@@ShaneHuang88 The interesting thing is that in New Zealand, TAB NZ (the only New Zealand owned bookmaker) doesn’t gub anyone as a result of their consumer protection laws. I have a bowling alley so the prospect of never getting gubbed is very tempting for me.

Group of banned people should just class action sue them in like Europe or something where consumers are protected.
Consumers aren’t protected in Europe, here you just get limited and can bet like €3 on a line

So happy to see an inquiry into the conduct of the bookies in Australia. The last 5 years has given them too much freedom to expand their market an exploit vulnerable people.
Simply put, bookies can calculate every single match to give them a % profit regardless of the outcome. Its a very basic business model.
But unfortunately the reality is that they are squeezing every last drop of profit at the expense of those most vulnerable to addiction.
I've seen both sides of the story... I've been blocked from Sportsbet for winning but I also have direct family members that have been through gambling addiction and lost over 100k.
Something that gets talked a lot about on this channel being blocked for winning and the measures betting companies take to find and block winning accounts.. Well did you know they have the equivalent measures to find addicts and keep them on the platform? Its disgusting and is ruining lives. Things like delaying withdrawals over WEEKS to enable an addict to cycle any winnings through the system.. then flooding them with promotions if they finally do withdraw.
Really predatory business practices that have been enabled by previous governments. Every second advertisement during a sports game is a betting ad... Buy an NRL jersey for your kid of his favourite team and it has "Sportbet" or "LadBrokes" plastered all over it. It wasnt like this 10 years ago.. regulations have slipped and vulnerable people are being exploited
Brilliant video! I've been banned from every major bookie & it's due to the closing line. So essentially if you place good legit bets (without inside knowledge) & the closing line is 20% off then they ban... I say the bookies need to set their lines correctly & not penalize the customers.
How much money have you made. I play roulette. And have won over 15k on one site and not been stopped. Don't accept any bonuses or anything. I just use my own money and only play roulette.

Distorting the market translated means we don't make our own odds and are unwilling to move the line to balance out the action when a heavy bet hits one side.
This is well known :) ive been working with betting as my job for 8 years now, its a jungle to swap from accounts to accounts, making deals with others to bet thru their account and other stuff in order to make a living. i understand that most people focus on all the people that suffer from addiction etc, and it surely deserves way more focus then the small % of us that makes a living from betting, but i hope we get to a point were it gets impossible for bookies to limit people down to under 1$ etc. and atleast make it a number that is stil worth your time to bet, 50-100$ or so.

great vid. what's to stop you teaming up with someone? person A bets one side. person B bets the other. even better would be to rotate between a bunch of people so they don't know/can't prove a connection between the team . MIT did the same thing with blackjack teams and were successful over many years until facial recognition identified a few people when they slipped up.

@@RayIzuu Saw no one replied to you. MIT the school. A group of MIT students had a blackjack team where they trained people to count cards and win a bunch of money. They worked in teams and they made quite the fortune. The movie 21 is based off the story of this team, though the movie isn't completely accurate. Mike Aponte is one of the former members of this team and has talked about card counting publicly.

Eventually governments will clampdown on this abuse by betting companies,it will take time as it trickles country by country but my experience is that once there is noise , changes will happen eventually
Is there a clause in their terms and conditions about this? I think they had the final say if they want to limit your account or what, esp if you are winning

Ive heard another bookmaker state publicly that it does no good to their business model if they retain consistent winners on their books!

"if the model is predicting risk of harm" bastard said...so generally you must play in normal risk model that is about more than 90% lose rate,other wise you will be banned.

ahh the spain, I wish it would be like thay speak. Thay limit your bet365 very fast now. Last year you could have 3 weak to play without limits. No you go on court and thay reopen your bet365, but than thay close it again

They can't be allowed to have their cake and eat it too. If they are allowed to exploit people with gambling addictions, then sharps should be freely allowed to exploit them as well.
See sports books could easily get rid of this issue if they worked together on odds and lines but they won’t cause then they lose some of what makes them different. And if we are being honest it’s kinda messed up to punish the customer who notices it.
Matchbook is notorious for this.

As someone who has tried Betting Arbitrage (which works IF you are disciplined and stick to the process), it's very simple to summarise the position of betting companies the world over. IF the betting company makes money from a higher percentage of punters losing on a market versus punters that win (money in versus money out), then there is NO way that they will not use techniques to limit or ban those punters who consistently win. In the same way as a pizza restaurant that offers "unlimited buffet" WILL throw you out if you eat too much. Both of those companies WILL go out of business if their audience "take advantage" and taking advantage is their own defined term and they make the rules to use their service. Therefore the only way to win consistently on the opposite side of an arbitrage is not to use a betting company like that. Use an exchange (which doesn't care if you win all the time because they take a percentage revenue from winners but not losers, so they essentially take revenue from every matched bet in the market). Take it from me: the Eye of Sauron WILL fall upon you if you win too much. And the reason for that: statistically you should not be winning "too" much at traditional betting companies. A casino/betting company is there to take consistent revenue from those who lose, and have the edge. Exchanges offer the back and lay side for punters and take a commission from setting up the trade. I'm not saying Exchanges should be trusted in every case. I'm saying if you are looking to bet without the risk of being closed down because you are too successful, then avoid casinos and traditional betting companies. While I'm not pro companies like that, you can't blame them for being what they are, just like you can't blame the pizza restaurant for not wanting to go out of business (funnily enough John Cena on The Graham Norton show tells of how a pizza place near him went out of business because as a starving student he "took advantage" of their eat all you can deal...).
I wouldn't have a problem with bookmakers protecting themselvesby restricting winning punters if they also protected excessively losing customers in the same way. Not methods like self exclusion that rely on gambling addicts to curb themselves.
The problem is the entire practice of running a successful bookmaker relies on exploiting vulnerable minority of punters. And everything from adverts to promotions to selective stake limits is geared towards that end.
Rubbish, if you offer unlimited buffet and you set the price for the unlimited buffet you have no business kicking someone out simply because they have a big stomach

A bookmaker could actually do well through welcoming arbitrage bettors. They can do this by diligently monitoring markets and moving their odds in line with a true market being honed by sharp punters. Arb bets will not be why bookies lose to these punters, it will only be because they are regularly getting caught on the bad side of the arb occurrences.
I don’t give a fly fuck about promos or free money from the sports books I just am gifted at predicting mma fights and bet 365 has banned me for simply winning. I don’t even do arbitrage or use there goofy promos

Someone else using your betting account has tax implications, if they win a lot of money using their money but your account then they at least need to share enough to pay the tax bills that will go to the owner of the account.

In a parimutuel system such as horse racing, why would the race track even care if you win or lose?
After-all, don’t they get their percentage of the pool and then redistribute the remaining pool money to the winners or am I missing something? Okay, I could understand if the bettor was deliberately attracting money to a particular horse by placing huge bets on
an over valued horse (essentially a false favorite) and then cancelling that bet with little time left on the clock after having significantly lowered its odds and then placing the money on the true value horse(s). Other than people who manipulate the market like that, why should they even care? If they are guaranteed to get their cut each and every time, they virtually never lose.

The betting companies need to be more transparent about the terms and conditions of the services they provide to both winning and losing players.
I don't support non disclosed betting limits imposed haphazardly by betting companies. However, I do think that if winning players are capped, losing players should be restricted as well where it has been idetified that patterns of continued large losses are occurring through poor betting strategies.
If sportsbooks restrict the winners at a certain threshold, they should also be mandated through government intervention to have thresholds imposed on losers to prevent heavy losses.
Caps on losers are actually way more important to the community, as it reduces gambling harm for those big punters and their families who may not have the will power to self exclude/restrict themselves.
The occasional winning stratigic arbitrage player is free advertising for these sportbooks and should be celebrated.
the geographical location of the actual company makes a huge difference in policy though of course keep in mind.....Here in USA different states have crazy rules in different states, most and many states don't allow betting so people use other sites online that are located elsewhere that have different policies

Let's be real though. If they didn't ban consistent winners, betting companies would go bankrupt. Someone could just arbritage with say $1M and the company would lose shit loads of money.
Pinnacle doesn't ban sports betting winners, and they've been around for decades.
If you have all the answers to the final exam, then you purposely should get 2-3 wrong to stay under the radar.....Arbritage isnt even gambling, and it seems incredibly tedious to do for the average joe.
