I'm amazed how close up you can get to the board and still not find any flaws between the main piece of wood and the inlays. It really is incredible work.
Thank you so much! I do my best!!!
I enjoy seeing your work. Def an inspirational. Thank you and have a Merry Christmas.
Thank you! You too!
Gorgeous like always!!
Ty for the close up. For me, I always try to have less gaps. But if you can do it, it must be acceptable. Assume filled in with glue so no area for juices to go. Beautiful.
Both looked awesome! 👏👏👏😍🤯
Thank you!!!
Good call on the juice groove, every one of my store bought boards have overflown on a Texas steak night.
Very nice! Very inspiring! I am currently saving for a CNC machine and boards like this make me suer excited to get into this. Great video!
I appreciate that, thank you!
Beautiful
Great ideas
Thank you! 😊
fantastic work / i'm working on getting to this level of cnc inlay...
Very nice!
I'm always impressed with how clean your inlays are. I'm assuming you use a 6+ ton press for your glue ups can you share your press setup with us?
love ya work
Thanks!
Very love your projects. I work carpentry but not with Cnc, just small or big tables with oak, walnut,
Im interested for this type of woodworking 🙌
Do you have some video were you tallking about type of cnc mashine, or what brend of type you preferred,
What you suggested me like beginer that i can start with this board. Power, brand, material.
Big greatings
Stepcraft seems to have the best value in prosumer cnc routers if you compare quality to cost
Красавчик! Все копировать буду ))
Nick, can you show your clamping press on video. I know you've talked about it and even showed some pics but it be cool to see it the videos imo. Great video as always.
Good morning 🌅, Very impressed, Well worth the time and effort, your client should be very pleased with chopping boards, a question if I may, what sort of oil do you use?,
Food safe mineral oil.
Thank you! I use pure mineral oil for the video.
hello there, superb board very cute, what is the tool you uses for the juice groove?
Anouther great video!!!! Keep up the great work,,, the spatula would have looked good in wenge,,,, do you do any boards that are not end grain??? again looks great
Thank you! Yes, I’ve done some projects with face-grain inlay. I’ll share them here later, but it was a wall sign, not a cutting board.
Once again a beautiful board. How often do you replace your bits?
Thank you! I would say I change the V-bit after milling 20 complex boards
I want to do more wood inlays, but struggle with ideas on what to do for the inlay. How do you come up with the designs for your boards?
I usually draw inspiration from themes that resonate with me or the customer, such as nature, animals, or meaningful symbols. Recently, I've been exploring vintage art and books for ideas, transforming them into high-contrast, vector-style designs perfect for inlay work. If you're unsure where to start, begin with simple shapes or designs you like and gradually try more complex ones. Sketching or using design software can help refine your ideas before working with the wood. broinwood.com/collections/cnc-files?page=1
Hi Nick, Great work as always, Does it get any easier with experience, Or do you still have difficult moments when making the boards? Hey, If you don't mind, Would you please answer a few things for me? What roughing bit do you use, and do you use it before the finishing tapered ball nose or after? Thank you and have a great Christmas and 2025 New Year. Regards, Michael
Thank you! Yes, it definitely gets easier with experience, but sometimes I spend a lot of time thinking about the best order to make the inlay or how to split the design correctly.
I use an Amana 46473 and a 1/8" end mill for the inlay. The bit order doesn’t matter for end-grain inlay. Happy holidays!
@@Broinwood Hi Nick, Thank you for your reply, and Happy Holidays to you. Do you know of other options for CNC bits that are cheaper, but still have very good quality as my budget doesn't quite stretch to Amana bits? If I were in your league of making awesome inlays, I would invest in Amana bits, but for now, I need to watch the budget, but I still want quality in the bits and the end result in any project. Keep up the awesome work. Regards, Michael
where did you buy those green clamps?
I've been following in your footsteps. I'm miles behind you in skill and quality, but I am learning. What do you think about Tung oil (100%, no additives)? I've been using it for most of my recent projects, but the community seems split on using that as a finish.
Honestly, I have never used it for my boards-just mineral oil and beeswax-but I definitely need to read more about it because I’ve heard a couple of times that people use it.
Looks Awesome! What are the size of the slabs (width and thickness) used during the glue up to make the board (and is it the same for the inlay). Great work though!
Thank you! The strip size is about 2x1", and I usually use the same strip size for the inlay blanks.
Are the male inlay endurance all so
I mean end grain all so
yes
@@Broinwood thank you
hello, I also visited your website, I am interested in buying some files but had some questions, do you have a email that can ask questions? I have Vectric V12 are the files compatible and will open fine on my version?
Incredible work! Teach me your ways🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Thank you! A comprehensive tutorial will be available soon.
