On May 6, 2021, a deputy from the FCSO was conducting a routine patrol in Alpharetta, Georgia when he noticed a vehicle making an improper left turn. In response, the deputy activated his sirens and initiated a traffic stop. The deputy observed that both the driver and the male passenger inside the vehicle appeared visibly nervous.

Right!!! I’m glad I’m not the only one who noticed that lol. Cop said “breathing changes” 🤔😂 like yea? The dogs breathing “changes” when he’s sniffing, he stops panting and starts sniffing through his nose. And he has to sniff to find drugs, so just because he’s sniffing doesn’t mean he’s found drugs!! 😂 and the cop keeps having to tell the dog to sniff and jump up, so how does that mean the dog smelled drugs!?!? I don’t think I’ve ever seen a video where cops used a dog and the dog didn’t “hint to drugs” 🙄 plus there’s always different ways the dog “hints at drugs” shouldn’t there be a set standard? ie: if the dog does X/Y/Z and WITHOUT the cop having to tell the dog to do it 🥴 I can understand the cop walking with the dog, tapping the car (at his arm level though, not lower where the dog is) and saying “go ahead, smell the car” or whatever. Because the dog is supposed to be trained to smell drugs on his own right?? But to have to force the dog to smell certain places or jump up and claim the dog is “hinting at drugs” is ridiculous.

Dog and handler appear to me to be a new team together. Normally, the handler would give a command word once or twice, and the dog either leads straight away to the scent, or follows the handlers hand direction for the entire walk-around. I saw 1 (or possibly 2) times the dog did hit. The second time around the car, the dog hit (sat down) at the drivers door, and the possible second time, was between passenger front and rear doors where his nose got stuck for a minute, but he didn't hit, or sit.
But I fully agree with you, they need A LOT MORE training together if they want to make a good team.

If you are pulled over for a traffic stop, and the cops are conducting an investigation due to the traffic stop, passenger and driver do have to provide information of who they are. If not, they can get arrested for obstruction of an investigation. No you don't have to engage in small talk with an officer, but the moment they pull you over, you are detained due to a traffic violation, which you are required, by law to identify yourself and they can question as to why that traffic violation occurred.

Not quite accurate; you are obligated to provide ID if you’re suspected of committing, or about to commit a crime, and there must be articulable & reasonable suspicion. Citizens have a right to privacy, otherwise…amendment rights exist for a purpose. LEOs are also legally allowed to lie. Routine traffic stops are civil, not criminal. How does not producing passenger ID on a speeding ticket, or wrong turn, obstruct an investigation? It’s advisable to ask if it’s a lawful order, surrender ID if under threat of arrest and argue the violation in court.

Just hitting them nonstop consistently with questions. The more detail you try to add to whatever statement you have made just makes it easier to catch you in a lie. If you must talk then keep it short and simple or just don’t talk. They started off chatting like they were buddies. At least that’s one less dangerous person out there selling drugs and whatever else. Even if only temporarily.

Except in most states, even if you get convicted of a 1st offense DWI, you only lose your license for 90 days, and can get a conditional license (home to work and back.) Refusal of FSTs generally costs you your license for a year. Plus some states have "implied consent" laws, which means when you get your license, you agree to submit to breathalyzer and blood tests. Refuse, and you get arrested. So while you CAN refuse the tests, it's generally WAY worse than taking them.

There have been SO many cases where the dogs are trained to alert on command, and not actually sniff out drugs. It's an excuse to do an illegal search of the vehicle. One guy who used to work for the DEA and trained drug dogs has since quit, will NOT train drug dogs (because they just get retrained to alert on command) and is now a crusader against corrupt cops.
Same way that if you refuse a vehicle search, that's "suspicious" and they say that's probable cause to search. The SCOTUS shut that one down hard. Also they can't extend a traffic stop to give them time to bring a dog in per the SCOTUS.

Cops can read body language and trust their gut instincts which are develeoped from being right time and time again.
Watched a video where one guy would have gone free if they did a k9 search. He had $360k worth of smuggled cigarrette cartons. The dogs don't alert on tobacco, but he consented to a search because he thought he hid stuff well in moving items and not consenting looks bad.
