I'd like a lesson on this : When there are
two letters together like niqqud under a letter plus the letter yud -
for instance tzere + yud :
1 When is it pronounced like a diphtong
"ei" or "ey"
2 When pronounced "eh" only ?
3. When is the yud only a "mater lectionis"
and is not pronounced, so only
the tzere is pronounced ?
