my first fabric tail, i used a shiny silver leotard fabric, it was a success ! but on land i look like a steam wrap fish... but in water, in pool, it shines ! ! !
but after a few months later, the fabric breaks... so sad. thhe fabric doesnt stand well in water n sun..
a year after that i designed and printed then sew my own koi mermaid fin and it was beautiful!
also, next time you're doing fabric tail, avoid colors that matches pool colors~
u can get sequin stretch fabrics ~! but might hard to sew it. there's try n error ~
you can check out Stella mermaid in youtube, she teaches how to properly measure a fitting mermaid fin !
aaa i miss mermaiding so much, all pools are closed for covid lockdown.

I have made a few tails i. the past few years (following courtneymermaid's tutorials and observing how she does it). I learned a lot since the first tail which I used the wrong fabric for.

I just recently made my own fabric tail. I also used a pretty stretchy lycra fabric, but it turned out alright! It slides a little bit down my legs, but I probaly didnt make the waisband fitted enough. I didn't make a typical mermaid shaped fluke for it, because I'm using a finish wave with it. Instead I opted for a overall rounded shape, but with tendrils flowing from the bottom of the fin. This allowed me to have a completely open bottom, and just an invisible corner stitch on either side to keep the skin in place over the monofin. The light fabric makes some beautiful whispy flows in motion, and makes the tail look almost like a betta or siamese fighing fish. I think it's really good having as open bottom as possible with ligher and stretchier fabric

The flowy fluke looks soooo good when you‘re swimming! I can imagine it being difficult, but it looks stunning! My favourite of all your fabric tails look-wise.

Clickbait because it turned out to be the prettiest tale I've ever seen and you looked like you werr swimming in it so well! (Jk, I understand that you had issues with how the fabric was working) but I never could have seen it from the video that it was hard to swim in, unless you commented.

Sure! Just rip the seam at the bottom of the tail and finish up the edges nicely so it doesn't rip all the way. That should do just fine :)

She may not be doing commissions or making tails for others at all, try making one yourself first! It can be fun and you can customize it anyway you want
