2 Hrs of Plane Spotting at Frankfurt Airport - 110+ CLOSE UP Landings and Takeoffs with Flight Info

This time we are back at Frankfurt Airport for a great day of Spotting! Started in the early morning, we arrived at the famous Zeppelinheim spotting deck around 6 AM. The inbound rush was already started so we had pleny of action going on!
Just after sunrise we drove towards the line up spot at runway 18. Departure rush slowly started. The light was amazing for the whole day there was a orange gold glow in the sky, I think because of the Sahara dust cloud that hitted Frankfurt that day.
As the aircrafts had some moist on it in the early stages of the day during takeoff you can see it gets blown off.
During the time at Runway 18 we did a livestream too, and during the final stages of it somebody mentioned that Flight LH440 to Houston headed back to Frankfurt Airport for an Emergency landing. A few days after our visit the first report came out saying that it had a failure on one of the engines and therefor they shutted on engine down. Well take a look at the landing and see it yourself!
After this we packed our gear and headed back to Zeppelinheim for the Evening inbound rush! With as THE highlight ofcourse the Air China Boeing 747-8I! The sunset was THE best sunset we had ever seen, ofcourse helped by the Sahara sand the sky turned RED and we catched both the landing and takeoff of the Air China 747-8I.

The Lufthansa fleet represents the situation in our country. Old. A wild mixture of old and new liveries. 747-400. A 340-300. Seriously Lufthansa ?
My fleet would consist out of A 350-900's. A 350-1000's. A 330neo. All in the new livery. But hey. It's Germany.....
I think much of this has to do with money.. and lets be fair, would you retire 10x 330-300 17x 340-300 10x 340-600 and 8 747-400? As they can still operate for years? I think Lufthansa is doing a decent job on re-newing the fleet. And for is, nothing can beat a 747 haha😜
@@AmsterdamAviationYT Of course you are right. If i would had been responsible for the Lufthansa fleet only ( not the whole entire LH group ) i would had ordered the right planes at the right time. Lufthansa earned billions of € in the last years. A pure Airbus widebody fleet could had been ordered from 2020 until 2030. But hey. It's Germany. Not Scandinavia or Holland.
Well tbh I’m glad they still operate the 747’s, but I think I big reason Lufthansa still flies the “old” planes is ownership. Normally a airline is leasing them from a leasing company for a x amount of time, if that contract ends they will hè for newer planes. Lufthansa ownes almost all of their planes, so they basically have very very low operating cost wat makes us really attractive to fly them for a longer amount of time
