Just wanted to say thank you for taking the time and making the effort to share your experience with this product. I did successfully install them (the first time) on my 2019 AT, but not without the challenges you spoke of. Your video was incredibly helpful.

Thank you for taking the time and making the effort to make this helpful video.
I successfully installed the Givi crash bars because of your video. As you said, the installation instructions weren’t very clear or helpful.
Thank you so very much for paving the way.
Question: Do you still own the Africa Twin?

Thanks, glad it helped. I sold the AT about a year ago now, good bike but my needs changed, now got a VFR1200FD instead 😀

Great tips and I had the same issues you did. Come on Givi you need to make these better. They are on and okey but wish i had bought from Honda now. Pain in the but to put on.

Thanks, and agree with you 100% about the quality, I’ve had issues with their pannier fixing as well and will always choose a different manufacturer if I can. Worse buy from Givi so far has been the aero screen for my AT, only screen I’ve found that made the airflow worse! 😂😂

good video! Do I have to remove the exhaust if I am only installing the lower crash bars?

As far as I remember you don’t, but if you go on the givi website they normally have the fitting instructions available so you should be able to see there.

@@whojamaflip1 Just finished the lower guards...the lower guards are what require the exhaust to come off, not the top. some parts are definitely annoying, but at least everything went together just fine...the hardest part is getting that damn exhaust back on by myself, it is so cumbersome.

Definitely a pain in the backside, glad you are all sorted though.

I am not worried about having to remove the exhaust once...but the big question is, can I remove the fairings without having to remove the exhaust and bars? mostly thinking about how difficult it may be in the future to change air filters.

I honestly don’t know, I had the bike to about 13,000 miles and though the dealer never complained about the bars getting in the way, I don’t think a air filter change would have been due until 16,000 miles.
