Thank you Jim for the excellent video. I have a 2020 Explorer with the same Sync 3.4.22251 version, and I agree, what a load of crap. Updated with your easy to follow video with my MacAir and USB. Had to rewind several times, a little slow on the technology and Mac, but it works again! Hopefully the intermittent blank screen and missing Nav are a thing of the past. Thanks again for making it easy for old guys to understand. Now to update my maps!
Hi! I have been enjoying to watch your video! I got question, I do have the same model and year raptor which 2019. Since I updated software, i just noticed that my raptor terrain mode has changed to only “Normal, Slippery, and Tow/haul” instead of there were more than 3 modes before. For instance sports, baja, normal, tow, and etc.. Im wondering if you have the same experience. If you know know how to fix it, plz share with me kindly. Thank you 🙏🏻
good day please help me could you send me the file the one that was downloaded immediately Sync Update avelable this will help me to stop my sync just not the cards
Thanks for the info! Worked like a champ. One question - how does one get updated navigation maps once the update is done? Given the update I performed, the version of Sync Ford has linked to my vin is not 3.4 - so an navigation update fails with the error stating the Sync software does not support(match) the software downloaded for my vin. Any ideas? Thanks again
I have a ford explorer 2020 xlt and today I updated to version 3.4.23188. The update completed very well but the system did not create the Log or .Xml file to upload it to the Ford platform. What I can do?
Great video thanks. I have 2021 Kuga Vignale and the radio was not holding onto the last station listening too, and at every restart I got the SUSY station by default. Also, during a Bluetooth call the radio just started playing, and I couldn’t hear the other person, although they could hear me and the radio playing!!! Strange… I have completed the update to SYNC 3, Software Version: 3.4 Build 23188_ PRODUCT a few days ago and so far all good
I’m using 2016 explorer sync2, but I replaced it with sync3 a while ago. The version is 3.4, but the build is 19200. The latest version is 23188, is it possible to update? Is there a way if it’s possible? The region is Korea.
I followed all the steps, formatted my usb to exfat, downloaded the file and opened it with unarchiver, ran the car for two hours with the usb in and absolutely nothing it just says “updating system software” and stays like that no progress whatsoever
I'm trying on my 2016 set the truck to not outo off. I'm going to let it run. In really hoping I can get Google maps to work on this.@@natashagomez442
I’m really unsure, Jim how up to date these maps really are as it keeps telling me that my software is up to date when my maps are still at F7 very confusing.
I’m having the same issues you described. My vehicle says it’s up to date but shows 22251 as current version. Unlike yours mine doesnt begin downloading new version shortly after , even when connected to WiFi? Any recommendations?
Kayla, if you're still having trouble, please follow Jim's instructions again. When you're ready to download the file, right-click and choose "Download file as." Save it directly to the USB drive. I was experiencing the same issues, and this method worked perfectly for me.
I have the 3.4 sync 3 in my 2020 Ford expeditions but it still doesnt work. No bluetooth connection. Is says it is but does not allow me to may calls or it cuts off. Any suggestions?
Has it ever worked? If you go to your sync and go to general and about you should find the full sync version your on. If you can shoot that over to me, thanks.
It works and then will completely disconnect while I'm on the phone. It will show that my phone is connected but then when I go to use the phone or listen to Spotify over the system it says it isn't connected. My version is 3.4
I bought an f 150 with sync3. I delete out the former owners phone info and put mine in. It says it saves it, but when i turn the truck off and go to start it later, my phone is gone and old owners is back. Help!
@@f1fiftyjimmy now the sync turns on when you start the truck sometimes not all the time. Why is it so glitchy? How must will the computer module cost to replace?
It worked just fine. Thank you for posting the step by step of the sync update. I have a bronco 2023 and the sync was driving me crazy.
best guide ive found for this process. Thanks
Thanks! Glad to hear!

I have heard from others that if you don't get it to push via wifi then you have to do it via usb.
Ok will give it a try! Any specific usb type?
hey when I download that file it comes up as a whole folder with several zippable files inside I'm unsure what to do at this point 2016 focus st

I@@f1fiftyjimmyit says sync 3.0. I'm trying to update but when I put the flash drive in nothing happens.
Just did this and everything works except my Sirius doesn’t work at all….any ideas?
Man not sure on that. Only things I would try is having the Sirius signal resent or possibly doing a master reset in the sync settings.
Thanks for the quick reply. Yesterday I had them resend the signal and waited a couple hours and it came back!
