Thank-you it makes me feel so sad how life is now compared to back then, and all the family members we have lost, my Christmas's were so special back then
These were golden times in television,...some great programs , and Christmas tv was always a real treat,...and always something to look forward to,.....there's a real demise in excitement and in real quality tv programming at Christmas telly in modern times......and it just makes you realise how good it used to be, and lucky we were to experience Christmas in the 1970s and 80s....
indeed...think we owe it to ourselves to bring back some of that. could start with making Boxing Day adhere to at least Sunday Trading Laws ...instead of having some stores open at 6/7/8am for horrid sales. poor folk who work to the bone all way up to Christmas Eve then being made to dash-off first thing on the 26th is just greed.
Amazing to think that Last of The Summer Wine wasn't even half way through it's run at this point. It went on for another twenty five years after this.
Thank you so much for posting.... I remember this very advert as though it was yesterday. I was 15 at the time and it was the best time of my life.... not compared to now. I so wish I could go back to then compared to the rubbish life of today.
I am the same age as you, Stuart, and found four TV channels with better quality than many channels and a lot of rubbish. No intrusive social media or even mobile phones to contend with, either!!!
0:39. I've seen Fools hundreds of times but have only just realized the three elliptical dots in the title. I wonder why the creators didn't just add the word "work" at the end; the established title is already very wordy: it has six syllables. Anyway, thanks for uploading this.
What a selection, classic only fools at Christmas

Tenko, Last of the Summer Wine & Only Fools & Horses. Wow. Today would be lucky to have one half that good.
Pre woke, when there was white people on British TV, oh them were the days 🙄🤗🤗🤗
@@williambeesley9224I was fifteen back then and remember that era very well. A time before insomnia was rife!
Less is more - when we had just 4 channels are the quality was better! Happier days...

It’s 2020 now and it’s a whole lot worse since your comment...
At least Technology has been a blessing during 2020!
