      However, when you say most expensive defence, a lot of that money is tied up in 4 or 5 players right.. Heyward, Watt, Minkah, Highsmith, and maybe Queen. They have one starting CB, an OK linebacker group, and an old Dline. Now, that is on Tomlin and the GM not drafting/trading for the right players. Just because something is expensive, doesn't make it good 🤣

    His playoff statistics are the worst from any head coach that “ever” won a Super Bowl in NFL history. He’s lost 8 straight playoff games and hasn’t had a win since 2016. • @jamescalder90
    @jamescalder90 18 часов назад +14

    John Harbaugh hasn't been to a superbowl in twelve years...6 of those with Lamar (possible MV3). They finished first or second in their division 13 times (18 seasons) for one superbowl appearance. Two losing seasons over that span. Now if the Ravens fail to make the Superbowl given their talent should they move on from him? Or because they are considered contenders the lack of success is ok?
    Since 2017...Steelers have won their division twice with division rivals totalling 199 wins in that span. Chiefs have won theirs 8 in a row with division rivals totalling 174 wins. The Bills have won it 5 times with their division rivals totalling 175 wins. The Ravens have won the division 4 times since 2017 with their rivals totalling 190 wins. So the Steelers have had the same Superbowl success as the Bills and Ravens with the AFC north having the most wins over that span. (Just looking at AFC).
    Fans are a product of a team's success. With winning comes greater expectations and making playoffs simply doesn't satisfy that, it's ring or nothing. Each year 18 teams don't get to that next stage...and then a further 12 don't get the final shot. Overall 31 teams don't win a Superbowl. Now if you are the Bills or Ravens or Lions or Eagles this year and you don't reach the Superbowl will it be a wasted season- that's for each fan to decide. Especially if getting over the hump is what these teams and their fans expect.

Justin Fields was average, and Russel Wilson was not prime Russ, but he is good enough to win a playoff game. How about that expensive defense that Tomlin oversees, which has given up an average of 38 points per game in their last 6 playoff games? That has at least as much to do with the Steelers playoff futility, as a lack of a true franchise QB.

    The Ravens began this season with three out of five new starting offensive linemen, including Roger Rosengarten starting as a rookie right tackle.
    This group experienced the passing of their offensive line coach, Joe D'Alessandris, in August.
    22 days before the first game of the regular season, the Ravens brought in George Warhop - 27 years as an NFL offensive linemen coach - to coach the line.
    The results?
    The number 1 rushing attack in the NFL.
    The quarterback with the second highest QBR in the NFL.
    The fourth best win block percentage in the NFL, at 68%.
    (Buffalo is 69% and Philly is 70%; Denver was 76%).
    The Ravens invest high-value draft picks in their O line. Two out of five starters are first round picks, and Rosengarten was a second round pick.
    That’s what is necessary to maintain a high standard of offensive linemen play: get great coaches, and invest the needed draft picks to assure competitiveness.
    The best quarterback and running back can’t help you if they are buried under your opponent’s defense.

    I think its beneficial for both parties. Its great for Tomlin because he will have a chance to show that he is a good coach who is consistent, gritty and can win, if given the right opportunity. But thats only if he goes somewhere where their is a light at the end of the tunnel. As for the Steelers, they have a chance and opportunity for quite a few coaches who may provide the spark they need offensively. But the organization needs to allow them to focus on the offensive needs for once. I think in the end, they keep him again unless Tomlin wants out himself.

      Exactly. This is not a zero sum game. Tomlin isn't washed. He's outdated in some respects, but he isn't washed. The Steelers also NEED a culture reset. Bringing in a coach from whatever background, but they have to be open to new ideas. This is what happens when Tomlin shows no interest in any kind of coaching tree: You don't bring in new ideas, and everything just becomes dangerously incestuous. I would say that the lack of a Super Bowl appearance over the past 15 years doesn't matter, but these are the Pittsburgh Steelers we're talking about. Do you think the fanbase is truly satisfied with just one title over a 17 year span? No, they're not. A new era has to begin sooner or later, for both sides.

    • @metalfan1100
      @metalfan1100 16 часов назад

      @ Fans on teams like Pittsburgh will always be crazy about winning/not winning titles. Which shouldnt be the focus. The focus should be to get back to winning a damn playoff game and being competitive. When you rely so much on your defense to win, that defense begins to crumble usually late in the season, and thats what has happened to them time and time again. You gotta have an IT factor on your team to be competitive in the post season whether it be a QB, great RB or atleast a rock solid Oline to protect and create. Its time for change so that Pit can have a chance again. Lets be honest, the league isnt the same with Pit stinking it up every year in the post. An I am a Lions fan.

I know a lot of people love Ben Johnson, but he hasn't been a head coach yet, and Mike McCarthy would just be swapping a similar coach with the same issues. Despite missing on Pickett in 2022, the Steelers under Tomlin are the only NFL team to exceed its regular-season Vegas win total in each of the past five seasons, per Pro Football Reference. This explains how Pittsburgh’s regular-season winning percentage over the past eight seasons (.614) approximates the win rate (.644) during those first 10.The postseason results prove it’s a mirage.This paradox is a testament to Tomlin and the frustration of his tenure. It’s how a case can be made that Tomlin raises the Steelers’ floor while lowering their ceiling.“They are successful because they don’t change, and they can’t win a playoff game because they don’t change,” an opposing coach said.

When they had a chance to trade their Kenney Pickett pick in 2022 to get CJ Stroud or Bryce Young in 2023 they failed to do so!!! Is that Tomlins FAULT??? Y'all are sick and obsessed with Tomlin but are church mouse quiet about Front Office and Ownership sucking at upgrading their roster.
