I voted for Donald J. Trump three times. And so I trusted him throughout his foreign policy. Now, I've learned from this video that the MAGA approach to U.S. policy is by way of Jacksonian. Refer to Andrew Jackson. Very nice and lots of common sense. Thank you, Mr. Victor Hanson.
No, Dr. Hanson, thank you. I always feel like I’ve grown a few more brain cells after I listen to you break down these difficult issues we face in these times. I pray you are out of fire storm.
When we were all sweating it out during the election. Victor, was the only person I could listen to that put me at ease. When he said, Trump would win I believed him! He’s been such a wealth of knowledge and his delivery is always reassuring. He would be such a great asset to the administration! Would LOVE to see this happen!!!
@@ronmetcalf2889 Have you ever heard him criticize Republicans or Trump? He spins everything to make it sound like they're well organized, always know what they're doing, etc.
Terry - Trump‘s opponents have supported the idea of terminating the lives of human beings in the womb, even up to their date of birth. They have supported the mutilation of children. It’s fine with them if men in dresses go into my public restrooms. Those kinds of things didn’t make America great.
I recall feeling betrayed when GW Bush decided to invade Iraq. He used the pretext of WMD but my read was that he truly wanted to be a “wartime president” and he wanted to finish his daddy’s war. In my naïveté I expected congress to rein him in. Wrong. Then came the Patriot Act. Since then the neocons have ruled the roost and military misadventures have proliferated. Maybe, just maybe, we can now stop playing world cop.

Love ya VDH! In a way the US public treat Trump much like the British did with Churchill where he was the right man for England in WWII and immediately replaced after the war ended only to be reelected after the British people saw how bad their misrepresenting liberal party was. Not being exact however there is a lot of similarity between the brilliance of Churchill and Trump both with two terms and one in between. I happen to believe Churchill was the sole reason the British survived until the US entered WWII as well as being the greatest leader of our time. Trump has a chance to do the same thing. Let's Pray he does and starts 16 years of conservative leadership after his term. MAY GOD BLESS ALL AMERICANS!
Oh Churchill definitely has some parallels. He was also gruff and uncouth but he did get results. I agree Churchill was the main reason the UK hung on as well as did so well in the war. Also, wild tidbit a lot of folks don't know: At the close of WW2 Churchill drew up plans for the allies turn on Russia and stamp them out before they got more powerful. People in the know were really horrified. Flash forward a few decades and people started to think he was right 😂
Mr. Hanson, Thank you for your Clarity on how President Trump will proceed with his next/new Administration - I so look forward to living the Dream ~Peace~
Sounds a lot like Teddy Roosevelts "speak softly and carry a big stick..." with an occasional use every now and then as necessary better known as "shock and awe."
Trump speaks out of both sides of his mouth as Mr. Hanson concurs. Its his most endearing quality and will certainly be a nuisance for allies and adversaries alike.
It was Hanson's description of Trump's foreign policy that was the final key I needed to break away from the Dem plantation and got vote for Trump in 2024
Good discussion. I also think it boils down to personality and the art of war (or politics and national security in this case). The goal should be to confuse your adversaries and allies alike. Being predictable works in dealing with significant others, but not in politics. Keep them guessing... reassure then threaten, with your real motives lying somewhere in between. Trump is much better suited to dealing with Russia and China than Biden.
DEI should be scrapped. The best candidate should always be hired in every situation. There just isn't any good excuse to not hire the best applicant at all times.
Question for VDH: the latest threats against allies and friends alike have me question Trumps geopolitical savvy. Is it America's Thasos moment where the greed of the leading country forces smaller allies to leave the alliance to protect their own interests.
Mr. Hanson please tell President Trump to quit talking. He is tired and has started to talk nonsense. He talked before about no wars and now he is thinking to use .military intervention in the Canal of Panama, Greenland. To change the name of the Gulf of Mexico! My goodness! What for? He has insulted México. We don't need that! We need friends!
lol. Yes, he is, to allies living up to the name. To many, “friend” means letting an ally rip off the US. Wrong. Watch the clip again. So called allies playing dead beat on holding up their end, those are in danger of finding the US as an enemy. Trump destroying ISIS reduced the waves of Syrian area immigrants moving into EU, best favor to allies in generations.
And they are not really ours. They place trade agreements over defense alliances. They also show what happens when people are taught to be the victim. Just on a national scale.
You can be confident that China, Russia, and Ukraine (among others) listen to Dr. Hanson. Dr. Hanson is all the things Henry Kissinger should have been, for America. Sorry, it’s the truth.
Trump needs Hanson as an advisor.
Victor probably doesn't have enough character defects to be taken seriously.
They are both two men who like to service Putin, right?
God, I hope not. Qualifications for a trump post are unique, indeed.
