In Israel, I made it my rule to only speak Hebrew to Israelis. And I had three girls in my dira who were Israeli or Swiss, so spoke to them in Hebrew. It's completely true, you must force yourself to speak Hebrew and not be afraid. Even though I studied Hebrew in school for years, when I got to Israel I couldn't understand a word. By the end of the year I was fluent. And now many years later, I am able to pick up where I left off! Your videos are very helpful - and Elsa speaks m'tzuyan.

So true!!! Understanding the pealim and grammar is everything especially in Hebrew. It’s literally what keeps one from actually speaking the language. I experienced the same thing!! Most ppl like to put it on the back burner at least they don’t think it’s important to explain.. but it’s how the language is spoken
Your sartonim are very helpful to hear street Hebrew, natural speech, and very clear. I always learn new words or remind myself of words. At Hebrew U my purpose was to learn Ivrit, educated Ivrit, so took all my classes with Israelis from the regular catalog. This was "lifnei shanim rabot". Your videos are a help even to someone with substantial background.

Your content is the only channel that I have found very helpful for Hebrew at my intermediate level. It is entertaining, funny, and informative while I understand most of what you guys are talking about. Most other Israeli shows are much more difficult to understand. This comes from someone from the USA who has learned only from some Duolingo, closemaster, and a wife that speaks Hebrew with her parents but gets annoyed by my Hebrew grammar and pronunciation mistakes and will only speak to me in English! Keep up the excellent work! תודה רבה!

Elsa, I am so impressed with your Hebrew! I would absolutely love for you both to do a video on the בניינים /Hebrew grammar. I only understand בניין פעל. I am clueless about the others. I learned Hebrew in a Jewish school in NY for years and I can only hold a very basic conversation mixed with some English.
We were given a chart of the binyanim in school in the US, and told to memorize the binyanim. It was impossible. But when I spent a year in Israel, I found I was speaking in binyanim naturally, in the moment. It's the only way to learn binyanim is not to study them at all! Just live in Ivrit.
The bell sounds and other notification sounds are 30% louder than conversation. Maybe turn it down it bit. Great content subscribed!!! תודה רבה טוב מאוד
The concept of your channel is amazing! So much more interesting and relevant than the typical text book convo a la "Hi I am Sarah. What is your job? Yes I have a cat.".... I am obsessed already and I just found you. Have been on a break with learning Hebrew but while watching I felt so keen on learning a few more words now, and also I was happy that I recognised some of the words that you've used. Shows me that if I had a bigger vocabulary, I would probably not struggle with recognising the different words in a whole naturally spoken sentence, compared to the very highlighted pauses in language course audios. Idk if that makes sense bc english isn't my first language either. Very motivating!
I lived in Israel for two years; one in Tel Aviv and one in Or Yehuda. I never learned the language because I got a job where everyone spoke English. Whether from Israel, the US, Canada, Spain, Russia, etc., they all spoke English at work. Outside of work, they spoke Hebrew, but that didn't help me. I wish I had had these videos to watch and this wonderful advice about websites and methods. I couldn't get past the verbs! I couldn't carry on a conversation or understand them properly because I never was able to grasp the verbs. I finally gave up and brought my family back to the U.S. That was in 2015 and I've wished a 1000 times that I had stayed.
I followed your advice and downloaded an app (Hebrew-Spanish): in 20 minutes I learned or refreshed around 80 words! Thank you for the much needed push.

Excellent advice for learning the language, most of it works for other languages as well! When studying French, I used a grammar book in French, no English or Swedish! This forced me to learn how French works… ie I didn’t translate. I am far from an expert in French, but the feeling is that French differs from Swedish in the way the choose to express or convey the message. Some idioms are the same, but I can still sense the difference. I can imagine that Hebrew is even more important to try to get how to think in Hebrew rather than translating!

Very useful tips I also use pealim, even for pronounciation. That is for me most difficult to know which vovels the word has. I havent fouund many resources with transliteration.

I grew up speaking a very fine sort of English (thanks to Ivy League father who was a stickler for proper language) and Hawaiian Pidgin / Pacific Creole English, and I haven't the slightest idea what "conjugation" is, and it appears I'll have to learn actual grammar rules to learn Hebrew! Eeeeeeeeeesh!

From my experience, learn verbs first. Then learn items such as fruits, vegetables, meat, etc in a group. This is easy because you can get these items on the web. After this, and the most important thing, is to immerse your yourself in Hebrew like an ulpan. Unfortunately, trying to understand israelis speaking hebrew is impossible.

In addition I am watching tv shows in Hebrew and reading children's books lol im trying everything. anyways im wondering how old Elsa is because im 28 and im concerned maybe im past the age where its easy to learn a language?

Wow... in my native Provoc means I dare so related :)) im here searching how to learn French & Hebrew at once... yeah, ik, a big waste of time searching as it is like with any other two languages you start to learn at once -and you need to have different levels in both & to be pretty different one from another for it to not be a fail... but ig my nr 1 is French (yeah, making illusion since my native is a Romanic language, Romanian, highly influenced by French... Firstly, I started with French in the first year of Faculty then in lockdown I felt in love with Hebrew (yeah, why I even needed it -sometimes I'd be like😁) but I don't regret it... not much... I've learnt so much other things other than Hebrew, I learnt culture, how it was formed, etc, etc. And became interested in Judaism and I even began to think lately (um, maybe I have a jewish soul, which I highly doubted at a time cs it can happen to anyone to like anything it doesn't mean that person is really for that, yeah... 😁 anw,, such a love story.. so now looking for new ways to relearn them both... It would be a way to write vocab of both not using an intermediate (peut-etre it will work... yeah, so I am... but anw, If anyone has to comment any tips or advices or sth else I'll be glad to read

Bonjour Odile, avec plaisir ! Ces derniers temps, nous sommes un peu moins réguliers avec les vidéos mais on essaye d'en faire une toutes les deux semaines. Pour ne pas rater les vidéos, vous pouvez activer les notifications en cliquant sur la petite cloque à côté du bouton "S'abonner". Et une nouvelle vidéo vient de sortir ;)
If I listen to the Torah/Bible in Hebrew will it be the same Hebrew that is spoken today? Is there an Audio book you can recommend that is good? I want to play it to hear the language all day.
It's very different! There is plenty of good books but its important to choose books that suits your level. You could download the Storytel app and search for many good books in Hebrew. Good luck!

Hi Joanna, on icast, it's only the audio version of the book. You also have a very good app with many Hebrew Audio books called Storytel I usually buy / borrow from the library the paper version and read along You can also buy a digital version of the book on a website like www.e-vrit.co.il/ but then you have to read on your phone and I personally don't like it

הי מרסין, למעשה אין צורך לקנות את הספר בתקליטור אלא פשוט להוריד אותו באמצעות האפליקצייה שהמלצנו עליה בסרטון לקרוא ספר קודם בגרמנית ואח"כ בעברית זה רעיון מצויין. אני באופן אישי לא יודע על ספרים שמתורגמים גם לגרמנית אבל אני יודע על הרבה סופרים ישראלים שהספרים שלהם מתורגמים לשפות רבות ובהם בטח גם גרמנית כמו למשל אשכול נבו, דויד גרוסמן, אתגר קרת, יובל נח הררי ועוד.

הי חוה, קודם כל את כותבת ממש יפה בעברית כל הכבוד! יש אפליקציות שבהם אפשר לקנות קובץ של ספר ולקרוא דרך האפליקציה. כמו למשל האפליקציה "עברית" או האפליקציה Get books steimatzky רעיון טוב לגבי סרטון על המלצות ספרים! אני לאחרונה קראתי את נוילנד של אשכול נבו ומאוד אהבתי. את יכולה להוריד את הספר באפליקציה וגם להוריד את הספר בגרסת אודיו ואז להקשיב בו זמנית. מקווה שתאהבי

@@ewelinalucy אפשר גם רק להאזין. זה תלוי ברמת ההבנה. אם את מרגישה שאת מבינה טוב אז אין בעיה, אפשר רק להאזין. היתרון בהאזנה ובקריאה ביחד הוא גם שיפור הקריאה מכיוון ששומעים איך צריך להגות את המילים. בעברית מאוד קשה לדעת איך לקרוא מילה באופן נכון אם לא מכירים את המילה. לגבי הרמה של העברית- שוב זה תלוי בך, צריך לקחת משהו שהוא קצת מעל הרמה הנוכחית שלך. אני באופן אישי כרגע קורא ספרי ילדים בצרפתית כי זאת הרמה שלי. אם את מתמודדת בקלות עם "סיפור על אהבה וחושך" אני בטוח שאת יכולה לקרוא כל דבר בעברית. אם את אוהבת עברית ברמה גבוהה עם הרבה תיאורים אני גם ממליץ לך על ספרים של מאיר שלו. מאוד אהבתי את הספר שלו "יונה ונער"

Hi Karin, Elsa had some previous knowledge though she acquired most here in Israel. For the other questions- I think that it varies a lot for person to person and someone experience might be irrelevant for others.

I'm russian and sometimes I pronounce ר a lot like ח too! Not sure what to do with that, maybe you have some tips? I'm just starting out and I want to avoid adopting wrong speaking patterns as much as possible. וידאו גדול תודה!

אני יהודי אמריקאי, בן 51, ותמיד רציתי לעלות ארצה אבל איכשהוא לא יצא לי (סיפור ארוך ומשעמם מאד אבל בקיצור אמא'לה לא רצתה). אני למדתי בבתי ספר יהודים דתיים, כמו ישיבה אורתודוכסית מודרנית, סגנון כיפה סרוגה, מהגן עד כיתה ט', מחצית היום היתה מוקדשת ללימודי קודש , תנ"ך , משנה, גמרא ,וכו', והמלמדים והמורים היו אמורים לנהל את השיעורים בכיתה בעברית, אבל הם באמת לא לימדו אותנו לדבר. פשוט היה עלינו לדקלם איזה פסוק מהחומש ולהביר באנגלית מה היה כתוב, ומה הסביר רש"י. ורוב התלמידים, כולל אני, לא היו שמים לב לשיעור ולמורה, אני תמיד היה לי איזה ספר של מדע בדיוני באנגלית לבדר את עצמי שהסתרתי מתחת השולחן. אבל כשהייתי בתיכון, אחרי כיתה ט עברתי לבית ספר ציבורי עם לא יהודים ודווקא שם החלטתי לתקן את המעוות ולשפר את העברית שלי. בבית ספר הציבורי התחלתי ללמוד גרמנית וגיליתי להפתעתי שהיה לי כישרון מסויים לשפות זרות. אני אז הייתי בן 15, ולמרות העובדה שהתחלתי ללמוד עברית 10 שנים קודם לכן, אני כמעט לא יכולתי להוציא משפט שלם בעברית ולחבר מילה אחת לשנייה, לא הבנתי דקדוק . אבל בשנה הראשונה שלי ממש רכשתי יכולת לדבר ולקרוא בגרמנית פשוטה. אבל זה הטריד אותי בתור מישהו ממשפחה יהודית עם בני משפחה ניצולי שואה, רק 40 שנה אחרי השואה, שהגרמנית שלי היתה יותר טובה מהעברית. אני הייתי נחוש בדעתי ללמד את עצמי עברית, קניתי מילונים וספרי לימוד, נברתי במילונים, דפדפתי בהם עד שהעמודים נשרו, קניתי עיתונים בעברית (אז היה עיתון שבועי מודפס בניו יורק שעלה $1 שהיה קרוי "ישראל שלנו"), האזנתי ברדיו בגלים קצרים (זה היה בין השנים 1986-1988), וכל פעם ששמעתי אנשים מדברים בעברית (אני מניו יורק, לא קשה למצוא ישראלים פה וגם לא היה קשה לפני 35 שנה) הייתי ניטפל להם ומנסה להתחיל שיחה על המצב בארץ כמו איזה נודניק. לא היה איטרנט לבן אדם הממוצא (לחוקרים באוניברסיטה היה), אבל שאלתי תקליטים של שושנה דמארי ואריק אינשטיין מהספרייה הציבורית וגם תקליטים וקלטות מהספריה של המרכז הקהיתי היהודי בסטטן איילנד, איפה שגרתי ועדיין גר. אחרי שסיימתי תיכון התנדבתי לעבוד בקיבוץ וחשבתי שהייתי עולה לארץ, שהייתי מתגייס לצה"ל, וכו'. הייתי בקיבוץ איזה 7 חודשים הרבה מבני המשק רצו לדבר איתי באנגלית, אבל תמיד סירבתי. רציצתי מאד להישאר בארץ, זהיה שנת 1988-1989, אבל אמי לחצה עלי מאד לחזור לאמריקה וללמוד באוניברסיטה. לקח לי עוד 11 שנים עד שחזרתי לארץ בשנת 2000. הכל השתנה מאד. הספקתי לבקר בארת כמה פעמים בין השנים 2001-2004, שנות האיתיפאדה השנייה והתלבטתי עם לעלות לארץ או לא. בינתיים הספקתי להיכנס לזוגיות אבל בת זוגתי דאז לא היתה מוכנה לעלות לארץ, ואחר כך התחתנו (כבר הספקנו להתגרש) אז לא הסתדר. עכשיו שקיים אתרי אינטרנט ויוטוב וכל מיני אפשרויות לראות טליוויזה בעברית בצפייה ישירה ולקרוא אתרי חדשות בעברית, העברית שלי לא מתנוונת כל כך, זה לא פרפקט אבל עדיין שימושי. למרות זאת לפעמים מתקשה לדבר כי אין לי הרבה חברים דוברי עברית שיוצא לי לשוחח איתם ולפטפט בעברית.

In Israel, I made it my rule to only speak Hebrew to Israelis. And I had three girls in my dira who were Israeli or Swiss, so spoke to them in Hebrew. It's completely true, you must force yourself to speak Hebrew and not be afraid. Even though I studied Hebrew in school for years, when I got to Israel I couldn't understand a word. By the end of the year I was fluent. And now many years later, I am able to pick up where I left off! Your videos are very helpful - and Elsa speaks m'tzuyan.

You should have done a full-time ulpan which takes total beginners to proficiency in about 6 months.

So true!!! Understanding the pealim and grammar is everything especially in Hebrew. It’s literally what keeps one from actually speaking the language. I experienced the same thing!! Most ppl like to put it on the back burner at least they don’t think it’s important to explain.. but it’s how the language is spoken

Your content is the only channel that I have found very helpful for Hebrew at my intermediate level. It is entertaining, funny, and informative while I understand most of what you guys are talking about. Most other Israeli shows are much more difficult to understand. This comes from someone from the USA who has learned only from some Duolingo, closemaster, and a wife that speaks Hebrew with her parents but gets annoyed by my Hebrew grammar and pronunciation mistakes and will only speak to me in English! Keep up the excellent work!

We were given a chart of the binyanim in school in the US, and told to memorize the binyanim. It was impossible. But when I spent a year in Israel, I found I was speaking in binyanim naturally, in the moment. It's the only way to learn binyanim is not to study them at all! Just live in Ivrit.

I am obsessed already and I just found you. Have been on a break with learning Hebrew but while watching I felt so keen on learning a few more words now, and also I was happy that I recognised some of the words that you've used. Shows me that if I had a bigger vocabulary, I would probably not struggle with recognising the different words in a whole naturally spoken sentence, compared to the very highlighted pauses in language course audios. Idk if that makes sense bc english isn't my first language either. Very motivating!

I lived in Israel for two years; one in Tel Aviv and one in Or Yehuda. I never learned the language because I got a job where everyone spoke English. Whether from Israel, the US, Canada, Spain, Russia, etc., they all spoke English at work. Outside of work, they spoke Hebrew, but that didn't help me. I wish I had had these videos to watch and this wonderful advice about websites and methods. I couldn't get past the verbs! I couldn't carry on a conversation or understand them properly because I never was able to grasp the verbs. I finally gave up and brought my family back to the U.S. That was in 2015 and I've wished a 1000 times that I had stayed.

Excellent advice for learning the language, most of it works for other languages as well!
When studying French, I used a grammar book in French, no English or Swedish!
This forced me to learn how French works… ie I didn’t translate. I am far from an expert in French, but the feeling is that French differs from Swedish in the way the choose to express or convey the message. Some idioms are the same, but I can still sense the difference.
I can imagine that Hebrew is even more important to try to get how to think in Hebrew rather than translating!

Very useful tips I also use pealim, even for pronounciation. That is for me most difficult to know which vovels the word has. I havent fouund many resources with transliteration.

I grew up speaking a very fine sort of English (thanks to Ivy League father who was a stickler for proper language) and Hawaiian Pidgin / Pacific Creole English, and I haven't the slightest idea what "conjugation" is, and it appears I'll have to learn actual grammar rules to learn Hebrew! Eeeeeeeeeesh!

From my experience, learn verbs first. Then learn items such as fruits, vegetables, meat, etc in a group. This is easy because you can get these items on the web. After this, and the most important thing, is to immerse your yourself in Hebrew like an ulpan. Unfortunately, trying to understand israelis speaking hebrew is impossible.

Wow... in my native Provoc means I dare so related :)) im here searching how to learn French & Hebrew at once... yeah, ik, a big waste of time searching as it is like with any other two languages you start to learn at once -and you need to have different levels in both & to be pretty different one from another for it to not be a fail... but ig my nr 1 is French (yeah, making illusion since my native is a Romanic language, Romanian, highly influenced by French...
Firstly, I started with French in the first year of Faculty then in lockdown I felt in love with Hebrew (yeah, why I even needed it -sometimes I'd be like😁) but I don't regret it... not much... I've learnt so much other things other than Hebrew, I learnt culture, how it was formed, etc, etc. And became interested in Judaism and I even began to think lately (um, maybe I have a jewish soul, which I highly doubted at a time cs it can happen to anyone to like anything it doesn't mean that person is really for that, yeah... 😁 anw,, such a love story.. so now looking for new ways to relearn them both...

Bonjour Odile, avec plaisir ! Ces derniers temps, nous sommes un peu moins réguliers avec les vidéos mais on essaye d'en faire une toutes les deux semaines. Pour ne pas rater les vidéos, vous pouvez activer les notifications en cliquant sur la petite cloque à côté du bouton "S'abonner". Et une nouvelle vidéo vient de sortir ;)
If I listen to the Torah/Bible in Hebrew will it be the same Hebrew that is spoken today? Is there an Audio book you can recommend that is good? I want to play it to hear the language all day.
It's very different! There is plenty of good books but its important to choose books that suits your level.
You could download the Storytel app and search for many good books in Hebrew.

Hi Joanna, on icast, it's only the audio version of the book. You also have a very good app with many Hebrew Audio books called Storytel
I usually buy / borrow from the library the paper version and read along
You can also buy a digital version of the book on a website like www.e-vrit.co.il/ but then you have to read on your phone and I personally don't like it

לקרוא ספר קודם בגרמנית ואח"כ בעברית זה רעיון מצויין. אני באופן אישי לא יודע על ספרים שמתורגמים גם לגרמנית אבל אני יודע על הרבה סופרים ישראלים שהספרים שלהם מתורגמים לשפות רבות ובהם בטח גם גרמנית כמו למשל אשכול נבו, דויד גרוסמן, אתגר קרת, יובל נח הררי ועוד.

סרטון מושלם! אני מתה על הטיפ על ספרים מוקלטים, אף פעם לא חשבתי על זה ואיך שסיימתי לצפות בסרטון, התקנתי את האפליקציה. האם אתה יכול להמליץ על איזה אתר שבו אפשר לקרוא ספרים בעברית? בבית יש לי שני ספרים בעברית שאני עומד לקרוא, הראשון הוא "סיפור על אהבה וחושך", ספר מרתק שכל כך אהבתי שהיום אני כמעט שופטת ספרים אחרים לפי איך שהרגשתי כשקראתי את הספר הזה. השני הוא "ילד טוב", ספר ילדים/נוער שמצאתי בקיבוץ שבו עבדתי. אני קצת חוששת, אבל אני יודעת שהגיע זמן, כי אני כבר קוראת דברים אחרים בקלות.

@@ewelinalucy אפשר גם רק להאזין. זה תלוי ברמת ההבנה. אם את מרגישה שאת מבינה טוב אז אין בעיה, אפשר רק להאזין. היתרון בהאזנה ובקריאה ביחד הוא גם שיפור הקריאה מכיוון ששומעים איך צריך להגות את המילים. בעברית מאוד קשה לדעת איך לקרוא מילה באופן נכון אם לא מכירים את המילה.
לגבי הרמה של העברית- שוב זה תלוי בך, צריך לקחת משהו שהוא קצת מעל הרמה הנוכחית שלך. אני באופן אישי כרגע קורא ספרי ילדים בצרפתית כי זאת הרמה שלי. אם את מתמודדת בקלות עם "סיפור על אהבה וחושך" אני בטוח שאת יכולה לקרוא כל דבר בעברית. אם את אוהבת עברית ברמה גבוהה עם הרבה תיאורים אני גם ממליץ לך על ספרים של מאיר שלו. מאוד אהבתי את הספר שלו "יונה ונער"

Elsa had some previous knowledge though she acquired most here in Israel. For the other questions- I think that it varies a lot for person to person and someone experience might be irrelevant for others.

I'm russian and sometimes I pronounce ר a lot like ח too! Not sure what to do with that, maybe you have some tips? I'm just starting out and I want to avoid adopting wrong speaking patterns as much as possible.

אני יהודי אמריקאי, בן 51, ותמיד רציתי לעלות ארצה אבל איכשהוא לא יצא לי (סיפור ארוך ומשעמם מאד אבל בקיצור אמא'לה לא רצתה). אני למדתי בבתי ספר יהודים דתיים, כמו ישיבה אורתודוכסית מודרנית, סגנון כיפה סרוגה, מהגן עד כיתה ט', מחצית היום היתה מוקדשת ללימודי קודש , תנ"ך , משנה, גמרא ,וכו', והמלמדים והמורים היו אמורים לנהל את השיעורים בכיתה בעברית, אבל הם באמת לא לימדו אותנו לדבר. פשוט היה עלינו לדקלם איזה פסוק מהחומש ולהביר באנגלית מה היה כתוב, ומה הסביר רש"י. ורוב התלמידים, כולל אני, לא היו שמים לב לשיעור ולמורה, אני תמיד היה לי איזה ספר של מדע בדיוני באנגלית לבדר את עצמי שהסתרתי מתחת השולחן. אבל כשהייתי בתיכון, אחרי כיתה ט עברתי לבית ספר ציבורי עם לא יהודים ודווקא שם החלטתי לתקן את המעוות ולשפר את העברית שלי. בבית ספר הציבורי התחלתי ללמוד גרמנית וגיליתי להפתעתי שהיה לי כישרון מסויים לשפות זרות. אני אז הייתי בן 15, ולמרות העובדה שהתחלתי ללמוד עברית 10 שנים קודם לכן, אני כמעט לא יכולתי להוציא משפט שלם בעברית ולחבר מילה אחת לשנייה, לא הבנתי דקדוק . אבל בשנה הראשונה שלי ממש רכשתי יכולת לדבר ולקרוא בגרמנית פשוטה. אבל זה הטריד אותי בתור מישהו ממשפחה יהודית עם בני משפחה ניצולי שואה, רק 40 שנה אחרי השואה, שהגרמנית שלי היתה יותר טובה מהעברית. אני הייתי נחוש בדעתי ללמד את עצמי עברית, קניתי מילונים וספרי לימוד, נברתי במילונים, דפדפתי בהם עד שהעמודים נשרו, קניתי עיתונים בעברית (אז היה עיתון שבועי מודפס בניו יורק שעלה $1 שהיה קרוי "ישראל שלנו"), האזנתי ברדיו בגלים קצרים (זה היה בין השנים 1986-1988), וכל פעם ששמעתי אנשים מדברים בעברית (אני מניו יורק, לא קשה למצוא ישראלים פה וגם לא היה קשה לפני 35 שנה) הייתי ניטפל להם ומנסה להתחיל שיחה על המצב בארץ כמו איזה נודניק. לא היה איטרנט לבן אדם הממוצא (לחוקרים באוניברסיטה היה), אבל שאלתי תקליטים של שושנה דמארי ואריק אינשטיין מהספרייה הציבורית וגם תקליטים וקלטות מהספריה של המרכז הקהיתי היהודי בסטטן איילנד, איפה שגרתי ועדיין גר. אחרי שסיימתי תיכון התנדבתי לעבוד בקיבוץ וחשבתי שהייתי עולה לארץ, שהייתי מתגייס לצה"ל, וכו'. הייתי בקיבוץ איזה 7 חודשים הרבה מבני המשק רצו לדבר איתי באנגלית, אבל תמיד סירבתי. רציצתי מאד להישאר בארץ, זהיה שנת 1988-1989, אבל אמי לחצה עלי מאד לחזור לאמריקה וללמוד באוניברסיטה. לקח לי עוד 11 שנים עד שחזרתי לארץ בשנת 2000. הכל השתנה מאד. הספקתי לבקר בארת כמה פעמים בין השנים 2001-2004, שנות האיתיפאדה השנייה והתלבטתי עם לעלות לארץ או לא. בינתיים הספקתי להיכנס לזוגיות אבל בת זוגתי דאז לא היתה מוכנה לעלות לארץ, ואחר כך התחתנו (כבר הספקנו להתגרש) אז לא הסתדר. עכשיו שקיים אתרי אינטרנט ויוטוב וכל מיני אפשרויות לראות טליוויזה בעברית בצפייה ישירה ולקרוא אתרי חדשות בעברית, העברית שלי לא מתנוונת כל כך, זה לא פרפקט אבל עדיין שימושי. למרות זאת לפעמים מתקשה לדבר כי אין לי הרבה חברים דוברי עברית שיוצא לי לשוחח איתם ולפטפט בעברית.
