Would I like to see a nuke go off in 4k? Yes, absolutely. Do I want to see it used in a war and not in a above ground test like in the Cold War?absolutely not.

On the languages topic. Ukrainian is a language very different from Russian. Most of the Ukrainians can speak both, but Russians don’t speak Ukrainian. Ukrainian is most similar to Belorussian language and to Polish. The reason why Ukrainians can speak Russian is because we were part of Soviet Union and Russian was official language used and it was forced. As a result many people who grew up in Soviet Union speak Russian. I was born in already independent Ukraine so I speak Ukrainian, but we still had some TV programs and movies in Russian with Ukrainian subtitles, so that’s probably how I learned it
I was born and lived in Odessa until I was 9, moved to us in 1995, we had Ukrainian language classes in school but I can only fluently speak Russian today, and I would claim to be more conversant in Spanish and German than Ukrainian. Depends where you're from. everyone in Odessa spoke Russian when i lived there, I thought Ukrainian speakers were a village thing, but in Kiev, most people seemed to speak Ukrainian back then too.
I think Kyle has a point about the nukes. There’s is an interactive map that shows all the bike tests the USA and USSR did throughout the Cold War and it’s absolutely insane the amount of nukes that have been detonated on our own soil
As long as they don't vaporize shit that could turn into fallout it shouldn't be that bad. Vaporizing a city would create a tremendous amount of fallout from even 1 nuke. To my understanding atleast.
@@Ryan-em1sv nah, they're actually smaller now since militaries realized how big ass nukes are barely usable for anything aside from creating an apocalypse. Still bigger than the WW2 ones though.
@@Ryan-em1sv I said they're still bigger than WW2 but since the cold war they've only shrunk in size. For example the b53 which was retired is like 9 times the size of the b83 which is our largest nuke now.
Some tactical nukes can be small enough to fit in a briefcase with a blast radius close to a JDAM and even smaller. Not all are used to vaporize large cities like have been in the past or like we imagine... I would'nt put it past a nation to have used them already without the general public of the globe knowing.
I highly, highly doubt that happened. Guy A: Hey, guys! A nuke just exploded over in blah blah city because a wrench fell on it Guys: what? How do you know? Guy A: I was there. I saw it. Guys: ....... 👁 👄 👁 OK.
Everyone nukes the moon, moon gets pissed off and comes halfway to earth, we have the moon from subnautica and global tsunamis. I don't think that's a good idea. But then again I'm pretty darn sure that wouldn't happen, either or.
I think people are really blowing the whole “nuke” thing out of proportion in my opinion. If Russia uses tactical nuclear warheads in Ukraine that doesn’t mean it’s a world ender, these weapons have been engineered to be used more strategically, you just have to remember this isn’t the 80s and these weapons have been engineered a lot more closely.
But under what sense would it be justifiable and what precedent would that set? If they use it and get away with it then Russia would think they can just invade anyone they want and just resort to nukes as soon as they start losing. Don't try to bring up the US using nukes because the ones dropped on Japan are the first and only ones used. After that the US at least had the common sense to realize they should never be used again. USSR only got their first nukes in 1949 so USA had a 4 year window where they could have freely destroyed them if they wanted to, but didn't.
imagine thinking that the reason they are doing so well with their artillary is because the Russians are leaving it and not the massive amount of gear being dumped in for the Ukranians.
6:48 Hah! I grew up in Concord, CA (80s and 90s). Look up the Concord Naval Weapons Station some time. There wasn't just one Russian nuke with my name on it, there were several.
i think Putin would go as far to nuke Ukraine, but then there is the question, are the russians who operate those willing to do the job but if they are, Kiev would be one of his targets and the leadership, then what would be the response of the western countries if we would have a defense system that could destroy intercontinental rockets with nuclear materials on board then we should definitely try to defend Ukraine, because we don't have to interfere if there wasn't anything hit by nukes and we can still point our fingers at putin without really wanting to attack him
The problem isn't that one goes off, it is that once one goes off another goes off then another and another... and on it goes until life can no longer be harbored on the surface.
