Even if you are an arbitrage bettor or +EV bettor, you will still likely encounter mistakes, especially early on in your career. Avoiding these is important to be able to win at sports betting! are your excel packages applicable from the UK? Also does it include the live odds compiled from across all bookies?
Another important lesson is to either backtest or get s big sample size before going with you regular unit size. Preferably don't even wager until you've seen the strategy be profitable for a longer period (300-500 bets). Everything can have a good run, and it may unfortunately be due to luck... So play safe!

I've been unit betting and aiming for 10% ROI. I'm up nearly 60 units over the span of around 600 wagers. I do a parlay every once in a while but I cut the unit size down to half knowing that the odds are exponentially against me.

The biggest mistake you make is actually placing a bet, you can make good money without the consequences of winning lots or losing all the money you put down, some folk can beat the bookies but you know, bookies make a living off it too, dont throw your money way
