starting QB make 30-40 million per year? We don't pay WRs and RBs this way.
I simply don't get why every team tries to pay their QB a record breaking contract after there rookie deal, especially to their mid to below average qb's (Tlaw, Tua and Daniel Jones) it's irritating because even tho I'm not a fan of those teams I feel bad because there fan bases and players have to go mid QB play and win nothing bc of the game and owners trying to prove and reward mediocre play
because the QBs want compensation for the years they've played in under a lesser contract? What is the life span of a NFL player? Maybe 2 contracts? Rarely 3.
I’m still not convinced about purdy he’s a good QB and some of throws drops by Debo didn’t help his case this Thurs also some of the play calls by Shanahan was awful
The 9ers should get Derek Carr! He’s a great deep ball thrower, excellent game manager and leader, extremely clutch. Give Carr an okay defense and a competent coach and you’ll won Super Bowl
I am really tired of hearing about hand size. Combine nfl stays show purdys hand size is larger than Burrows and the same as Mahomes. Get your facts straight
@donnyc99 that DOESN'T mean that brock is great in the rain...but it isn't the hand size. I suspect he will work on it this off season. I think he made a lot of poor choice throws trying to carry the team to victory. He hopefully will realize he can chip away at the game and doesn't have to fix it in one play.
@ Not many QBs are good when the ball is wet. I expect Purdy will learn and get better. That throw he made to Kittle last year in the rain against GB where he ran out and threw it 30 yrs for a td proves he CAN throw in the rain.
In the last game against the Rams, Mathew Stafford wasn't very good, either. He could easily have thrown for three picks in that game, and Stafford is probably the best thrower in the league. Still, it was Brock's second worst game in his career. He should have played better. He missed a wide open Ricky Pearsall, which would likely have been a TD. In that game the whole offense played sloppy. The defense played well. 1-/ i_cea
Can't compare Purdy to Trevor man look at Trevors cast and look at Purdy cast... Trent Williams have that dude a whole afternoon to throw meanwhile Jaguars oline a joke and defence getting backwards hurdle by Saquon.... 9ers carried 2 supermid qbs to SuperBowls with Shanahans superior schemes when cast is healthy MAN STOP
When has anyone been given the bag then gone out and actually shown they deserved it? In any position? The NFL has become nothing but a bunch of money grubbing divas!
49ers don’t value the OL, so their skill set and offensive scheme are critical. This season, the skilled players were injured and the league has caught up with Kyle’s scheme.
Why is he talking about small hands? Here are the hand sizes for every team’s starting quarterback, according to NFL measurements, from smallest to largest: Joe Burrow, Cincinnati Bengals: 9 Jared Goff, Detroit Lions: 9 Derek Carr, New Orleans Saints: 9 1/8 Jarrett Stidham, Denver Broncos: 9 1/8 Baker Mayfield, Tampa Bay Buccaneers: 9 1/4 Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs: 9 1/4 Brock Purdy, San Francisco 49ers: 9 1/4 Geno Smith, Seattle Seahawks: 9 1/4 Jayden Daniels, Washington Commanders: 9 3/8 Sam Darnold, Minnesota Vikings: 9 3/8 Lamar Jackson, Baltimore Ravens: 9 1/2 Kyler Murray, Arizona Cardinals: 9 1/2 Jacoby Brissett, New England Patriots: 9 3/4 Daniel Jones, New York Giants: 9 3/4 Deshaun Watson, Cleveland Browns: 9 3/4 Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles: 9 3/4 Aidan O’Connell, Las Vegas Raiders: 9 3/4 Bryce Young, Carolina Panthers: 9 3/4 Caleb Williams, Chicago Bears: 9 7/8 Kirk Cousins, Atlanta Falcons: 9 7/8 Tua Tagovailoa, Miami Dolphins: 10 C.J. @@wubranch1 Three of the four longest passes in Thursday's game came from Purdy. Stafford's long throw was to a wide open Puka that was under thrown. Not Purdy's fault Deebo dropped that pass.
You point out 3 bad weather games where he didn't perform at a top level. Didn't Brock bring team back for win against Packers in the rain and again back big against Lion's last year playoffs? It was Purdy that stopped a huge knock against Kyle that he never could came back. Look at the QB's playing same bad weather games. Aganst Ram's, Stafford (possible hall of famer) only threw for 14 more yards, no touchdowns and he had his #1 & 2 receivers, #1 running back, no drops and a better O Line. Stafford also under threw Puka similar to Purdy-Lance on the Ram's longest play but Puka had huge separation and time before DB arrived where Persol had just a half step. Also, saying Brock sucked playing in a 6 inch snowstorm that SF was unlucky to play in that is maybe a once a year event for the entire League? How many QB's could have done better? Buffalo, where Allen who is considered top QB this year had his top receivers, a better O Line and Bills overall are a much better team. Defense does play at a different level with Dre combined with Warner.
Making nothing out of something. Lame headline. Boring conversation. Brock gets paid what the market dictates because the NFL is predictable. Wait 10 years when there is 5 year 500 mil deals for QBs who have never been to the playoffs
The thing about it if you don’t have an elite quarterback, you don’t pay an average to below average market rate. That is what bad organization do, the Niners have went to the superbowl with two different quarterbacks. I believe they can get their without paying a quarterback top of the market value. This was the year for Purdy to have an above average season and he failed. The difference between Jimmy and Brock is Jimmy went 6-0 to end the season. He looked like a franchise quarterback but his disguise got figured out within 2 seasons and Brock can’t stay healthy. I’m cool with Niners drafting a quarterback and getting Mac Jones or Kyle Wilson this offseason.
💯% niners need to seriously consider drafting. josh Allen made PURDY look like an elite backup. Niners need to upgrade there game against this teams or they never have a chance for years .
@@itweety21 Josh Allen makes most QBs look like back ups. Let’s not forget the last 2 yrs of Josh Allen were him getting dragged my being an INT and fumble machine and bad decision magnet. 🤷♂️

@ Purdy overcame his mistake (INT) and his team’s inability to stop Detroits Run game in the most important game of the season. Purdy has just now played 2 full seasons over. Still with all the injuries still managed to get himself #7 QBR. Josh has much larger sample size. Purdy just getting started. We shall see what happens next.
@@donnyc99 I’m gonna break down why what you’re saying doesn’t not hold weight at all. First off making the Super Bowl is an accomplishment, I’ll acknowledge that but making doesn’t mean shit if you don’t win it. Purdy isn’t the only mediocre QB to make the Super Bowl. You know who else made the Super Bowl, Jimmy G. You losers argued he was elite and top 10. Remember Colin Kaepernick, mister clout chaser himself also made the Super Bowl. He’s as average as they come. You know who else made the Super Bowl Rex Grossman. It doesn’t matter unless you win.
John said it best. A bust like Trevor Lawrence getting $200M opens the door for an above-average non-franchse QB like Purdy, who has had more success, to get a ridiculous contract. In addition, the NFL adopting a "no defense allowed" rule system allows QBs who never would have made it 10-15 years ago to enjoy success.
The Purdy hate is real. His stats and record speak for itself. You can cherry pick stats for your hate. 4 wins in the playoffs in 2 years. You guys see all his talent get hurt and his defense go from 5th to 25th . Good way to move the goal post
Purdy can't do it without the Silverback! If they sign him, they'd better get another (more than serviceable) left tackle in the works if Trent Williams goes down again.

The weakness of cover 3 is underneath which he should know because he got to play vs the 9ers d during all of training camp and the 9ers predominantly play cover 3.
Don't pay him, if he's not willing to help the franchise out or understand having a great team around you every year in order to win SBs then that's a QB that won't lead you anywhere.

Yes he is. He's worth 70 million dollars a year. Pay the man his money, or he'll probably hold out like Trent Williams and Brandon Aiyuk. Hopefully the Niners learn their lesson and don't go through the same fiasco they went through this past off-season. Pay Purdy and avoid more drama.
@@Mr.Zen_73 Good. That's what I want to see. Again, the players don't care about a team's salary cap situation. Players never wanted a salary cap, so now teams have to live up to the consequences. You literally said “Rebuilt O-line” for Lamar as if that’s a bad thing while never giving Purdy the credit for what line he has to play behind. One guy can’t make up for all the others. LUCKILY Puni is looking pretty good and could get better. But Brendal, Banks, and McKivitz as well as Puni here and there, have gotten Brock hit almost as soon as he drops back. The timing and how he sees the field, everything he is amazing at, gets screwed because of the O line. He is so great at manipulating the pocket so he doesn’t get sacked or anything almost every play, that yall don’t see how bad his pocket is most of the time. Pay the man and invest in his line. Let Aiyuk and Jennings hang on the outsides and Pearsall and Kittle in the middle, with CMC or Guerrendo able to come out of the backfield…the Niners offense will be fine with what they will pay him. Just have to pay a little on free agency to get some quality linemen or hit on more like Puni. 🤷🏻♂️

Doesn’t seem so complicated. If he’s not worth what he thinks he is, the 49ers should turn the page. Starting quarterbacks can realistically be found in the first three rounds of the draft. Hell - Purdy was a seventh round pick.
Brock's been patient and played out his rookie contract. It'll soon be time for Purdy to start rocking "Poppa's gotta Brand New Bag" by James Brown. Because if the 49ers don't give him his bag, some other team surely will. People forget it's Brock who owns the Niners records for most passing yards in a season and highest passing rating. Time to break bread for "Mr. Irrelevant".
The 49ers need to rebuild. The players the 49ers need to part ways with for 2025 draft picks to make this happen are Nick Bosa for a 1 and a 2, Brandon Aiyuk for a 2 and a 4 , Christian McCaffery for a 1 and then parlay that first round pick for as many 3rd round picks as they can get. This could be the end result 1 OT 1 DE 2 OT 2 OG/C 2 WR 3 DT 3 DE 3 LB 3 QB 3 RB 4 LB 4 TE 4 DT 6 FB 7 WR 7 OG 7 K. True, it will take a season to get these new team players to gel and to get them NFL ready, but the following season the 49ers will be back and strong as ever and have another draft (2026) to add quality depth to an already rebuilt and very strong club. There would be no holes on this team if it follows this path. This is the draft to do it with. And the team would be blessed with tons of cap space. Oh, the team also needs to vastly improve upon its obviously poor off-season conditioning program, which I attribute to be one of the main reasons for the team's injury woes.
Think about the Script for next year 🤔. 1. 49ers pays Brock Purdy. 2. Superbowl is in Santa Clara, CA. 3. 49ers Wins 🏆 Superbowl in their home field turff
Suppose the Niners got rid of Purdy then who is the replacement? People clamored to get rid of Jimmy G and the Niners drafted Lance. They got lucky with Purdy because Lance isn't even a backup at this point but a 3rd stringer. The Niners aren't getting Josh Allen, Mahomes, or Lamar. People say you have to gut the roster but then also say the Niners are old which means the roster needs to be gutted anyway. Either way the Niners need to draft younger particularly Oline. So simply getting rid of Purdy means you are rolling the dice that you can land someone better and not another Lance.
So many qbs the Niners can get at a low price. Since Kyle is a genius he can plug in Flacco, dalton, fields, darnold and r. Wilson, and Winston. I say build an awesome defense and awesome oline and plug in qb like Steelers did and since Kyle is a genius at offense schemes. Niners can get defensive edge rush with bosa.
@PeterDahu no he didn't what we had with jimmy no one else had a team like this not Joe not Steve not kap not Garcia none none do you want to know why I know because I look back and sing they did not have that Brock is mid nothing else to say
I agree that Purdy is NOT that guy. He will be a good back-up. Hes too small, dosent have great speed, struggles in bad weather, and without a good running game, he cant carry a team.
No other team will pay him that much!! Let him bet on himself, give him a 3 year $100-120M. In 2 years if he is playing at a high level, he can get a new contract worth even more!!
It is Shanahan that is the problem here...not Brock purdy. Kyle is certainly no Bill Walsh and he needs to study the old films. (Seriously) What Kyle lacks (By comparison) is that Bill was extremely creative with his play calling. Double reverse plays and 2 or 3 other trick plays thrown into every game. He kept the other teams on their toes. The key is lots of unexpected plays used at the perfect time. Kyle is too Vanilla and has so many predictable plays that the team has their hands tied. He makes the opposing teams look like they have an awesome defense when it's really just that they can see the plays coming. GET CREATIVE like Bill did. - (I really believe he should take a lesson from Bill Walsh.) That alone gives the 49ers a much better chance to go to and WIN a Super Bowl.
No one knows what Purdy wants but I thought the QB was set and it's next man up? And it's crazy how they want him to take a team friendly deal just because they don't feel he's worth more.
I’m not sure Brock is average, but he definitely isn’t elite. $55m seems like a lot of money. That’s the league’s fault, tho. Good luck to SF on this decision, because it could hamstring them for years.
This is a dumb take. Have you watched any Niners games? Then you'd know the issue with the Niners is not Purdy, it's his terrible, horrible O-line. Every single game Purdy was running for his life. If Jimmy G was still QB he would have been dead 10 times over. If crap bag Prescott is worth that much then Purdy is worth more.
I'm a huge Purdy fan, but you got to be real. Purdy has regressed significantly this year. If you watched the last game against the Rams, Brock had multiple chances for TD passes but he underthrew the ball every single time. Purdy is an anticipation QB. Asking him to perform outside of that is hit or miss.
@@soju1shotx I'm not saying he hasn't regressed I'm just of the opinion the cause is primarily down to the O-line being abysmal in pass projection AND his main receivers, Aikyuk and Samuels, being non factors. I mean, that dropped pass by Samuels was his season in a nutshell. I know there's a stat out there that takes the averages of the amount of time each QB has to throw, I'd love to know where Purdy is on that list.
@RocksOff72 that's all true, but you're basically making Colin's point. Colin and most of the media has been saying Purdy is being carried by the team. Now that the team is underperforming and the o-line sucks, Purdy is regressing big time. Top paid QBs make plays despite having a weak team. Top paid QBs should carry teams. Purdy hasn't been able to do that at all this year. If we have to rely on o-line, cmc, kittle, deebo, and aiyuk, then why pay Purdy top QB money?
These guys continually say Allen, Burrow, Jackson, can all carry their teams by themselves with subpar weapons. Carry them where? None have won a SB, only Burrow went to a SB and he lost. Brock has as much regular season success as them and more playoff success in a much shorter time. OK Brock isn't a hall of fame player right now, it's his 2nd full year as a starter! The team was bad all year it doesn't all fall on his shoulders. If the niners get healthy and make a run next year the story will be that it was everyone except Brock. He can't win.

Second, Stafford had a better line and running game. Mahomes is one of the best right now, but that doesn't mean others can't be good. Purdy walked off the field at the superbowl with a lead. The loss was a defense problem, not a Purdy problem.
as a cowboys fan i’d be giddy if the 49ers paid him $55m+ he’s not a game changer, he’s a game manager

You're making the arguments of a woman
There's a reason he was the last player taken in his draft...when he was surrounded by the league's best talent, on both sides of the ball, and defenses hadn't gotten much tape on him yet, he looked really good. But now that Frisco's talent isn't order of magnitude better than anyone they play and defenses have a couple years of tape of him, now it gets hard to play QB in the NFL. only the top guys can carry a team and beat good teams in games that matter...Brock isn't one of them...he's just a guy playing the position.
Brock and Dak could be the two highest paid QB’s next year!!! Wow!!! The market is crazy!!!!
@@TXMadeTXMade Brock way better than Dak.
They were both mvp finalists last year.
Weak arm, short, can't move.
If he’s making peanuts and they didn’t fix the oline why take a paycut when they didn’t fix it when you weren’t making anything
on top of that all the years he's played and didn't get compensation for. @donnyc99 purdy is smart. He wants to excel. He will continue to practice and improve

True, it will take a season to get these new team players to gel and to get them NFL ready, but the following season the 49ers will be back and strong as ever and have another draft (2026) to add quality depth to an already rebuilt and very strong club. There would be no holes on this team if it follows this path. This is the draft to do it with. And the team would be blessed with tons of cap space. I agree that Purdy is NOT that guy. He will be a good back-up. Hes too small, dosent have great speed, struggles in bad weather, and without a good running game, he cant carry a team.
As a Ram's fan please pay him $55 Mill a year 😂😂
Purdy could win 4 super bowls in a row, and Colin would STILL call him average at best.
💯
Purdy is slightly better than average with a low ceiling. If the 49ers give him a big contract they'll be mediocre for the duration of his contract.
He’s won zero 😂
Well, he didn't win the SB
But Brock didn't win anything. Brock is ok.
If this was wrong he would have said something about it we didn't know Williams wanted to pay raise until we found out online so that was true
Retire Colin. You’ve been terrible at this for yrs
Bang bang miner gang😂😂😂😂
@ mined 5 titles already kid
🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆⛏️👌🤣
@@nando1956rf You got cooked 😂
CAN COLIN ALSO NOT GET PAYED 😂
Vikings won't let Sam Darnold go for $40 million.
I’m not sure Brock is average, but he definitely isn’t elite. $55m seems like a lot of money. That’s the league’s fault, tho. Good luck to SF on this decision, because it could hamstring them for years.
If the niners defense held up in overtime for just ONE drive, Purdy beats Mahomes in the Super Bowl.
They have, clearly you haven’t. You dummies always say that, but clearly you guys don’t know what you’re looking at.
@ my dude, stop projecting. It's not the flex you think it is.
