Dear Robert, Thanks for this tip, but... I didn't have a metal pole in my shop so I went and got one of those 10' ones (since I wouldn't touch anything else with it). Problem is I'm always too busy/tired to put it up, so I keep leaving it on the floor. Now I'm tripping over my broom, pan, AND metal pole. Any advice???

Maybe a bigger magnet. Just put it in the room, and it will lift the pole for you.

You need a giant broom to stick the pole to. Then stick the regular sized broom to the pole held up by the giant broom and voila problem solved

...and like the many of us solving this even before the US was a country, we hammer a nail or put a screw on a wall, and if the broom and dustpan have a little hole for *that* specific purpose, we fit it there, and if not, just grab a piece of string and make a loop for it. Solved multiple centuries ago when guitars weren't even called like that and instead called citars.
